Peter and the band were always saying, ‘Where the fuck is he?’ It upset them that he couldn’t manipulate him. He didn’t give a damn. He was the kind of person that enjoyed mind games. He might say, ‘Hmmm, Jimmy seems tense, wouldn’t it be funny if someone threw a firecracker at him.’ And of course, John Bonham would then throw the firecrackers at Jimmy. I thought he was brilliant. He could do any other job and had a great sense of practical joke.”
