Part 1
Piper McLean is both an agent of chaos and a woman of the people. After the success of the seven’s trauma candy salad video, she begs (and bribes) a few of the others to join in. The video goes viral, and they end up as a trending topic for 3 days.
Reyna: Hello, my name is Reyna, and I got kidnapped by pirates after Percy Jackson destroyed my home…I brought peach rings.
Will: Hi, I’m Will, and my dad and I are the same age. I’m putting in fruit gummies.
Rachel: Hey everyone, I’m Rachel, and the first time I met Percy, he tried to stab me with a sword. I’m adding nerds gummy clusters.
Percy: My name is Per-
Piper (behind the camera): Percy, you already went last time.
Annabeth (also behind camera): Just let him do it; he needs this.
Percy: My name is Percy Jackson, and I was kidnapped by my aunt and assumed dead for six months. I brought shark gummies!
Clarisse: What’s up, I’m Clarisse, and I was one of four survivors of a boat explosion in the Bermuda Triangle. I brought some warheads extremes.
Magnus: Hey, I’m Magnus, and after my mom was murdered by wolves in front of me, I spent two years living on the streets. I’m adding sour patch kids.
Nico: Nico just stares directly into the camera for a few seconds while pouring in black chocolate rocks. "I know what hell actually looks like."
I am having so much fun watching rich people realize that half of our country's fighting age population hates their fucking guts. Guess it's hard to see people getting pushed too far from an ivory tower.
The people claiming to be horrified by the violence are not to be taken seriously, because they were happy as clams to keep letting Brian Thompson drop bodies. They don't actually give a shit that someone died, they're just worried the poors might get healthcare.
If they actually cared about people dying, they wouldn't be demonizing Luigi. He killed one of the biggest mass murders in the country and that's the gospel fucking truth. Just because our government made that shit legal does not change the reality that Brian Thompson was a serial killer, and so is every health insurance CEO.
Fuck hostile architecture, I want unhostile architecture. I want benches to be designed to be as easy as possible to sleep on. I want little places for pigeons to nest to be purposefully put on buildings. I want people designing public spaces to think about what they'd be like to skateboard on. I want "Please loiter" signs. I want people to be kind. I want...
Hey how come the truck automatically locks when it explodes and bursts into flames
solangelo fans. Dude. We need to stop making Will the pretty boy and Nico the insane bitch in the relationship. We need to switch the fucking roles. Will is TEXAN.
While some of us are cozy enuf that the segregationist fascism and white supremacist terrorism (let’s call it what it is) of the Trump regime will not touch us directly (or immediately), many more across colorlines and communities will face intimate, everyday violences in the workplace, in housing, in healthcare, in classrooms, on the streets, and in safe spaces.
❌ Using incarcerated laborers to work farms and fire disasters comes from the same conviction leasing and legal slavery systems that followed the Civil War.
❌ The discriminatory policies against our trans kinfolks and queer relatives is rooted in the same legislation that policed and persecuted Black folks in the 50s and 60s.
❌ The politics of school vouchers and book bans are crafting covert ways to re-segregate our education systems (and feeding school-to-prison pipelines).
❌ Targeting student-activists, administrators, and educators on college campuses reinforces academic imperialism and state-funded censorship via learning.
As the oceans rise and the fires rage, we MUST recover, restore, and reimagine the teachings and traditions of our elders and ancestors who left their recipes and writings. The Harriets, Zoras, Marys, Corettas, Octavias, Tonis, Angelas, and many foremothers (and siblings) before us didn’t just learn their lessons in classrooms, but on porches, in kitchens, in gardens, and workshops where they nurtured their wisdoms, knowledge, and knowings through community and solidarity. Their memories captured and collected across books and stories allow us to manifest marches and movements that transform our mothers’ gardens into oceans, divine and deep.
From antislavery to antiracism, we must return to our underground gardens and growing spaces to bring forth the same abolitionist ideals and collective actions that birthed our long (and continuing) civil rights movement.

NYT has been discouraging reporters from sharing photos of luigi mangione - not due to concerns for his safety but to dissuade sympathy - and refuses to post his alleged manifesto in full. and today, they published an opinion by bret stephens about how brian thompson is the "real working class hero" of this story.
reddit deleted luigi's account, which was completely innocuous and consisted mostly of him giving out advice in health subreddits. they're also deleting any post that includes his alleged manifesto and banning users for sharing it.
luigi yelled that this was "an insult to the intelligence of the american people" while he was being dragged by police and news pundits are framing it as a deranged and violent outburst. news media are picking apart details of his life to paint him as a cold-blooded and mentally ill individual. even something as innocent as playing "among us" with friends is being framed as some insidious look into an assassin's disturbed psyche, ffs.
news media are also capitalizing on luigi's supposed "bizarre and impossible to understand" politics as an obvious way to paint him as a scary individual when the guy is... a centrist, at most. whose views are similar to those of your average college-educated white guy.
multiple news media also keep harping on about how luigi comes from a rich family. an obvious attempt to break the class solidarity that's been formed around this case by continuously trying to tell us "oh he's not like you guys" while ignoring the now pretty well-documented accounts of his multiple health struggles throughout the years.
and all this, and he hasn't even been found guilty of the crime he's allegedly committed. luigi is, as of right now, still innocent until proven guilty. and the news are trying to tear him apart because they obviously fear the symbol he's becoming for low and middle class america.

it's really funny how the NYPD perp walked Luigi Mangione as an obvious power play so they could pretend they're badasses but instead they just look like they're leading Jesus to the cross
