Your life has been pretty normal up until the summer of 1977 when you found out that you have been engaged to someone for most of your life and you never knew until your parents dressed you up and dragged you all the way to the Potter Manor for a dinner party.
You remembered that night very well and desperately wish you didn't because it gives you a headache every time you recall the unfortunate chain of events that leads to you now, attending school with your fiancรฉ whose guts you hated.
"Here we are," your Father announced, stepping out of the fireplace where you three floo'd in and reached his hand out to your Mother who accepted. "That was a smooth trip."
You bite the inside of your cheeks and stepped out as well, running your hand through the skirt of your dress - wondering why you're all dressed up and having dinner with the Potters out of nowhere.ย
Your families have been friends for many generations but you were certain you're not carrying on that tradition - specially when James Potter was one annoying bloke who made a point to be so eccentric and a menace every day he spends at Hogwarts.
Not to mention the whole pining for Evans, what a nuisance. No one cares about his stupid crush, so there was no need to announce every bloody morning! He's so full of himself that he really thinks he's some main character in a novel, prancing around being all charming.
Euphemia and Fleamont Potter came into view,ย greeting your family warmly, and you look around - you haven't been here in a while. The last time you were here was back when you were 11 and very eager to go to Hogwarts.
"Lovely to see you again, dear." Mia greeted you, giving you a hug which you awkwardly returned by patting her back and you stepped back - spying James come into the living room and you raise a brow.
He dressed up as well, all pampered-looking in a suit and his messy hair looks a bit on the tame side this evening. He caught you staring and frowned at you, you only rolled your eyes at him and turned to your parents and his striking up a conversation.
"Well, no need to stand here - come to the dining room," Fleamont gestured to the hallway. "We've prepared lots."
"You really didn't have to." Your Mum chuckled, but began following them anyway.ย
"Nonsense! Anything for such important guests."
The adults left the room and you cross your arms, turning back to James. "You actually look decent, congrats." you tell him, despite yourself.
He frowns at that - he recognizes you. He's sure he's known you before Hogwarts but that was only because your family and his got along well, and that was it. You never interacted at Hogwarts. He has no idea why you dislike him so.
He thought he was very likable.
"Thank you?"ย
You began walking away, heading towards the voices of the adults chatting in the dining room and you entered - making them all turn to you and James was right behind you, you can only feel nervous when you see the look your Mother had on her face, seeing you with James.
You take a seat at the table and the night progressed normally. You had dinner and the adults engaged themselves in random conversations about the wizarding world while you and James stayed quiet.
He was mostly busy trying to figure out why you seem to dislike him, and he keeps coming up blank. While you tried your hardest to remain civil and not tell him off for staring at you the entire time, looking so conflicted.
"Now that dinner's out of the way, it's time we actually discuss the reason we're all here today." Fleamont announced, making you turn to him.
"You're right, it's time." Your Father agreed, lightly dabbing his lips with a napkin.
"Dad? What's going on?" You ask, frowning at your Mum who only smiled at you.
"Yeah, what's up?" James asked.ย
"Well, you only have one year left at Hogwarts - so we thought it's finally time to discuss the wedding."
You felt your hand grow colder and the hairs at the back of your neck stand, you struggled to speak and was glad James took over that for you.ย This can't be happening.
"What wedding?"
"Yours, of course. You two have been engaged for quite a long time," Mia clapped her hands excitedly. "We thought it was time to discuss."
"What?" You choked out.
"Oh don't you worry, dear. There's no rush, we only want to start preparing to make sure everything goes well and you two have the best wedding."
You blink, unable to form a proper sentence, and didn't notice how all the feelings left your arms when you dropped your fork and it clanked loudly against your plate. James was watching you - realizing you also had no idea.
"We're engaged?" James asked. "Since when?"
"Did you forget?" Fleamont asked his son,ย a deep frown on his wrinkled face.
"You proposed when you were ten," Mia answered for him. "I could never forget the way you got down on one knee and offered a flower to _____ here."
You felt your chest burn and your vision began blurring, this is all too much and definitely not what you expected. You couldn't even make this up in your literal nightmares. How does one even act in this situation?
"I proposed when I was ten and you think - I still want to marry her?" James was stunned beyond all reasons, he couldn't even process it entirely. He knew his parents were a bit much but he didn't think they'd be able to pull this off.
"It was in your oath, was it not?" Mia frowned. "I do recall your little speech about not looking at any other girl for the rest of your life."
Despite the horror that is your engagement to James Potter - in your very shaken state, you feel the tension release from your shoulders and you began laughing. Laughing at the irony of it all, some oath that was!
You've been engaged for most your life and never knew because you never thought your parents and his would take that seriously? Specially when it was made 7 years ago and one of his oaths was to never look at another girl - when he's spent all his years in Hogwarts pining for one redhead.
You remembered. Unlike him, you kept that promise in mind - but not once in your wildest dreams could you have predicted this outcome
Everyone at the table was too stunned by your reaction, none of them able to say or do anything except James when he saw the tears brimming in your eyes. Aside the laughter, you were about to cry both from frustration and from laughing too hard.
He got up, chair scraping against the polished floor, and went around the table to assist you, pulling the chair out for you and ushering you away from the dining table. Your laughter died down as James got up to go around the table to escort you off your seat.
"I'll calm her down," he nods at the adults and began steering you away from their prying eyes. "We'll be in my room."
You let him guide you down the halls, you still had tears in your cheeks and you quickly wipe them away - feeling embarrassed and stayed quiet as you enter his room. He gestured for you to take a seat on his bed and you did.
Looking around to find his room to be surprisingly organized. Barely any posters on the wall, just a framed poster of his favourite Quidditch team, bookshelves lining the walls and his bed was a bright red and gold.
"Feeling better?" He asked, shrugging his coat off and throwing it over the chair next to a bookshelf. Throwing a look over his shoulder to watch you sit stiffly on his bed.
"No." You answer, fiddling with your fingers on your lap. "What the bloody hell was that?"
"I could have asked you the same thing."ย
"Not my breakdown - the engagement."
He paused, turning to you and seeing how shaken up you still are over the whole thing, and he felt bad. He admits he was taken aback by the entire thing as well, but given your treatment of him earlier, he could sense that you weren't too fond of him.
And now you found out you're engaged to him.
"I have no idea, if I'm being honest." James shook his head - about to ask you something when a knock on his door made him look away from you. He walked over and opened it, Sirius Black is standing outside with a grin.
"What did I miss?" He asked, peering through his shoulders and his jaw going slack when he saw a figure of a girl on James' bed and audibly gasped.ย
James shrugged and opened the door wider, allowing Sirius to enter his room and shut the door closed behind him. Sirius took slow and careful steps, slowly drinking in your appearance and frowning when he recognized you.
"Meet my fiancรฉe, mate." James threw his hand to gesture to you lazily and you scoff at him.
"What? Fian - what?" Sirius exchanged glances between you two and could feel his thoughts spiral from confusion. "Are you two messing with me?"
You groan into your palms. "I wish."
"I don't understand."
"How about you take a seat first, mate?" James offered and you watched as he settled on the beanbag chair.
It was no secret that Sirius Black ran away from home and has been living with the Potters who warmly welcomed him into their family. You did feel pity for the boy, he was too young to be going through something so difficult and you can't say you understood his struggles.
You didn't have the world's greatest parents but they weren't abusive, just terrible at providing a child the emotional support they needed. They were too caught up with work that they forgot a child didn't just need clothes, food on the table and a house to live in.
You do admire their friendship - something you can't relate to. You have friends from your house but you can't say you've formed a bond with anyone similar to the one Sirius Black and James Potter has.
It was almost disgusting how close these two are - their personalities fit so well and they look damn good next to each other. Still, you have a lingering distate for Sirius Black and his. . .endeavours all around the castle that never failed to reach your ears.
But even if you didn't hear about it - you'll see it. Down the halls, during meals and even while you did your rounds.ย
It's probably bad etiquette of you as a Prefect but you really don't bother with him at all. The moment you spy that long black hair in the dark halls after curfew - you just turn the other direction and go about your night, forgetting you even saw it.
Sparing yourself the awkwardness of it all. You didn't exactly fancy interrupting students making out - they always glare like you just deprived them of their greatest plasure and it's just overall disturbing to stand there, waiting for them to fix their appearances and then having to escort them back to their dorms.
You'll leave that job to the others.
After letting James explain the whole situation to Black who just got back from Lupin's - you three sat down in his room in silence. No one knowing what to do. Because what do you even do after finding out you've basically been engaged to someone all your life?
And your parents are expecting to plan a wedding before you even graduate from school?
You sat on James' bed while he and Sirius occupied the bean bag chairs and talked amongst themselves. You felt too out of it to join their conversation and only listened in, occasionally making a comment.
"How about Evans, then?"
"What about her?" You ask, allowing yourself to fall backwards and land on the soft bed with a quiet thud, your hair sprawling on his bright red sheets and James frowned at you from where he sat.
He didn't exactly expect you to grow comfortable in his room - given how you acted towards him earlier.
"Well - Prongs here has been in love with her," Sirius points. "And-"
"Blood hell, I know that," you yelled, interrupting him and made the two boys jump from your sudden outburst. "I went to school with you for years, I bloody well know he's in love with her. He practically announce it every damn day!"
The two boys were stunned, growing silent as they watch you and you only stare at the ceiling, feeling your irritation travel up and down your spine.
"What I'm asking is why should she be in the discussing when we're talking about my future here," you roll to your side and raise a brow at them. "Who cares about Evans right now? I'm bloody engaged to - that."
James abruptly stood up, walking over to the bed and looking down at you with a conflicted expression on his face. "Do you have a problem with me?"
You roll on your back again and prop yourself up to look him up and down. And he has to admit that the way you treat him was starting to grind his gears, he can't recall ever offending you intentionally or not.
He knows their pranks often get out of hand and innocent bystanders are affected but you didn't stand otu at all so he must've never ran into you while at Hogwarts but for some reasons - you don't like him.
And everyone likes him - except, Slytherins, but that's it.
He's practically the golden boy. Pureblood, rich, good-looking, has great friends and has amazing skills as a wizard.
What did he ever do to you?
"Yeah, do you have a problem with him?"
"Piss off, Black." You said through gritted though you kept your eyes on James.
"Have I offended you somehow?" He asks and you raised a brow.
Merlin, he hates this. You're looking at him like he's the most offensive thing you've ever seen in your life, and it's making his skin crawl. How were you two childhood friends again?
"I don't know, Potter. Have you?"
He's growing frustrated and you are not helping ease him into the situation.
"I'm pretty sure my mate here asked you politely."
You get up from the bed, crossing your arms and switching your glare to Black, who also stood up and is staring you down. You flash him a sarcastic smirk.
"I heard him, there's really no need to sit him on your lap and act as his caregiver - " You roll your eyes and stood your ground despite the sight of an angry Sirius Black taking a step forward. James reached his arm out to stop Sirius. "Control your guard dog, Potter."
"Merlin, what is with you?" James asked exasperatedly.
You turn back to him and see the brewing anger in those hazel eyes through the rim of his glasses and smile, one that was void of any happiness of any form.
"There it is,ย good. Keeping disliking me, will make this whole ordeal worse for me, and I can have a valid argument to back out of this engagement." You begin heading for the door and turn the knob. "After all, who would want to marry someone they hate?"
You shut the door closed after you, and the two Gryffindors are left stunned, standing in the bedroom. Left to exchange confused stares and the awkward silence that followed was almost deafening.
Boarding the train back to Hogwarts - you can only roll your eyes at the list of Prefects you had in your hand. James Potter got Headboy instead of Lupin, and it was the stupidest news you've received, right under the engagement.
You didn't have it in you to argue with your parents, so you were leaving that up to James. He's the golden boy, spoiled rotten by his parents, so surely he can get you both out of this while you lived your life as if it never happened.
You sat in the Prefects' carriage waiting for everyone else, the only ones already present is some Slytherin Prefect whose name you didn't know, so you kept quiet, reading the list and rolling your eyes at Lily Evans getting Headgirl.
Dumbledore did this on purpose.
You kept your eyes on the parchment, scanning names, even as a few more students entered the carriage and you felt someone sit next to you. You swiftly flickered your gaze to spot the bold colour of red on their robe.
"I was looking for you all over the train." You turn your head to find James Potter sitting next to you, on the Prefects carriage - Lupin right beside him watching the exchange.
"And why would that be?" You frown at him, shaking your head lightly before turning back to the parchment and found your counterpart as a seventh-year Prefect will be Oliver Klove. You're not close, but he's really smart and he performs well in class - should be fine to do rounds with him.
"We didn't get to finish our talk - and you didn't respond to my letters." You could almost hear a pout at the end of that sentence.
"Take a hint then." You shrug lightly and rolled the parchment up, tucking it inside the pocket in your robes right next to your wand and keeping your eyes ahead as the door opened - there walked in Lily Evans in all her glory.
Wearing her uniform properly and despite it looking like everyone else's, she carried it like it was her own and her beautiful red hair swayed as she walked in and took a seat next to a Hufflepuff Prefect. Her curious stares pointed at James next to you did not go unnoticed.
Her eyes skimmed your figure as well but she must've quickly registered that you were watching her as well when she fixed her posture and turned to chatting with the Hufflepuff next to her.
"I get you don't like me but we still have to talk about our bloody en - "
"Okay," you interrupt him. "But let's not talk here, after dinner - I'll be waiting in the Astronomy Tower."
With that, he was satisfied, and he kept his mouth shut until the carriage was full and it was time for both Headgirl and Headboy to commence the orientation. Welcoming fifth-year Prefects who are new to the Prefect duties and addressing the rest.
As expected, Evans was flawless. Establishing her authority but remained a friendly figure, all the while handing off the schedule of rounds, and Potter didn't do too bad next to her. They looked like the picture-perfect couple in their matching robes and with them both being gorgeous people.
James handed you your rounds schedule and you sucked in an exasperated breath through gritted teeth - all your rounds were paired up with his. You lift your gaze from the schedule and spy him adorning a smirk as he went around handing off the others' schedules.
This bloody arse.
Dinner was uneventful - Dumbledore delivered his usual speech, congratulating Gryffindor for producing this year's Headgirl and Headboy and you can only roll your eyes at the obvious favouritism.
You ate dinner quietly despite the bustling great hall. Friends catching up about their summers and discussing Christmas plans, you chose not to partake. Your mind was occupied with the thoughts of James Potter.
You're meeting him in the tower later, and you have no idea what to tell him. How do you even explain all your thoughts and feelings about him in a way that he'd understand and in a way that won't embarrass you?
You actually think you'd rather die than admit the truth as to why you seem vexed by his existence.
Dinner finally ended - you make your way around the castle, carefully making your way around and finally reaching your destination. You expected to wait for him so you brought a book to keep you occupied but you spied him on top of the stairs as you made your way up.
Once reaching the top, you walked past him and quietly addressed him with your gaze before speaking.
"Potter."
Merlin, he really feels weird around you. And he can't tell if it's in a good way or a bad way - you talk to him as if he's some mild inconvenience you couldn't shake off but still disliked nonetheless. As if he was a tiny rock inside your shoe that you could feel with every step, but also barely there to bring absolute discomfort.
He's never been treated this way. It's either he was greatly liked (his friends, fellow Gryffindor and fangirls) or greatly disliked (Evans, Slytherins and otherer purists not agreeing with his tolerance for muggleborns and half-bloods).
You were in between, but leaning more on the dislike side, and he doesn't know what to make of it. You sparked something in him and he couldn't just shrug it off, he needs to know just why you have an evident frown every time you look at him.
"_____." He greeted back.
"I didn't read any of your letters, so I have no idea what you want to talk about," you admit with a shrug. "Why did you mess with my rounds?"
James leaned against the wall coolly, crossing his arms and flashing that infamous smirk on his face. "I don't know whatever you mean."
Annoying you further will probably not help his case but he couldn't help it. He oddly feels excited when you dismiss him with that incredulous look on your face and the look of distaste painting your features.
It was very much unlike with Evans - when it would genuinely hurt every time she rejected his advances, but you seemed fun to him.
He's unfamiliar with all this so he's willing to explore, how convenient is it that you're engaged so there's no escaping him?
You deadpan at him, trying to read that stupid expression on his face to understand the current your situation you're in, but ultimately got nothing. James Potter was a hard act to follow, actually - his entire squad is.
You'd rather decipher ancient runes all day than try and figure out just what is going on inside the mind of a Marauder.
"There's no way Evans would agree to that, did you falsify my rounds?" You ask, raising a brow and he dramatically scoffed in offence.
"My, what a bold accusation," James tilted his head slightly to the side. "Actually, she agreed."
"She did?"
"Gave her an offer she couldn't refuse."
"What could you possibly offer Evans that she'd want?" You ask, chuckling and stepping forward to level gazes with him.
He wasn't backing down, however. He pushed himself off the wall with his feet and stepped forward, looking down at you with a glint of challenge in his eyes that appeared a dark brown in the little light the Astronomy Tower offered.
"I offered her peace," James grinned. "Promised to leave her alone until the Christmas break if she matched our rounds."
Your jaw went slack at his words - your brain almost short-circuiting and it enticed him to know that caught you off guard. You parted your lips but no words came out and he could take a picture to live in this moment forever.
He's been thinking of so many ways all summer to get back at you. You ignored all his letters and avoided him on the train like he expected - this was a good enough payback for that, he revelled in your stunned expression until you recovered and regained your composure.
"Why sacrifice such a sacred tradition?" You ask, voice laced with distaste and sarcasm.
"And here I thought my fiancรฉe would like it better if I stopped pining for another girl."
He didn't expect that to strike a chord in you. You stepped back, feeling your chest burn from both the pain and the anger bubbling inside you, and sent a harsh glare his way.
"I am not your fiancรฉe, don't ever call me that again."
He could tell you were genuinely upset now, but still it didn't stop him. He still found it in himself to close the distance between you two and raise a brow.
"Sure thing, Wife."

sirius black being the cockiest mf ever trying to impress his crush and she is not impressed in the slightest to the point he starts getting really shy around her because he no longer knows how to act if his usual bravado doesn't work

Sirius Black was a charmer. That was for certain. Rumors spread like the plague of his roughish ways. You were not a fan of him, which was unfortunate for you because he was a fan of you. Constantly. Every chance he would get, he would flirt you up in the hallway.
โHey y/n, what are you doing later?โ He would ask you. You replied with, โMcGonagallโs transfiguration essay.โ
Sirius just smirked and returned with his cocky banter, โThatโs a shame, I wish youโd do me instead.โ He grinned, James and Peter behind him laughing.
It wasnโt genuine, or at least thatโs how you felt. You rolled your eyes and replied with, โYou wish, Black. In your dreams.โ
You walked away with out seeing or hearing Siriusโ response. It frustrated you to no end that he would joke that way. You wanted to save him the trouble. He was obnoxious and too cocky for your own liking.
You missed when he was sweet and genuine. Not the popular boy that has become a staple at Hogwarts.
Sirius on the other hand, genuinely did want you. But no other tactic had gotten him a date. The rumors were misconstrued and he put on a cocky front. But in reality he was just as shy and dorky as he used to be.
One night after a hogsmeade trip, you were reading in the Gryffindor common room. It was a nice quiet night by the fire place. But all of a sudden, Sirius showed up, sat in an arm chair near you and started playing with wizarding cards.
โCould you keep that down?โ You asked him, looking up from your book.
You expected a witty and cocky calculated response, but instead Sirius looked flushed. He ran a hand through this shiny hair and nodded, a little shy.
He gave up on impressing you and being so boastful. What did he have to lose? โYeah sure, sorry.โ He replied.
Siriusโ response continued to surprise you. Where were his annoyingly witty comments and jokes? Why wasnโt he flirting?
โAre you okay?โ You asked, now a little confused.
โYeah Iโm fine,โ he replied, lookin over at you. In his mind you looked so beautiful sitting by the fire. โUrmโactually I wanted to apologize. For making you so upset. I just think youโre really pretty an all. But Iโm taking the hint and Iโll stop.โ
He sounded so sweet about it and vulnerable. This was the Sirius you liked. The genuine one.
You smiled softly, โThank you for the apology Sirius. I appreciate it. But you really think Iโm pretty?โ You asked.
He nodded, continuing to be sincere in his response. โYeah, could never take my eyes off you love?โ He said. It was straightforward and flirty but absolutely adorable and dorky.
You blushed. Why couldnโt be t he like this all the time?
โI like you like this.โ You said, with a small smile. Sirius flushed.
โY-you-u do?โ He asked, a little surprised. This was the first time youโd shown him affection.
โYeah. I mean when you arenโt being so boastful and cocky around me. I like the genuine you, Sirius.โ You said.
With that, he sat up and walked over to the couch. He sat next you and both were facing each other.
โSooo, I guess what youโre saying is???โ He teased. You lightly pushed him and laughed.
โIโm saying if you tried to ask me out in a less boastful way. I would say yes.โ You explained, blushing.
Sirius felt like heโd won the jackpot. โReally?! Uh I mean oh thatโs cool.โ He said, earning another giggle out of you.
โY/n, will you go out with me?โ He asked, sincerely.
You nodded, โYes Sirius, I will.โ

It was now nearing the end of the school yearโeven if there was still a month to go. James could now be in the same room as you without glaring daggers at whoever you were talking to. Though he told himself he was over you, he knew deep down that the feelings never faded.
He told himself it didnโt matter. He told himself he was fine. And yet, every time he caught sight of you, every time your laughter reached his ears from across the room, it was as if someone had set fire to his resolve.
He wanted to talk to you so badly it was almost pathetic. But it was like the universe itself was conspiring against himโor, more specifically, like Finn Laurier had developed some sort of sixth sense for Jamesโs intentions.
Because every single time James gathered enough courage, every time he braced himself to walk over to you, Finn would appear out of nowhere. Whether it was in the Great Hall, the library, or even during Quidditch practice, Finn always seemed to materialize by your side at precisely the wrong moment, stealing away your attention and leaving James feeling like the outsider in his own story.
It was infuriating.
โMate, youโre grinding your teeth,โ Sirius remarked casually one afternoon as they sat under the beech tree by the lake.
James startled, realizing with some embarrassment that Sirius was right. He quickly unclenched his jaw and let out a frustrated sigh.
โSorry,โ he muttered, running a hand through his messy hair. โIโm justโฆโ
โJust what?โ Sirius prompted, raising an eyebrow.
โNothing,โ James lied, though his voice betrayed him.
Sirius gave him a knowing look. โIf this is about her again, justโโ
โItโs not about her,โ James interrupted quickly, though he winced as the words left his mouth. He knew Sirius wouldnโt believe him, and he wasnโt sure he even believed himself anymore.
Sirius sighed, shaking his head. โProngs, youโre going to drive yourself mad if you keep this up. Just talk to her already.โ
โIโve tried!โ James snapped, louder than he intended. He lowered his voice and added, โIโve tried, but every bloody time, Finn shows up. Itโs like heโs got a bloody tracker on her or something.โ
Remus, who had been quietly reading nearby, finally chimed in. โYou know, maybe youโre overthinking this,โ he said, not looking up from his book.
โHow could I possibly be overthinking this?โ James demanded, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
โMaybe Finnโs not doing it on purpose,โ Remus suggested calmly. โMaybe itโs just bad timing.โ
โBad timing?โ James repeated incredulously. โBad timing doesnโt happen this often, Moony. This is a pattern.โ
Remus gave him a skeptical look but didnโt argue further.
James leaned back against the tree trunk, closing his eyes and letting out a long breath. He hated how much this was bothering him. He hated how much control this entire situation had over him.
But most of all, he hated the thought that you might actually be happy with Finn.
It wasnโt that he thought Finn was a bad guyโquite the opposite, really. Finn was charming, talented, and annoyingly good at everything he did. He was the kind of guy parents adored, the kind of guy professors went out of their way to praise. And worst of all, he was the kind of guy who could make you smile in a way James had only dreamed of.
James opened his eyes, staring up at the branches overhead. โMaybe I should just give up,โ he muttered.
Sirius snorted. โYeah, right. Thatโs the most ridiculous thing youโve said all day.โ
โIโm serious,โ James insisted.
โNo, Iโm Sirius,โ Sirius quipped, smirking.
James groaned, throwing a small pebble in his direction. โNot the time for jokes.โ
โFine, fine,โ Sirius said, holding up his hands in mock surrender. โBut seriously, youโre not giving up. Youโre James Potter, remember? Stubborn, arrogant, never-takes-no-for-an-answer James Potter. You donโt give up on things you care about.โ
James hesitated, staring at the rippling water of the Black Lake. He wanted to believe Sirius. He wanted to believe that there was still a chance, that you werenโt as far out of reach as you seemed.
But as he watched you across the courtyard later that day, standing beside Finn and laughing at something he said, James couldnโt shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, it was too late.
But his doubt soon melted into something far more unsettling when he noticed your gaze shift. For the first time in what felt like forever, your attention wasnโt on Finn Laurierโit was on him.
James felt like he might throw up.
His heartbeat thundered in his ears, and his hands fidgeted with the hem of his robes as he quickly looked away. In fact, he didnโt just look away; he turned his entire body in the opposite direction, hoping to mask the flush rising to his cheeks.
โCโmon, James, youโve got a Quidditch game to win today! Channel all that anger youโve got towards Laurier into winning us the Cup!โ Sirius said, clapping a hand on Jamesโs shoulder with his trademark grin.
James gave a faint nod, trying to let Siriusโs words sink in. He wasnโt sure if it would work, but he had to admitโfocusing on Quidditch might be better than brooding.
As the match began, Siriusโs advice started to help. Flying through the air, the roar of the crowd, and the adrenaline coursing through his veins almost made him forget the mess he was tangled in. Quidditch always had a way of making the weight on his shoulders feel lighter.
Almost.
At first, he wasnโt paying much attention to the game. His mind wandered back to you, back to everything that had gone wrong. He thought about what he would say, how he could even begin to fix things. And, like always, he couldnโt resist scanning the crowd for you.
Even in the middle of a fight, even when he swore to himself that he was done, James always looked for you in the stands.
And he found youโright where he didnโt want to.
You were sitting with Finn Laurier, your hand clasped in his. Jamesโs stomach twisted painfully at the sight, and he forced himself to look away, though the image burned into his mind.
Of course. Finn fucking Laurier.
He sighed, his grip tightening on his broomstick. There was no point in hoping anymore. Whatever chance heโd hadโif heโd ever had oneโwas gone now. Maybe heโd already been downgraded in your life: a friend at best, a stranger at worst. The thought stung, and James shoved it down, refusing to dwell on it any longer.
And then, something golden caught the corner of his eye.
The Snitch.
For the first time all game, Jamesโs focus snapped into place. He leaned forward on his broom, his heart poundingโnot from heartbreak this time, but from the sheer rush of competition. If nothing else, he could still win this. He could still bring home the Cup.
James shot after the Snitch with everything he had, the rush of wind against his face only fueling his determination. The crowd roared, but their voices blurred into the background. His world narrowed to one thing: the golden glimmer darting just ahead.
The Hufflepuff Seeker was hot on his trail, but James barely registered them. This was his moment. The Snitch veered sharply to the right, and James followed, his reflexes razor-sharp. He could feel the weight of his emotionsโanger, heartbreak, frustrationโall pouring into this chase.
The Snitch dipped low, skimming just above the grass, and James dove after it, his fingers outstretched. The Hufflepuff Seeker was closing in fast, but James didnโt care. He pushed his broom harder, faster, his body leaning forward so much it felt like he might fall off.
And then, his fingers closed around the Snitch.
The Gryffindor stands erupted into cheers, deafening and jubilant. The sound echoed across the pitch as James pulled up, the Snitch held high in triumph. For the first time all week, a genuine smile broke across his face.
Heโd done it.
Back on the ground, his teammates swarmed him, yelling and celebrating as they lifted him off the ground in a flurry of hugs and pats on the back. Sirius was the loudest, of course, laughing as he shouted, โThatโs my best mate! Did you see that dive? Bloody brilliant!โ
James grinned, allowing himself to soak in the moment. But as the initial adrenaline rush faded, his thoughts drifted back to you.
Through the crowd, he spotted you walking toward the castle with Laurier. You looked happyโlaughing at something Finn said, your hand still in his.
Jamesโs chest tightened, the pain creeping back in.
Sirius slung an arm around his shoulders. โOi, donโt let that git ruin your moment. You just won us the Cup, Prongs. Focus on that, yeah?โ
James forced a nod, plastering a smile on his face. โYeah. Youโre right.โ
But deep down, as the team carried him back to the common room, the ache lingered. Winning the match had been a distraction, but it wasnโt enough to erase what he felt for youโor the sting of seeing you with someone else.
Still, James promised himself one thing: heโd get through this. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually. And who knew? Maybe, someday, youโd see him the way he saw you.
The Gryffindor common room was a chaotic blur of red and gold, filled with triumphant cheers and laughter. The moment the team returned from the pitch, the party was already in full swing. Someone had charmed a banner to flash "Gryffindor Wins the Cup!" in shimmering letters, and butterbeer bottles floated around the room, courtesy of a cheeky charm from Sirius.
James stood in the center of it all, grinning as his teammates and housemates patted him on the back and congratulated him. For a brief moment, he allowed himself to bask in the glory of the victory, letting it drown out the knot in his chest. Heโd won the game, and Gryffindor had the Cupโhe deserved to enjoy it.
โProngs!โ Sirius yelled over the noise, shoving a butterbeer into his hand. โYouโre the man of the hour! You better milk this for all itโs worth, because Merlin knows you deserve it.โ
James laughed, shaking his head. โDonโt let me hear you say that too often, Padfoot. I might start believing it.โ
Sirius gave him a devilish grin. โOh, you will. Now, cโmon, letโs make some noise!โ He climbed onto a table, raising his bottle high. โTo Prongs, our Quidditch hero!โ
The room erupted in cheers, and James couldnโt help but laugh, taking a sip of his butterbeer as the noise washed over him. For the first time all day, he felt lighter.
As the party went on, James moved through the crowd, chatting and laughing with his housemates. But no matter how loud the celebration got, his eyes kept drifting to the door, half-hoping, half-dreading to see you walk in.
And then, you did.
James froze mid-conversation, his heart doing that familiar stutter-step it always did when he saw you. You looked radiant, wrapped in Gryffindor colors, your cheeks flushed from the cold. But his chest tightened when he noticed Laurier trailing behind you, his hand resting casually on the small of your back.
James quickly turned back to his conversation, forcing a smile and pretending not to notice. He wasnโt going to let Finn Laurierโor his own stupid feelingsโruin the night.
โOi, Prongs,โ Sirius said, appearing at his side again. โStop moping and do something fun. We just won the bloody Cup, mate! At least pretend youโre having the time of your life.โ
James forced another grin. โI am having fun, Padfoot. Loads of fun.โ
Sirius narrowed his eyes. โYouโre staring at her again, arenโt you?โ
โIโm not,โ James lied, taking a long sip of butterbeer.
Sirius groaned, grabbing James by the shoulders. โLook, hereโs what youโre going to do. Youโre going to stop torturing yourself, and youโre going to have a bloody fantastic time tonight. And if that doesnโt work, weโll prank Laurier so hard he wonโt know which way is up. Deal?โ
James couldnโt help but laugh at that, shaking his head. โAlright, deal.โ
Hours later, the party was still going strong. Someone had turned the music up, and the common room had transformed into a dance floor. James found himself dragged into the middle of it by Lily Evans, who gave him a pointed look.
โStop sulking, Potter,โ she said, smirking. โYou just won the Cup. Act like it.โ
โIโm not sulking,โ James said, though his half-hearted smile gave him away.
Lily raised an eyebrow but didnโt press further. Instead, she tugged him into the rhythm of the music, and for a while, James let himself get lost in the moment.
It wasnโt until he caught sight of you again, laughing at something Laurier said, that the knot in his chest returned. He took a deep breath, plastered on another smile, and decided that, for tonight, heโd keep pretending.
He watched you from across the room as you and Laurier continued talking, laughter bubbling between you two. He could see the way you looked at him nowโso different from the way you looked at him before. It was like there was a barrier, a wall that hadnโt been there when he first met you.
โProngs,โ Sirius appeared at his side again, his voice low and concerned. โLook, I know youโve been through a lot, but this is ridiculous. Youโre letting Laurier ruin your nightโand you just won us the Cup, for Merlinโs sake. Youโre allowed to be happy tonight. So go talk to her. If you donโt, I swear Iโll do it for you.โ
James frowned at him, irritated. โIโm not talking to her, Pads. Not now.โ
โThen at least get out of here and enjoy yourself,โ Sirius pressed. โWeโre celebrating, mate. Youโve earned it.โ
James looked over at you one more time, and for a second, he almost gave in. But the knot in his chest was still there, tightly wound, and it made everything feel so much harder than it shouldโve been.
But maybe... maybe he could find a way to feel better. Maybe he could lose himself in the celebration.
โIโll think about it,โ he finally muttered, glancing at his friends.
Sirius didnโt seem convinced but let out an exaggerated sigh. โFine, but Iโm not letting you go off and brood in some corner. The whole bloody schoolโs celebrating with you tonight.โ
James smirked faintly, feeling a little lighter. Maybe he could pretend to be okay, at least for tonight. He could let the victory, the laughter, and his friends drown out the ache for just a little while longer.
But as the night continued, and as the music played on, James found himself once again looking toward the doorway, hopingโjust hopingโthat youโd look his way.
For the first time in forever, the world was finally on his side as he saw you quickly leaving Finn and walking straight to him.
โMay I speak to you, please?โ James nodded, Dumbfounded.ย
You quickly grabbed his hand and went outside the common room and into the corridors.ย
You took a deep breath, your fingers twisting nervously. โJamesโฆ Iโve been meaning to talk to you for a while now.โ
Jamesโs throat went dry, his pulse quickening as he struggled to find his voice. โYeah?โ
You nodded, glancing down at your hands before meeting his gaze. โIโIโm sorry.โ
That wasnโt what he had expected. Of all the scenarios heโd played out in his head, an apology hadnโt been one of them.
โFor what?โ he asked, genuine confusion coloring his voice.
โFor everything,โ you said in a rush, your words tumbling out before you could stop them. โFor avoiding you. I was confusedโabout what I did that made you ignore me. And I guess I wanted to get back at you for ignoring me, so I decided to do the same to you. Andโฆ Iโm sorry for whatever happened between us that made things so weird.โ
James stared at you, your vulnerability hitting him like a Bludger to the chest. His heart ached at the uncertainty in your voice.
โYou donโt have to apologize,โ he said quickly, shaking his head.
โYes, I do,โ you insisted, your voice firm despite the tears welling in your eyes.
โNo, you donโt,โ James countered, his tone soft yet resolute. โItโs not fair to put all of this on yourself. Youโve always been there for me, and Iโwell, Iโve been a terrible friend lately. I was practically acting like you didnโt exist.โ
James faltered when he saw the blank expression on your face. Panic flickered in his chestโhad he said too much?
But before he could say anything more, you stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him.
โOh, James,โ you murmured into his shoulder. โItโs okay. IโI was acting like you didnโt exist too, but only because you were doing it to me.โ
He blinked, caught off guard, before slowly relaxing into the hug. He looked down at you, his hand instinctively reaching up to brush away a stray tear trailing down your cheek.
โIโm sorry,โ he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
You shook your head, a small, watery smile breaking through. โWeโre both sorry. Letโs justโฆ not do this anymore, okay?โ
James nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips. โDeal.โ
โIt feels so much better having my best friend around again.โ Jamesโ smile faltered again, he never liked the word โbest friendโ when it came to you, he always wanted more.
โDefinitelyโ
You two let each other talk for what felt like hours even though it was barely fifteen minutes. He enjoyed every second though, until you brought up Finn and future plans they may include him. He couldn't believe it, when had your parents met his? He remembers your dad telling him how much he was rooting you and him to be together, now he's okay with you dating some other dude? And worst of all, your father was okay with that same dude wanting to marry his daughter? James felt like throwing up.
โThen he said that my father laid it out on a silver platter.โ
โLaid... what out on a platter?โ
โMy future! Gave him the blessing to...to propose. I don't know what to do.โ
โYou told me you donโt mind being married straight after Hogwarts if you truly loved the man. That being a wife and mother... is your dream. Finn is.. nice, and both of your guysโ parents are supportive. I don't understand. What's holding you back?โ
โJustโฆ one thing.โ
โWhat am I supposed to do? Everyone else is just... moving on, and now youโre... and Iโm still... We never even... And heโs there, and youโreโMerlin, youโre never going to find someone whoโโ James stopped, his voice cracking. โI know that much, so how... how am I supposed to... I canโt... Iโ We...โ
Before you could speakโa drunk Sirius somehow found you two. โWoah James you're really speaking to her? Atta boy, now, let's get back to the party, cmon, we are going to do something cool, have you heard of ....โ Sirius rambled on, tugging on Jamesโ arm to drag him back to the party.
โIโll be off, then.โ You said, voice quivering as if hesitant to leave.
All James could think about was the previous nightโthe talk you two had shared. Your words, your voice, the hesitation in your eyesโit all replayed in his mind like a haunting melody. What wouldโve happened if Sirius hadnโt barged in, if James had told him to leave, if heโd been brave enough to stay in that moment with you?
โI thinkโฆโ James began, his voice breaking as he paced the Gryffindor dormitory, โI think she mightโve been asking if I love her. Andโand I think I told her to marry someone else.โ
Sirius, slouched in the chair by the window, looked stricken. โMateโฆโ he started, his tone heavy with guilt. โIf Iโd knownโif I knew what was happeningโI wouldnโt have gone looking for you. IโI practically ruined your chances. Merlin, Iโm so, so sorry.โ
James stopped pacing, running a hand through his already-messy hair. โIt doesnโt matter. I donโt even know if she meant it. She said so much without really saying anything, and now I donโt know if I imagined it all.โ
โโSure, take option two,โ when option one is all she wants for her future?โ James muttered, his voice thick with frustration.
โWhat is option one?โ Peter asked, his curiosity breaking the tension.
James scoffed, bitterness creeping into his tone. โItโs Finn, obviously.โ He paused, his anger flaring. โBut both their parents support it, and she told me that! Before she spilled all of that on me, we were talking and laughing like nothing was wrong. But nowโฆโ He exhaled sharply, his voice softening as he sat down on the edge of his bed. โNow it feels like Iโm being asked to explain the rest of my life on a bloody ticking clock. And if I make the wrong decision, Iโve either ruined my lifeโor hers.โ
The room fell silent. Sirius and Peter exchanged uneasy glances, while Remus seemed lost in thought, unsure of how to respond.

Meanwhile, you had confided in your mother about your plans the night before: to finally tell the man you truly loved how you felt. You hadnโt wanted to bring it up while you and James were laughing and enjoying each otherโs company, but you knew if you didnโt seize the moment, youโd never say it at all.
What you hadnโt expected was for him to turn you down. To tell youโcalmly, almost dismissivelyโthat you should marry Finn.
Your mother was waiting for your response. You knew she expected good news, a letter confirming that you and James were finally together. Instead, you sat at your desk, penning words that left a bitter taste in your mouth.
Dear Mother,
I did what you told me to do, but I fear I shouldnโt have. We were talking just fine, and then I told him everything. I told him how I felt. And he told me to marry Finn.
Finn is lovely, yesโbut heโs not James. I asked James if there was any chance for us, and he said no. At least now I have clarity on where I stand with him. And I know it sounds awful to compare Finn to James, but... maybe knowing what I know now, I can learn to be happy with Finn. Father and Finnโs family are all thrilled, after all. I donโt even want to think about what I wouldโve done if James had said he felt the same.
You sighed, folding the parchment carefully and sealing it in an envelope. The weight of your words sat heavily on your chest, but you couldnโt dwell on them any longer. You needed to send this letter immediately.
Pulling on your cloak, you found yourself heading for one of the secret passages to Hogsmeadeโthe ones you and James had used so often. The memories stung, but you pushed them aside. This time, youโd be using the passage alone.
The quickest way to deliver your letter was through the owlery. You knew exactly which owl was the fastest.
As you walked, you let your mind wander to James one last time, allowing yourself the quiet ache of what couldโve been. You would never speak to him again, not like before. That part of your life was over.
Finn was your future now. And while it hurt to admit, deep down, you knew it was for the best.

Summary: In which Poe Dameron is freaking out because he's going on his first date.
Pairing: Poe Dameron x f!reader
Warnings: Fluff, panicky!Poe, brief ReyFinnPoe shenanigans, sprinkle some angst (if you squint), reader being sassy, Poe being cute.
A/N: Co-written with @sofasoap because a lot happens in our DMs and I feel like some of our insanity needs to be evaluated by a professional๐ Thank you so much for the supportโค๏ธ I really appreciate it๐๐๐
[Part 1]
Poe doesnโt realize that heโs been rambling for the past five minutes now. He feels sweat on his palms, his heart beats a thousand parsecs a second.
โTatooine was an absolute nightmare because not only did the mission go south, we had to spend an entire week getting roasted in the Maker-Forsaken heatโโ
He doesnโt think heโs said this many words in an entire day.ย
Heโs nervous. Almost fearful that this date wonโt go as planned. That you might hate him and never want anything to do with him.
That wasnโt an option. He couldnโt bear it if you decided you never wanted to see him again.
The soft light of the moon and the stars above illuminate from above, but he lit a few candles just in case. Which worked fine for the aesthetic of a midnight picnic on the cool grass fields far away from the base.ย
Finn and Rey were a big help in this entire thing. In fact, they were brutal when it came to shutting down his โnow that he thinks about itโ ridiculously dumb ideas for a date. There was a lot of bickering involved, but thatโs a story for another day.
Finn helped him pick out the food, but Poe was very particular on that topic because he knew some of the things you liked. Sweet wine, fruits, sandwiches, and pastries. Certain flavours youโve mentioned in past conversations came to him in flashes made him realize just how much heโs been holding onto them. Actually, Poe hangs on to every word you say.
How could he not? He wants to know everything there is about you. He may or may not be a little bit obsessed with you and heโs not very good at hiding it.
But who could blame him? With your stunning beauty and sharp tongue, who, in the entire galaxy, could blame him for being absolutely enamoured by you? Not just that, underneath your deadpan disposition and casual aggression, you have a kindness that most people tend to overlook.
Even though you give him shit for wrecking his ship, you go out of your way to help him fix it. You bring him a cup of caf when he needs it the most. You give him some words of encouragementโ very few words, because you know, so he doesnโt think you like him like everyone else does.
You donโt treat him like heโs a god like everyone else does. Like heโs made of pure gold. Like he could do no wrong. You treat him like a soldier. To you, heโs that annoying friend you canโt get rid of but have grown accustomed to having around.
He doesnโt mind it. Your presence takes a lot of pressure off his shoulders. He doesnโt have to be the face of the Resistance. Heโs not constantly trying to keep everything afloat. He doesnโt have to worry about what heโs doing wrong and that his actions might cost the lives of many.
Heโs just another guy to you. Heโs just Poe.
โAnd then what happened?โ you ask before taking a bite out of your sandwich. โWhile you were spending the week getting roasted by the stifling heat, I mean.โ
Poe has to take a moment to breathe because he realizes that he stopped talking. He was staring at you. He hadnโt realize that you were actually paying attention to his ramblings.
โUhโโ he stammered, blushing profusely as he tried to laugh it off with a nervous chuckle. โWโwe almost died of thirst if Pava hadnโt found us.โ
โHmmโฆโ you hummed thoughtfully. โShe did mention having to bring water for three banthas. Iโm assuming you were one of them.โ
He burst into laughter which made him fall on his back from his seated position on the dark blue blanket. When he catches the quirk of your lip, he feels a bit of relief that you havenโt chosen to walk out after so much time has passed into the night.
But when he glances behind you, far behind you, and sees the two figures hiding in the bushes, he nearly panics. Itโs Rey and Finn, both giving him thumbs up. He wants to believe that he hasnโt fucked up just yet.
He looked up at the sky, leaning on his hands. Their light illuminates the night sky and everything under it. He knows itโs probably past midnight and you both have to be up early.
โItโs getting late.โ he muses sadly, still admiring the stars.
โIt isโฆโ you reply.ย
He doesnโt want this to end just yet. He wants to cling to you a little longer.
Poe glances at you and finds you laying down with your hands clasped right under your chest. He moves closer and lies next to you in the same position. This feltโฆ nice. Peaceful. Itโs almost hard to believe that heโs been begging for this chance for so long, he thinks that this might be a dream.
โSoโฆโ he sighs, looking at you with a nervous smile. โYou donโt hate me, right?โ
You are silent for a moment. The deal was that if you donโt hate him by the end of this date, then thereโs still a chance for him. A chance for a second date. For more.
Maker, he wants more. If he were given the chance to kiss you right now, he would take it. No hesitation whatsoever. He wants more time. To see you, hear your voice, hear you laugh. Maybe even touch you.
This war has taken so much from him. If you could grant him this one wish, this one chance, then losing might not hurt as much.
โI donโt hate you, Poe.โ you say, and your eyes meet his. โTruthfully, I donโt think I could ever hate you.โ
Your confession strikes a chord in him. An echo in the back of his mind ringing the truth and nothing but the truth. As he looks at you now, he knowsโ
I love you.
It takes everything in him not to say it out loud. Poe realizes that heโs known for a while now. Possibly since he stopped fooling around with other people. Hell, possibly since he met you.
โGood to know.โ he nods, clearing his throat. โSo dโdoes that meanโโ
โYes, Poe.โ He canโt breathe when you move a little closer until your forehead touches his shoulder for a second. You look into his eyes and smile. โYouโre getting a second date.โ
He cannot, for the life of him, find it in himself to look away from you when you smile at him like that. There is a warmth in his chest that unfurls when heโs around you and heโs so addicted to it. Heโs addicted to you.
โCan I kiss you?โ
โDonโt push it.โ You giggle, shoving his shoulder as you sit back up.
He follows, chuckling sheepishly. โRight. Sorry.โ
But youโre still smiling and you kiss his cheek anyway. You donโt seem to mind how eager he is to be around you, to want more, even as you bar his advances. Thatโs okay. Heโs on a date with you and you donโt hate him. Thatโs all that matters.
โOh, so I canโt kiss you, but you can kiss me?โ he jibes, feigning a glare at you.
โFuck off, Dameron.โ you laugh brightly, playfully shoving him, the sound fluttering butterflies in his stomach. He shakes his head as he watches you.ย
Heโs going to see you in his dreams again.
Part 3 will come out soon ;)

"Hurry up, boys." You called up the stairs. "Or your father and I will leave with ought you."
A series of thuds and crashes met your words. But you just fondly rolled your eyes as you got back to packing your bag, ready to go.
"First." A voice shouted before you felt a hand land on your shoulder.
"Oh, come on!" Another voice shouted. "That's not fair."
"You snooze, you lose." The voice closest to you called out.
"Hello, my dear." You laughed. Pressing a kiss to the top of Harry's head.
Then, only a moment later, you heard the sound of thundering feet as your other son, Teddy came charging down the stairs. Hurtling towards you.
Crashing into you, Teddy wrapped his arms around you.
"Hello, my love." you greeted. Pressing a kiss to his forehead, too.
"Are you two muppets ready to leave now?" You questioned them as you picked up your bag.
"Yeah." Harry grinned. Tugging at your arm as, he pulled you into the living room where Remus was waiting.ย
Sat in his favourite armchair with a newspaper open on his lap.
When he heard the three of you enter the room, he folded the newspaper. Standing up, he deposited it back on his seat as he walked towards you and the boys.
"Shall we, my lady." Remus teased. Bowing to you in an overexaggerated way.
Laughing, you swatted at his arm as you led your boys out of the house. Make sure to lock the door behind you.
When you got out into the garden you grabbed a hold of Teddy as Remus took Harry.
"Everyone ready?" You called out.
When all your boys replied with sounds of agreement, you and Remus both disappeared with a pop.
Reappearing in a narrow alleyway just down from Grimuld place.ย
Momenterly fussing over your boys, you made sure that no one had been spliced before you all walked out of the alleyway.
Harry and Teddy leapt ahead, teasing each other as they ran ahead. Rasing up to number 12. With his longer legs,ย Teddy ended up making it first. His hand reached for the knocker as he stuck his tongue out at Harry.
The door flew open not even a moment later as Sirues towering frame took over the doorway.
"Well, if it isn't the lupins," Sirius beamed as he took in the sight of your little family. "Come in, come in." He waved as she stepped to the side, allowing you all to come.
The moment the door was safely shut behind the five of you, and you were out of the foyer, Harry and Teddy threw themselves at Sirus.
Who only laughed. Wrapping them up in a great big hug.
"How are my favourite troublemakers?" Sirues questioned them.
Causing them to chatter on to him about there exploits as he momentarily comes over to you and Remus.
"And how are the pair of you?" Sirues questions quickly as he pulls you into a hug. Pressing a kiss to both your cheeks.
"We are good." Remus assured him. As he got pulled into his own hug byย Sirues.
"How are you?" You askedย Sirues softly.
"Oh I'm good."ย Sirues waved off your concern. "Same old, same old."
You only fondly smiled at him as Harry and Teddy came up toย Sirues. Each grabbing him by an arm as together they pulled him off so they could carry on chatting his ear off about something.
You couldn't quite make out what they were saying, and quite frankly, you weren't sure if you wanted to.
Also, watching the scene from behind you, Remus snorted.
"if we left now, how long do you think it would take for them to notice?" He asked you teasingly.
"Don't say that." You laughed. Gently hitting him in the chest.
Laughing, Remus grabbed the offending hand and brought it to his lips. Dropping a delicate kiss to your knuckles you and Remus finally followed after the chaos that was your children and a certainย Sirues black.
You followed the three of them into the living room, where Sirues was sitting in the middle of the sofa. One of your boys on either side as Harry, seemed to be narrating an exciting tale. His hands waving as Teddy and Sires just watched on. Occasionly nodding.
Smiling at the scene, you and Remus sat in the nearby Love seat. Your bodies pressed together as you fondly watched the scene in front of you.
You didn't know what you would do with ought your boys. They really were your whole world.
