Guys - Jinx thought Ekko was dead. She didn’t know he was alive.

So when he came to save her - she thought he was a hallucination just like Silco. She even says the same thing.

To silco when he appears when she’s in prison: “You’re too late.”

To Ekko when he stops her from killing herself: “You’re too late Ekko”

She only realised he was real when she saw him bleeding and when he said “blow us both up.” And when she realised he was actually there, and that setting the bomb off would kill him too, she jumped off the ledge instead.

me after telling myself this morning that i shifted to a reality where my mom let me skip school, and she let me skip school! 😭🙏

Dumb DR idea numero 1

Castlevania DR but you were straight up Isekai'd into the world of Castlevania from this reality. Weather you become a vampire or something else on your arrival is up to you.

Do you have any tips/what are your thoughts for writing on finding the right amount of detail vs too much detail? I’m always nervous about adding detail cause I feel like it’s always too much.

To make it short: you have to decide.

Personally, I always connect details with their importance to the story. Is it important to mention this? Or is it more of a reference? Is it a metaphor? Or is it simply to give the reader a better impression of what I’m picturing?

All together, you have to decide for yourself if your story needs those details and if you want to put them in there.

Some examples:

Albert Camus is pretty straightforward (which goes hand in hand with his philosophy). There are very little details in his writing and it still works. This is an excerpt from The Stranger.

On the other hand:

Edgar Allen Poe’s writing is quite different. He’s describing things in detail, for example here in The Fall of the House of Usher, and this works too.

At the end, you have to decide for yourself what is too much, what will bore your reader or even yourself.

Idea for Shifters

Has anyone ever thought of making a private Tumblr blog for your DR? You could add photos that you scripted into your DR, add info about your DR-self's memories and hobbies, make posts about your friends, family, or S/O, etc.

You could either present it like your actual social media account in your DR, or like a less compact Shifting Script. I feel like this would also be good for shifters who don't like to script for their DRs (which I don't get but whatever works), because instead of it being like a pre-made template, it isn't just filing in the blanks of where you live, what your personality is like, etc.

If you do it this way, it's completely wide open. You could add anything to your side Tumblr that has to do with your Desired Reality at any time, and you wouldn't even have to present the information in order. I personally think it would be really cool, because as someone who really enjoys scripting, I tend to spend too much time on one section and get frustrated and unmotivated.

I think it could also be easier for shifters who have trouble visualizing specific elements of their DR, and the blog could also be a starting point for a DR that the only details you have are the aesthetic, a vague scenario, etc.
