Maybe it's more of a philosophical belief than a spiritual belief, but I've been a mind-body-nondualist for a long time. However since I've awakened as an energy being (and as an alterhuman in general), I've frequently felt like I'm wearing or puppeting my body, which creates a lot of cognitive dissonance. I still believe that I am my body or at least have some sort of intrinsic connection to it, though
I have a question that I'd absolutely love to hear others opinions on. As far as I've seen, "spiritual nonhuman/otherkin/etc" generally means someone who's identity is tied to their spirituality (the only example of this I know of is things like past lives or alternate lives, forgive my ignorance here) but are there many others out there who feel like their spiritual/religious beliefs and nonhuman identity are completely disconnected or even a little contradictory?
When I first introjected I was still disconnecting from beliefs I followed in source (if you know... yeah... wasn't very good for me) and currently I am religious and finding myself feeling such a connection to a human/earth religion was a little bit of a strange experience.
Obviously I'd love to hear specifically other aliens that have found themselves in a similar position, but any response is welcomed and appreciated. I suppose the two aren't entirely separate, my memories specifically tied to the fact I am a Vorta could influence the fact I feel a connection to the idea of keeping religious beliefs, but I hope I've explained my point regarding disconnect/contradiction well
Hellour
1. I mainly identify as alterhuman, otherspin (so I'm my special interest, basically) and voidpunk
2. I am a cat and an extraterrestrial (maybe even extradimensional?) being of light. Fun fact: I also used to be a reptile cladotherian
3. I experience plenty of phantom limb shifts, mostly of having a tail, pointed cat ears or ethereal tentacles. Lately I've been having a lot of paw shifts, too. Due to my amorphous nature, I experience a lot of cameo shifts: I've already been a snake, a river otter, a gryphon, etc.
4. Oooh this is such a huge giant question... Well, to sum things up, it is an experience that is melancholy yet very refreshing and exciting... It means having to sit for hours at school when I really want to be pouncing and playing and zooming about, but it also means that when I do something as mundane as, say, eating chocolate, I am experiencing it as a human who likes chocolate, as a cat who usually wouldn't be able to eat candy, and as an energy being who wouldn't be able to eat material food simultaneously. If I wrote any more, this would quickly venture into essay territory
5. The otherkin community (I'm using "otherkin" as an umbrella term to make the text less cluttered and because I've seen it used that way before) has a lot of similar dynamics and issues to the furry fandom and the wider LGBT+ community (gee I wonder why). On the one hand, it is very accepting and welcoming and holds space for beings from all walks of life, on the other hand it has a lot of petty high-school-esque drama, which isn't surprising for a community consisting largely of high schoolers. Guess the elder otherkind are out there doing their own thing *shrug*
6. Being a cat and an energy being means I'm very... Well... Energetic. That means a lot of delightful zoomies. My parents even bought me an indoor trampoline so I'll stop bouncing on furniture and breaking it :3 I'm also an infovore, so learning is yummy. That's why I actually don't hate going to school. I still have a lazy side that likes napping and sunning, though. Additionally I like hiking and exploring this beautiful planet, taking in all its sights and sounds and smells...
7. As a shapeshifter, I usually don't experience species dysphoria, this is just another form that I have to adapt to. And since cats can be found almost anywhere in the world and my alien species is nomadic, everywhere is my hearthome! Still, I occasionally experience episodes of dysphoria. One time, for instance, I didn't wear my cat ear headband to a youth club I go to and I had a mini-panic attack because my friends wouldn't perceive me as a cat
8. Don't feel pressured to put on a show in order to prove your alterhumanity (unless you want to, putting on a show is fun!). You are not the ambassador of your kintype. And like a snake sheds its skin, don't be afraid to shed parts of your identity that no longer serve you
9. I have the aforementioned black cat ear headband and a small collection of collars. I guess you can can count my fur coats and my obnoxiously brightly-colored clothing, too
10. Maybe I am in my larval stage and will hatch into my proper form after I die, maybe I'm here to collect information for my hive, maybe I had past lives, maybe I'm just an autistic girl who was ostracized in the past and deeply identifies with cats and incorporeal aliens. In this crazy universe, who knows what may be possible?
11. @kitsuneechoes @pocketsizedking @cosmicwolfdog @fr0g-0bzz3z3d tell me your SEEEECRETS (or don't, it's up to you)
(don't be afraid to write a lot, do what you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
1/ Which category of alterhumanity do you belong to?
2/ What/who is/are your type(s)? (if you have any)
3/ Do you experience shifts? If so, can you tell us your most common shifts and your strangest cameo shift (if you've ever had a cameo shift)?
4/ How do you experience your alterhumanity in everyday life?
5/ What do you think of the community?
6/ What are the things that make you most comfortable and euphoric in your alterhumanity?
7/ Are you experiencing species dysphoria?
8/ What advice would you like to say to a young alterhuman who has just awakened?
9/ Do you have/want to have gears?
10/ Do you know/have any theories about the origin of your alterhumanity? If so, tell us! (all beliefs are legitimate)

Considering the fact that the Star Trek fandom is just as large as the Tolkien fandom, which led to the creation of the first otherkin community (the Silver Elves), I find it curious that I have not encountered any Star Trek fictionkind until now. Where are all the Klingons, the Vulcans? Who knows: maybe even Spock and Kirk themselves are living on our earth.
I've actually kinsidered being either an Organian, a Medusan or a Pahvan for a while, but none of them add up exactly to my experiences. So for now I'm just a vague sort of energy being
Hello alienkins , robotkins, monsterkins, vocaloidkins and otherkins in general!! How are you all?
Ready for the question of the day?
I want you to tell me a type of otherkin or therian that you think is a really cool concept, but you've never seen anyone use.
For me, unicorn therians/otherkins and any kind of otherkin related to emoticons or apps! I've never seen any like this, but I think it's a cool concept!
So many aspects of my identity are used as insults it's funny, I am literally a gay autistic pussy

I am saying this as someone with crippling social anxiety... I don't think they mean it out of active malice most of the time. They're just clueless and don't know how to react. They're not not the masters of social interaction they're made out to be, no one is! We're all just bumbling clowns on a circus planet
Neurotypical people have a secret, special way of saying "...okay." that saps all the joy from your body and makes you feel like an idiot, and they love to use it when you show them something you're really, really excited about
