to the people who struggle with hygiene, kinda smell bad, have rooms filled to the brim with trash and dirty clothes, or can’t properly take care of themselves for whatever reason i love you a lot and i care about you a lot. able bodied and mentally well/stable people have no right to be commenting on our lives, they know nothing. go at your own pace, no matter how slow that pace may be.

I really hate how the perception of tone indicators have gotten so negative in recent months. People either see them as stupid, as demeaning, or as “cringe”. And a lot of the who don’t think those things still had them ruined by dishonest allistics using them wrongly to purposefully mislead them (usually /nm or /lh).

Allistics started to make fun of tone indicators and use them for jokes a long while ago. Then autistic people who don’t need them started loudly saying they think they’re stupid and infantilize autistic people anyway, so they could be “in” with the allistics. Now, autistic people who do need them are too ashamed to use them.

Mean-spirited allistics and the “not like other autists” autistics have ruined yet another communication device for autistic people by making it the “cringe” butt of jokes. Add that one to the growing pile.

The “phone bad” mindset really annoys me because access to accepting internet communities, earbuds so I can drown out overstimulation, the ability to communicate over text and email and the wealth of information easy to reach from google has been so important in accommodating me.

Bro should I distract them?????

For the autistics who are always accused of being angry or moody when all they’re doing is sitting there.

For the autistics who take everything literally and respond sincerely.

For the autistics who come across as “blunt” or “rude” for being honest.

For the autistics who are called “control freaks” for needing a sense of order and routine.

For the autistics who get told to shut up for infodumping about uncomfortable topics.

For the autistics who find it too exhausting to mask and pretend to be sunny and friendly.
