Skye didn’t bother knocking, she just pushed open the kitchen door, said hello to Matt’s parents and headed for the stairs.

She’d known the family for most of her life. Their house was an extension of hers and Matt was the closest friend she had, pretty much like an older brother - but one she completely trusted. Siblings without rivalry.

Matt’s room was at the top of the stairs but his door was closed. Skye couldn’t ever remember it being closed.

It made her pause and raise her knuckles to knock.

Hallowe’en Helper

“Let’s make a playlist! That will help you get in the mood for Hallowe’en.”

Lisa climbed on her brother’s bed and laid out her long slender frame. She hated it when he had to work weekends at the zoo, especially when the weekend clashed with her favourite excuse to dress up and party.

Stu carried on packing his bag ready for the drive to the state of the art zoo that had opened a year ago between their Australian home town and Melbourne.

“Sorry Lisa, I’m just not feeling it. I love this job but being the youngest with no kids means that Dianna thinks it’s fair to give me every fucking evening weekend shift between now and the New Year.”

He saw his younger sister pout on his behalf, kicking her heels up to touch her ass. She was wearing gym shorts and a cropped tee. October is pretty warm in much of the southern hemisphere.
