hey, do You remember Demon's Chronicle? Well on Twitter i found this person @/manmadou2gouten that it was making a "successor” called "Demon's Kingdom". Basically it was making the demons that didn't get figures on the OG Line before it was discontinued on 2008 into figurines in the same Style as the Original DC. Also their Decarabia is so obviously SMT inspired (which fits because the OG Demon's Chronicles' arioch was also SMT inspired, minus vagina)
Wow, no kidding, these are awesome!
No subtle hint about Decarabia that Forneus is placed right next to him. :)) The coloring on Murmur is also very SMT-inspired! Really, I don't see how it can't be for demons like him that lack Dictionnaire prints! The artist also has a site:
Impressive stuff!
just saw a post where someone calls Amaterasu “deviation from the usual solar/lunar gender roles” and i’m morbidly curious where do people even get the idea that there’s some transcendent universal idea that moon is female and sun is male since it’s virtually impossible to muster arguments in its favor Arguably the highest profile lunar deity in history of the world, Nanna-Suen was male. Not even the notion that gender of sun and moon deities will inevitably differ from each other within one culture rings true in any capacity, since ex. in ancient Egypt both sun (Ra et al.) and moon (Khonsu, Yah, Thoth) were generally male, same goes for Mesopotamia (Nanna-Suen, Shamash) or for contemporary hinduism (Chandra, Surya)… And the fact that Ugaritic Shapash is female even though Akkadian Shamash is male shows that even within one cultural sphere the gender of celestial bodies is hardly something defined on the deepest most primal level. On top of that female solar deity is hardly an outlier, Hittites had more than one including one residing in the underworld.
Ever since I learnt bout angel tiers as a kid I always wanted to draw em all but only now did i get around to it-
Wanted to have it where they progressively get more abstract and inhuman the higher the tier goes cause who doesnt love a lil cosmic horror? I also took some liberties with the descriptions of all the angels cause lotta them kind of overlap and sound similar.
biblical accurate angels will always be better and more creative than normal angels, even if it it is a newer thing id rather have giant eye filled angels of power and other worldly beauty than those dumb baby faced fucks. Just look at kirby monsters, monsters with eyes just fuck
Holy fuck is this the real angel that Ezekiel saw????

do you know what is the magazine that the artwork "emerged" comes from? (related, i feel so robed that this design wasn't used for cherub, i mean, do really like SH Cherub, but imagined having this creature in your party)
This is credited in Digital Devil Apocalypse for a magazine called "M2 Discovery." Pretty difficult to find information about due to its fairly mundane name. Its covers all say "Discovery" in romaji but also render it in katakana as "ディスカヴァリー" precisely (as opposed to ディスカバリー, which is how it is misspelled in DDA). It styles itself as a "Mediamix Magazine" (メディアミックスマガジン); the "M2" probably refers to this.
I couldn't find the issue with Emerge but this interesting cover popped up after I found the right spelling:
An issue, volume 26, from November 1996 with SMT2 Michael featuring a "Devil's Compendium" feature that's continued from the previous month's issue. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything else about the magazine.
I'm personally not that hot on Emerge's cherub as a demon design, but I feel it wasn't intended to be one. Kaneko with some greater artistic freedom going wild.
UPDATE: Added Discovery Jan. 1997 Volume 28 featuring Emerge on the cover, found by Vesk.
