If Cartman’s behavior isn’t really Cartman’s fault because of the way he was raised, then Liane’s poor parenting also isn’t her fault. She’s a woman who lets men use her for money and desperately projected romantic interest on a dog trainer just because he made prolonged eye contact with her; she’s clearly very deeply insecure and needs validation from others. The only person in her life who loves her is Eric and so she needs him to fulfill all her emotional needs… something children weren’t meant to do. And so they’re both stuck alone, unable to give the other what they need because they have no one to rely on. And as easy as it is to blame everyone in South Park for being scumbags I can’t. I don’t talk to my neighbors; I don’t even know any of their names. I’d be no more help to Liane than Sharon or Sheila is. Cartman’s behavior isn’t his fault or Liane’s fault or society’s fault, it’s my fault. Our fault. And so he has to suffer because of us.

Ironically, caring deeply about Cartman and following that train of logic has brought me the closest I’ve ever gotten to empathizing with Kyle. I can’t look at any pictures from Tsst right now so could you please pick an image of Kyle being existential instead?

Look what I found...

I was shopping at FYE, and then I saw Scott beside Liane Cartman where is supposed to be Eric’s family, and then I remembered he’s actually Eric’s half-brother

It’s been almost 7 years since they revealed that.
