Sometimes when I don’t feel up to drawing, I’ll pull out one of my coloring books. My sister was a good art companion today.
My insomnia is keeping me up late, so why not think about the peafowl that has been wandering my neighborhood lately. I first spotted it a week ago, and yesterday my brother and I followed it for 10 minutes or so. Some people keep peafowls in this area, but they are definitely not native or likely to survive for long outside of captivity or enclosures.
Only question is, has it been out for over a week and some how managed to stay away from the cats, dogs, and coyotes in the area? Or has it simply escaped from it's enclosure multiple times lately?
I do adore those clouds though. And for mountains, those are fairly good for me.
I understand why people dislike leather and animal products. But leather is such a good resource? Like… My mom bought a sturdy leather coat in 1989. I’m in my 20’s and I now wear that coat. That’s a 30 year old coat? 30 years, two generations, one coat. Versus, like… A plastic one, that rips and gets thrown out, or releases bits into the ecosystem every time it’s washed, takes a billion years to decompose, lasts maybe a decade if you’re super duper careful, and uses oil products in it’s construction. Like, yeah leather is expensive and comes from a living animal, and I’m not saying that you should go out and buy fifty fur and leather products for the he’ll of it, but like… Maybe the compromise is worth it? One animal product, valued and respected and worn down for generations, versus like… Six plastic products that will never ever go away?
idk, I could be wrong.
The finished product. I think just over an hour of work total
Queso and Mango have very different opinions on pumpkin insides, as you can see.
Helloooo! Thanks so much for the follow! Always nice to find another aspiring artist. :) Your style is really imaginative and inventive - looking forward to seeing more, keep up the good work!
Thank you!! This made me smile as I woke up having a really, really bad day. But this really made me smile. Maybe I’ll do some art later today, I haven’t in a while.
hey writeblr’s! what chronic illnesses do you wish were represented in fiction more often? i know that as someone with a whole load of chronic illnesses, there are a few i try to actively put in so…what do you wish was seen more often?
for me, it’s
*vision issues in young people
*fibromyalgia or any kind of chronic pain
*dyslexia (i don’t have it, but i think it really needs to be shown in characters more often)
*memory issues caused by an illness
*any kind of neurological disorder
add to the list, let’s get more things in fiction!
My boyfriend convinced me to start sharing my art, so here it is! I’m a neurodivergent artist and writer who goes by either Ray or Drachen | 22 | self taught |
