Stipple brushes for Procreate, Krita, and Clip Studio Paint

This suite of brushes are designed to create gritty, crunchy, bold illustrations by utilizing toothy liners, stipplers, grimy texture stamps, and jittery coloring brushes, with a bonus texture overlay thrown in to bring it all together.

Brushes are inspired by various tattoo needle configurations, inking pens, and spray paints. The goal is to give your digital artwork a tangible quality to them.

Idk when I was younger, you could just go and go and find exciting new websites full of whatever cool things you wanted to explore. An overabundance of ways to occupy your time online.

Now, it's just... Social media. That's it. Social media and news sites. And I'm tired of social media and I'm tired of the news.

Am I just like completely inept at finding new things or has the internet just fallen apart that much with the problems of SEO and web 3.0 turning everything into a same-site prison?

i love that every pokémon is someone’s favourite pokémon. it doesn’t matter how much you dislike a pokémon or how forgettable you you think a design is, out there is someone who thinks it’s their baby. my coworker who only discovered pokémon through pokémon go absolutely loves tangela and has a small army of fully powered up ones. at an expo once i saw a woman at a booth desperately trying to find an onix plushie because it was her daughter’s absolute favourite. i talked with someone recently who announced sudowoodo as their tippy top favourite. every single one is loved by someone and idk, i think that’s gotdang heartwarming

I see a lot of positivity posts about 12-year-olds just learning to draw.  Posts cautioning us to be mindful of 11-year-olds with no grasp of anatomy and 13-year-olds whose characters are all the same person with different hair and clothes, and I love those posts.  Those are great posts.  Keep those posts coming, tumblr.

But can I ask, what about the 25-year-old who just bought their first ever sketchbook?  What about the 32-year-old who’s been drawing for a month and has just about got the hang of a human-looking face?  What about the 67-year-old who finally has time to sit down and learn how to paint like they’ve always wanted?

Not everyone starts drawing as a child.  Not everyone learned as a preteen.  Some people start in college.  Some people start when their career is going well and they feel like it’s time for a new hobby.  Some people start after they’ve retired.

Not all beginner artists are kids, and I just think the adults ones deserve some encouragement, too.

Hi! I just wanted to say I love your art and your characters so much their like some of my favorite ocs I've ever interacted with. But I was wondering if you don't mind answering what do you do when it comes to drawing different body types, I struggle a lot with that in my own art

For drawing different body types, I studied lots and LOTS of anatomy for a long time. It can be daunting, but it takes a lot of dedication, study, and practice. Here's some stuff that I hope helps!

If you'd prefer to do a more stylized look, then focusing on shapes is really helpful! I find it's easiest to study other artists and surround yourself with diverse art. Here are some examples!

Here’s a thing I see a ton of people mess up, even Studio Ghibli. Hopefully this is an easy graphic you can pull up to help out.

One of the common mistakes I see for people relying on "AI" (LLMs and image generators) is that they think the AI they're interacting with is capable of thought and reason. It's not. This is why using AI to write essays or answer questions is a really bad idea because it's not doing so in any meaningful or thoughtful way. All it's doing is producing the statistically most likely expected output to the input.

This is why you can ask ChatGPT "is mayonnaise a palindrome?" and it will respond "No it's not." but then you ask "Are you sure? I think it is" and it will respond "Actually it is! Mayonnaise is spelled the same backward as it is forward"

All it's doing is trying to sound like it's providing a correct answer. It doesn't actually know what a palindrome is even if it has a function capable of checking for palindromes (it doesn't). It's not "Artificial Intelligence" by any meaning of the term, it's just called AI because that's a discipline of programming. It doesn't inherently mean it has intelligence.

So if you use an AI and expect it to make something that's been made with careful thought or consideration, you're gonna get fucked over. It's not even a quality issue. It just can't consistently produce things of value because there's no understanding there. It doesn't "know" because it can't "know".
