Here’s to the lesbians that knew they were lesbians since they were kids.
Here’s to the lesbians who just realized yesterday, this morning, an hour ago.
Here’s to the lesbians who know, firmly and irrevocably, that they’re a lesbian.
Here’s to the lesbians who wonder five times a day.
Here’s to the lesbians that tick all of the boxes on what society thinks a lesbian “should” be.
Here’s to the lesbians who get incredulous responses and disbelief when they come out.
Here’s to the lesbians of colour, trans/nonbinary lesbians, fat lesbians, disabled/autistic lesbians, mentally ill lesbians, gnc lesbians, ace lesbians, aro lesbians, aroace lesbians, bi lesbians, pan lesbians, they/them lesbians, he/him lesbians, and so many more.
Here’s to the shy, quiet butch lesbians and the outspoken, outgoing femmes.
Here’s to the lesbians that don’t feel they fit in either one.
There is no “correct” age to find out you’re a lesbian.
You can know you’re a lesbian from birth.
You can discover you’re a lesbian in elementary school.
You can discover you’re a lesbian in middle school.
You can discover you’re a lesbian in high school.
You can discover you’re a lesbian in university and college.
You can discover you’re a lesbian when you already have an established career.
You can discover you’re a lesbian if you’ve married a man and had kids.
You can discover you’re a lesbian as a senior citizen.
No matter when you found out that your love was for women and only women, your attraction to women is just as real and just as genuine as every other lesbian’s.
Can you please elaborate on the Stephen Colbert RPF thing. This is a judgment free zone I’m just deathly curious
Ah yes well you see Stephen Colbert used to play a parody of a Fox News pundit on a show called The Colbert Report (American news satire program popular in the late 00s/early 10s). The character was explicitly a closeted gay man who was driven to conservatism due to his own insecurity/internalized homophobia. He had a homoerotic relationship with Jon Stewart whom he pretended to hate but had several romantic moments with.
When their shows ended they wrote a soft epilogue for their fictionalized selves where they retire to a cabin in the woods together and it’s implied they’re married now. The most beautiful self-written rpf of all time.
It was a beautiful slow burn self-written rpf that unfolded over, like, 10 years they worked together? It started as a joke but ended up being a genuine canon part of the fictionalized Stephen Colbert? I’m not joking.
I lose followers every time I say “trans women are women”
so I’m gonna keep saying it until I weed out all ya
anyway i love girls 💋
As a feminist, I know that female characters who wear leather and kick ass are generally just lazy ways for filmmakers to claim they have portrayed a strong female character, rather than actually bothering with creating meaningful and complex characterisation.
As a WLW, I- hnnnngggh strong lady...
me: hello can you please tag [insert ‘obscure’ trigger] it causes me to have flashbacks
gross person: actually no. its not listed under the Official Neurotypical Approved List Of Triggers™. please try going outside !!
No matter what a post on tumblr tries to tell you, your moral and ethical stances will never be determined by what you reblog and what you scroll past. Don’t let manipulation tactics force you into doing anything you don’t want to do.
