Deep Asks That Get Uncomfortably Personal

Played through the Pistis Sophia scene again, trying out all the options as you do. Found out that if you keep disagreeing with him and being suspicious of his motives, there's a point where this happens:

V: No, refuse to let you manipulate me.

Johnny: Huh. Not workin', is it?

Which is... interesting.

I also was reminded that when you answer his promise by saying you'd do the same for him, he has this slightly odd response.

Just this extremely flat, very emotionless "Yeah, thanks."

I don't think that's a mistake. I don't think Keanu misread the tone of the line or there was a lack of direction during recording. With the hindsight that he absolutely will take V's body for a joyride once he gets it, I feel like this scene is very much supposed to be him gently, not without sincerity in parts (because the best lies include the truth, and Johnny is very good at all things charisma skill), manipulating V to get what he wants.

I think the dogtags, the war story, the promise, it wasn't completely untrue, but he deliberately presented it the way he did to get something he wanted. He even led V every way he could to get the "I'd take a bullet for you" admission, which he of course expected and knew he was manipulating out of them, for the purpose of setting up his request to be received as well as possible.

But when V takes it farther than he expected, returning his promise and taking their prior statement from a nebulous hypothetical to a very real declaration about their very real situation, I think Johnny has absolutely no idea what to do with that.

I think that moment is his first pang of regret. I think it's the seed for the talk at the gravesite. I think he can't muster a slick response, this wasn't part of the plan, this wasn't how this was supposed to go.

I mean when they are still out on the balcony and you accuse him, he's angry and has an immediate response. Same with when you thank him, he has a smooth and pretty warmly delivered reply.

But when V says this, his voice goes flat and he barely gets two words out. He goes from leaning forward with open posture and looking right at V to looking away and leaning back, crossing his arms in front of him. And he immediately changes the subject.

Johnny doesn't say *internal panic, existential crisis .exe started*, he says "Yeah, thanks." and I just think that's so beautiful.

That's basically the plot of Johnny xDDD Just that you never get together canon-wise xDDD

It's always "he's a broody bad boy but she can fix him" but never "he's a broody bad boy but he realizes he could be better so he fixes himself through the power of friendship and then happens to become boyfriend material"

Do you think there is a way to mod Johnny’s hair to be his canon blonde hair? Like, I wanna keep Keanu’s style, length and all, just... make it blonde...

Too late (Fiction)

So... I decided to share something with you guys... It used to be a text in French I kept in a sketchbook where I doodle and sometime write things. I remember being in a weird mood when I wrote it xD I translated the text so you can all enjoy. I made it gender neutral too, so if you want, you can picture yourself. So, here ya go folks...

Lifting their head up, they looked into the mirror. They only saw a fuggy miasma, heavy and stifling, wrapping a dark shadow. Glinting eyes followed every move they made, a deep chuckle vibrating through the mirror. The human stood frozen, unable to look away from the scene. Though, after some minutes of mutual staring, the shadow finally spoke up.

A malicious, striking voice, coming from the deepest abysses boomed in the mirror’s glass. Poor human. Every word echoed through their mind, as if hearing once wasn’t enough. They could only listen to those cutting words, still unmoving. “Truth hurts, small one.” Yeah, it was indeed true, most of the time.

Many days passed and many times did the small human came back in front of the mirror, the shadow always there, waiting for them to come back patiently. It knew they would always come back. It knew its prey; it knew them all too well. No secret could be kept hidden, for the shadow knew everything the world could handle.

The small human was curved in the palm of its hand; too naïve to see what was before them. They thought the shadow would always be there for them. Even in their darkest mood, hidden under their cover, they couldn’t see the shadow, but they knew it was near. It was always waiting for them.

One day, from a mutual agreement, they both tied a red thread to their pinkies. From what the shadow said, they now would always be linked together, no matter the distance. They would always be connected, no matter what situation.

The shadow took a lot of space into the human’s life. When needed, it always whispered advices and kept them company. It was peaceful for once, some could say. However, soon the tread became two, then three, then too much. Bound from everywhere, the small human became a puppet for the shadow to play with.

Happy with its successful plan, the shadow toyed with the puppet for some time, enjoying some entertainment. But soon, after some days, it grew tired of them. It was bored already. However, what could it do? The shadow was still bound to the puppet.

One day, an idea popped through the shadow’s mind and with some witchcraft, vipers slowly began gliding down the threads. Hissing their forked tongues, they headed towards the puppet, apprehending their prey.

How beautiful they were. Their charming magnetic eyes, their cold blooded scales, their sharp fangs so deadly opened… The small puppet tried to open their mouth to greet them.

But with synchronized snaps… It was too late.
