If I could impart any wisdom at all from 10 years of working in TV and Film, it would be that literally none of your faves are who you think they are. You don’t know a single celebrity beyond the facade and the performance they put out into the world. Even those candid interviews are crafted and designed to maintain a certain image for the benefit of their career. And none of this is to say that your fave is secretly a complete arsehole, but this weird obsession that so many people have with acting like they personally know and therefore love certain celebrities is incredibly weird to me, not to mention dangerous. So many people, particularly young people, have these bizarrely obsessive online presences dedicated around their favourite celebrities, where they spend hours and hours just tweeting about that person and getting into harassment campaigns on their behalf, and it’s like… your fave literally has no idea who you are. Your fave once sent someone a shitty email because they tried to charge £900 of room service to a production credit card and the production said no. Your fave once tried to make someone else pick up their dog’s shit and nearly set a hotel room on fire. Your fave once trashed their luxury penthouse apartment that they stayed in for free with dirty nappies and rusty nails and refused to pay to have it cleaned. Your fave is just a finite sack of meat, blood and bone. You really, really don’t need to idolise them. You love a persona, not a person, and exalting that just isn’t worth so much of your time and energy.

So true, feels like the hype is gone, most fanartist have moved on to different fandoms, fics are rarely updated, it's so sad :(

Oops, I did it again

Not me restarting another game (yeah, again, with again the same OC) and deciding that this time I’m going to listen to every song that Johnny puts as quests title once you get his engram.

Also, it’s probably been said before, but I love how every quest title is a song except River’s, like it goes back to the way Jackie would name the quests before (The Pick-Up, The Heist, The Ripperdoc, etc.) with “The Hunt”.

My attempt at a cyberpunk 2077 iceberg is complete. I’ve tried to focus on (confirmed) cut content, easter eggs and lesser-known trivia. I know that the lowest tier is usually used for creepypastas and making shit up, but my main goal was to share some trivia and such. I’m 100% sure I’ve forgotten about something, but I was running out of space anyway 😅. These icebergs are highly subjective, so it’s possible that something that’s common knowledge to you is near the bottom, while a new thing to you is at the top. Played through the Pistis Sophia scene again, trying out all the options as you do. Found out that if you keep disagreeing with him and being suspicious of his motives, there's a point where this happens:

V: No, refuse to let you manipulate me.

Johnny: Huh. Not workin', is it?

Which is... interesting.

I also was reminded that when you answer his promise by saying you'd do the same for him, he has this slightly odd response.

Just this extremely flat, very emotionless "Yeah, thanks."

I don't think that's a mistake. I don't think Keanu misread the tone of the line or there was a lack of direction during recording. With the hindsight that he absolutely will take V's body for a joyride once he gets it, I feel like this scene is very much supposed to be him gently, not without sincerity in parts (because the best lies include the truth, and Johnny is very good at all things charisma skill), manipulating V to get what he wants.

I think the dogtags, the war story, the promise, it wasn't completely untrue, but he deliberately presented it the way he did to get something he wanted. He even led V every way he could to get the "I'd take a bullet for you" admission, which he of course expected and knew he was manipulating out of them, for the purpose of setting up his request to be received as well as possible.

But when V takes it farther than he expected, returning his promise and taking their prior statement from a nebulous hypothetical to a very real declaration about their very real situation, I think Johnny has absolutely no idea what to do with that.

I think that moment is his first pang of regret. I think it's the seed for the talk at the gravesite. I think he can't muster a slick response, this wasn't part of the plan, this wasn't how this was supposed to go.

I mean when they are still out on the balcony and you accuse him, he's angry and has an immediate response. Same with when you thank him, he has a smooth and pretty warmly delivered reply.

But when V says this, his voice goes flat and he barely gets two words out. He goes from leaning forward with open posture and looking right at V to looking away and leaning back, crossing his arms in front of him. And he immediately changes the subject.

Johnny doesn't say *internal panic, existential crisis .exe started*, he says "Yeah, thanks." and I just think that's so beautiful.

Heya, people of the Cyberpunk modding community, it’s your girl again...

I’ve been having this issue for a while, but I don’t know how to resolve it. See this picture above? Yeah, that’s my female V being swapped with Alt, I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of people screenshotting/GIFfing this part.

So you can see my problem here. The clipping/glitching hair which ruins the mood 100%. The hair is a mod, I dunno if that’s the reason behind the glitch.

I also used to have the invisible V swap problem, but I found a mod to resolve it, but now I have this little problem, which I would very much have some help on, if there’s even someone who reads this.

So, if anyone has some knowledge and feels like being generous, please help T_T
