Laurie Dann Led An Unassuming Childhood, Growing Up In An Affluent Northern Suburb Of Chicago. She Was

Laurie Dann led an unassuming childhood, growing up in an affluent northern suburb of Chicago. She was recollected as being somewhat awkward and lacking in confidence. Maybe that’s why she completely altered her face with plastic surgery at quite a young age. She attended the University of Arizona for several years but never graduated. Whilst working as a cocktail waitress at Green Acres Country Club, she met Russell Dann, the son of a wealthy family. The duo were inseparable and settled down and got married in September of 1982. They moved into a large mansion - something that had always been a dream of Lauries.

Shortly thereafter, Russell began to notice some bizarre quirks about his new wife. For example, she would keep her makeup in the microwave, would throw money into the back seat of her car, and would put clothes away while they were still soaking wet. While the couple remained together for several years, Laurie’s quirks began to worsen and worsen. Eventually, she completely stopped leaving the house and refused to cook or clean up after herself. The relationship was doomed but it reached calamitous heights in September of 1986. Police received a phone call from Russell. Somebody had stabbed him with an ice-pick whilst he slept and he was certain it was Laurie. In fact, a store clerk would come forward to say Laurie had indeed purchased an ice-pick just days previously. The ice-pick missed his heart by just an inch. Considering Russel was asleep and didn’t see his attacker, the charges against Laurie were dropped. The couple divorced shortly afterwards. As the divorce was underway, Laurie’s ex-boyfriend from five years previously started to receive threatening phone calls from Laurie in which she claimed she was pregnant with his child. The harassment finally ended when his lawyer contacted her parents.

Laurie moved from the marital home and decided she wanted to become a babysitter but this quickly failed when she was accused of stealing from her client’s homes and slashing up their sofas, rugs, and curtains. Following this failed business idea, she moved into a dorm room on the northwest campus. This too fell apart when Laurie starred to hide rotten meat inside furniture as well as hiding rubbish in other student’s rooms. In January of 1988, she moved to a dorm in Madison, Wisconsin, where she became known as “elevator lady.” Students recalled her riding up and down in the elevator all day long. Once again, she started to leave rotten meat around the dorm and would often be seen stark naked in the communal areas. A month after moving in, a dorm room was set alight. Many believed Laurie had caused the fire intentionally but with no evidence, she was never charged.

By now, Laurie’s sanity was completely unravelled and nobody thought to get her more suitable professional help. After threatening a fellow student and slashing his clothing, Laurie baked buns and injected them with arsenic. She sent these laced treats to several frat houses and homes in the area before making her way to the home of a former babysitting client, asking if she could take their kids to the local fair. She gave the two children poisoned milk. Thankfully, they threw it out after saying it tasted strange. The arsenic in the laced treats she had sent out was so diluted that it caused no damage. From here, Laurie went to a local daycare and tried to set it on fire before returning to the former clients home which she then set on fire. They were lucky enough to escape out of a smashed window. By the time the family escaped, Laurie was en route to Hubbard Woods Elementary School. Armed with two handguns, Laurie started shooting indiscriminately as soon as she entered the building. She shot and killed 8-year-old Nicholas Corwin before critically wounding another five.

Laurie ripped off the bloody shorts she was wearing and tied a plastic bag around her waist. After fleeing the school, she crashed her car into a tree and then broke into the home of Ruth and Phillip Andrews. Laurie held the terrified family hostage for six hours, claiming she had shot and killed her rapist and was now on the run from the police. Phillip grabbed the gun from Laurie as his family escaped. During the scuffle, he was shot in the chest but managed to stagger into the garden. Alone in the Andrews home, Laurie shot herself dead.

☆ ED hygiene and general health ☆ Hola! Here’s a lil’ post on ED hygiene and health post because if you can’t recover you can at least be hygienically healthy and not become extremely unhealthily ill with other reasons to be hospitalized! ♡ bbys with anorexia! ♡ believe it or not, we have hygiene issues but obviously awful health issues too, here’s how we can prevent them and b healthy skinni queeeeeenz! ♡ dehydration ♡ people with anorexia can become dehydrated really bad because food contains water and some times people become to afraid to even drink water due to the illusion of “water makes you fat” or “water has calories” which, by the way, if you believe this you’re in a severe stage of anorexia and you need to recover or you will die! but anyways, drink a lot of water! i suggest 6 to 10 bottles with 16.9 ounces of water a day, this can also help with weight loss and honestly water tastes great, you can also eat ice (tastes even better!!!!!) to get your hydration up also you can drink sodas like coke 0, diet coke, and ICE (it’s a drink with 0 calories, btw they were forced to put 5 on the bottle and it’s actually 0) and they all taste amazing! ♡ headaches ♡ if you restrict to extreme numbers, such as 500 and under, you have most likely experiences a HELL RAISING headache. it really, really sucks and it’s because you have super high dopamine levels and super low sodium, to raise these levels i suggest eating an avocado (unless they have too many calories or you hate them) and a little salt like a finger tip or something or mineral water, which btw has 0 calories! ♡ dizziness ♡ E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E and i’m literally not kidding, EVERYONE who starves themselves are going to get dizzy. Let me tell you, it’s every single time i get up -_- so here’s how to stop being super dizzy! * drink hella water * try to reduce your stress by doing something calming wether it’s yoga, watching your favorite tv show, listening to relaxing music or drawing, relax. * get a bunch of sleep, sleep burns a lot of calories by the way! * drink caffeine, it raises your blood pressure! ♡ fatigue ♡ yes, people with anorexia feel super lazy and sluggy too, which can suck if you’re a compulsive exerciser. well to let you know, exercise has helped me stop being so fatigued! i like to do chloe ting workouts and other workouts with amazing instructors who make it fun and talk to you during the workout! try doing workout challenges like abs, legs or full body because this can help you lose weight and also feel amazing! ♡ osteoporosis ♡ “i HaVe OsTeOpOroSis” ok but like really, this is horrible, i was born with fast bone maturing (idk what its called lol but i have it???) which made my bones like those of a 18 year old in a 13 year olds body, but anyways osteoporosis is awful, here are some things you can do to prevent it; * drink milk (non-fat: 83 calories per cup) * eat fruits and vegetables like spinach, oranges, peppers, pineapple and others, i would look for ideas on nof.org * try to get calcium and vitamin D, foods like almonds, yogurt, salmon, and eggs are safe like a lot of foods with these! * try to stop smoking and drinking although i know this is how a lot of us get calories * get a lot of sleep ♡ lanugo ♡ i’m not sure if you’ve heard of this but lanugo is when you get so cold your body decides to grow access hair, there is literally no way to prevent this if you have an ED so just be ready, but a lot of people want to shave it but DONT!!!! if you shave it you’ll be cold, if you want to, hide it. ♡ preventing thin nails and hair ♡ we all know that so so soooooo many people with anorexia have hair loss or brittle nails and i would prefer to keep my hair and nails thanks, here’s how i do it; * take biotin and hair vitamins * do a deep condition every once in a while * stay hydrated (this is literally a thing for all of them!) * eggs, almonds and avocados are good for these!

THE BARE BASICS

THE BARE BASICS

1. CLEANSING

This step can literally make or break your routine tbh, if you get a cleanser that’s too drying, it will cause major damage to your skin. Your skin has a pH of 4.5-5.5 and most of the popular cleansers recommended on skincare threads you might see on say twitter etc such as Castile soap is actually too alkalic for your skin! It strips your skin of moisture and leaves it super dry. I know most of y'all love that squeaky clean feeling these kind of cleansers give your skin but that’s not necessarily the case. (side note: if you use makeup I’d highly recommend double cleansing where you remove your makeup with an oil based cleanser followed by washing your face with a water based cleanser)

Some good oil based cleansers ;

Neutrogena ultra light cleansing oil

Tatcha one step Camellia cleansing oil

Banila Co clean it zero

Heimish all clean balm

The Face Shop rice water bright rich cleansing oil

DHC deep cleansing oil

Low pH water based cleansers;

Cosrx low pH good morning gel cleanser

SebaMed clear face foaming cleanser

CeraVe foaming facial cleanser

Su:m37 miracle rose cleansing stick

Cleaning waters (optional, can be used to remove residue of dirt and debris after cleansing and also as a quick cleanse if you’re in a rush) ;

Bioderma hydrabio H2O micelle solution

Thayers witch hazel (alcohol free version )

Caudalie micellar cleansing water

Garnier skin micellar cleansing water

2. MOISTURIZING

Moisturizing is a crucial step in skincare (yes, even for oily skin!) to help keep your your skin youthful and it hold water in the outermost layer of your skin to act as a barrier. It protects your skin and helps improve texture. Studies have shown that people who moisturize their skin accumulate wrinkles at just a fraction of the rate of their dry skin counterparts.

Moisturizers for oily skin;

Keihl’s ultra facial oil free gel cream

The Ordinary moisturizing factors + HA (tbh good for combo/normal skin too)

Cosrx oil free ultra moisturizing lotion

La Roche-Posay tolerian ultra Soin de Nuit

Pure aloe vera gel

Moisturizers for dry skin;

Dr. Jart+ ceramidin cream

Belif the true cream-moisturizing bomb

Benton snail bee high content steam cream

Clinique moisture surge intense

Moisturizers for combination skin;

LA Roche-Posay Toleriane double repair moisturizer UV

Neutrogena naturals multivitamin nourishing moisturizer

Belif the true cream-moisturizing bomb

Paula’s Choice SKIN BALANCING invisible finish moisture gel moisturizer

3. SUNSCREEN

Do I really need to explain why this is super important? If you’re not wearing sunscreen, especially if you’re outdoors (side note: please reapply every two hours), you’re more prone to forming age spots, wrinkles, blemishes and we’ll ask hyperpigmentation meaning this can also cause any acne scarring etc you might have to get darker, making it harder to get rid of.

Sunscreen recs for oily skin;

Julep no excuses invisible sunscreen gel spf 40

Clinique super city block ultra protection spf 40

La Roche-Posay anthelion clear skin face sunscreen for oily skin spf 60

Etude House sunprise mild airy finish spf 50

Australian Gold Botanical spf 50 sunscreen

Sunscreen recs for dry skin;

Lakme Sun Expert with Spf 30

L'Oreal Age Perfect Facial Oil SPF 30

CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream spf 30

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer With SPF 30

Sunscreens recs for combination skin;

Suntegrity 5-in-1 sunscreen spf 30

Perricone MD photo plasma moisturizer broad spectrum spf 30

Kate Somerville daily deflector moisturizer spf 50

THAT’S ALL FOR THIS POST! I’LL BE MAKING ANOTHER SEPARATE POST ON TOPICAL SUPPLEMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL SKIN NEEDS. HOPE Y'ALL LEARN A THING OR TWO FROM THIS POST AND FEEL FREE TO SEND ME AN ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ♡

(side note: as a POC myself, I am aware of the whitecast most sunscreens leave but I couldn’t reccomend many that don’t since I have yet to properly research good products in that category. I will do my homework on this and make a separate post on that for you guys)

we should uhhhh normalize non binary people or anyone under the nb umbrella choosing to use the trans flag to represent them instead of the non binary one or any other flag. the trans flag is for all of us, we are the white stripe and tbh ive gotten weird looks from people for calling myself trans and using the flag instead of the nb one. why! its ours too god dammit! we are still trans and we can use whatever god damn flag we feel like using
