Venti looked up to see Aether had his eyes closed, face turned up towards the sky, his mouth curved into a soft smile as he spoke.

The rain gently dripped from his hair onto his skin, leaving trails down his chin that the archon longed to trace with his fingers instead.

The serenity of his features made Venti's heart jump into his throat.

"Whenever I struggle, you make me feel like I belong. Like home."

Aether opened his eyes, affection and amusement crinkling the corners.

Venti felt his cheeks burn hot under the travelers gaze as a sudden burst of wind tousled both their hair, speechless for once as he felt himself choke up at the meaning behind his words.

"I don't tell you nearly enough."

hi I’ve been trying some new things. Tried to develop an easier and more comfortable art style just for fanarts and stuffs like that. Because my usual style is a little bit more complicated and it seems just not fit into most of the fanarts I’ve done so far. And most importantly I found it very exhausting to do any comics in that style lol. So probably I’d just save that for my original arts only.

So...let’s get to the point. im shipping real hard for Aether and Venti O.o I am pretty new to the genshin fandom...but are they a rare ship actually? I’ve seen a lot of other ships going on, but there are not too much Aether and Venti materials out there. I don’t know if they have a ship name or not :\ Please anyone let me know if you like this ship too.

Here’s a short clip that made no sense. It’s more like an experimental practice I think. Just testing out the art style and colors. I am no expert in any sort of comics drawing and my anatomy knowledge really sucks:’) But here I am, pushing myself to practice more and try more new things, so I can do better in the future. (btw English is not my native language, so if you think the lines/conversations in the comics are a bit “stiff”, then you know why:’))

Aether: Venti and I don’t use pet names.

Paimon: I see. Hey, what do bees make?

Aether: Honey?

Venti: Yes, dear?

Aether:

Paimon: Don't ever lie to my face again.

Venti: An evening breeze really sets the mood for becoming my disciple, don't you think? We could do it right now. You'd just need to make me a small offering.

Aether, handing him a random nearby object: I pledge my faith to Lord Barbatos, god of the wind, freedom, and attention whores.

Venti, through laughter: Hey! That's blasphemy! You should be more careful, or I might just have to rain divine punishment upon you. (Empty threat)

For now may I please requests Aether being comforted by Venti?

Specifically, if you are ok with extra prompting, Aether comes home crying because the world is too stressful: he feels betrayed by Zhongli(because gnosis deal), he technically still lost to the fatui despite going through so much, and various other problems like how everything seems to want him dead.

Aether goes through so much I want him to be comforted T_T

Well... We didn't get much new information on Scara, so it won't majorly change how I write him for now.

Btw, I prefer more, so the 'extra prompting' is a perfect request! Here you go.

[[ Summary: Overwhelmed by the world, Aether comes back to the first nation that had welcomed him, and the one he found himself returning to time and time again, and its Archon.

Aether was shaken when he had first defeated the poor dragon, Stormterror, and had nearly fallen to the ground, saved just barely... He was torn up when he had seen an entire nation be nearly consumed by the ocean and the beasts deep within, only surviving by those who have yet to abandon again. And once again, he was rattled when his own life was taken, and he had been forced within the mind- the heart- of the Electro Archon herself.

And all of that, all of that, the Fatui had still gotten the third Gnosis-- Perhaps fourth, if you count the Tsaritsa's... but he just didn't understand anymore. More and more, he felt that he was little more than a pawn in the massive game of chess that the Fatui had forced him through.

"Aether?" Paimon asked, fluttering beside, "So... We can't do much right now. The Chasm's locking us off from, uhm, Sumeru... what should we do now?"

Aether looked down at the Serenitea Pot in hand.

"Home." He said, softly. Paimon looked at the Teapot, then back up at him,

"Home?"

He turned his gaze to the north.

"Home."

And, as always, she knew what he meant.

Home was not a place, but a person. And while his sister would always be his first home, his family, he found a home away from home.

Him.

How mushy- Lumine would tease him over it, but right now, his heart ached and there were tears in his eyes. Maybe he had a right to be a little mushy.

But it was time to go home.

To Mondstadt.

Common as it were, Venti had not been in the Angel's Share as of yet, nor was he singing before his statue, in the Cathedral, in the palms of the statue...

And Aether even tried to check the Cat's Tail, but both Diona and Margaret attested to not knowing where Venti was.

"Aether?" Paimon asked, softly, "It's okay... Maybe we should go check Windrise again, that silly bard it-"

She was cut off by the choked up sob, Aether rushing behind the nearest building, and sitting down, his head on his knees, hugging his legs to his chest, and he sobbed.

Could nothing go right? Could nothing be okay?! Was he just meant to wander endlessly, and to lose all he loves save for the one he has to take care of? Was-

The tickling breeze, and Aether gasped, suddenly his sobs were gone, only dramatic breathing, and with a light touch atop his head, he saw Venti floating down from above, landing gracefully, and shifting to stand on one knee, "Hey, sorry, Dvalin wanted to talk... But I'm okay."

The words Aether didn't know he needed.

He leapt at Venti, wrapping him in a tight hug, knocking him back onto his ass, barely keeping himself from falling back further and hitting his head on the hard, stony ground, Aether hiding his face in the crook of his neck...

"Hey, it's alright, it's alright... I'd say 'I missed you too', but I have a feeling this is about more than missing me."

Aether nodded against him, and just hugged him tighter, prompting a soft squeak from Venti.

"Don't-Don't crush me, I'll turn back into a spirit... It's okay, I'm not going anywhere." He reassured, tilting his head to the side slightly, "Talk to me, my little warrior, what's wrong?"

"Hurt," Aether said, between his pathetic little whimpers, "Hurt..."

"You're hurt?" Venti asked, "Inside or outside?"

"Inside."

Venti's hand was able to worm between their bodies, resting on his stomach, resulting in it tensing from old wounds that still had yet to fully heal, "Outside..."

"Aether..." Venti sighed, smiling... and... he laughed. "You're ridiculous, you're hurt and beat up and you go all the way from Inazuma just to get back here..." He pressed a kiss to Aether's forehead, "Why? Did you really miss me that much?"

"You," Aether sat up, "You," he braced his hands on Venti's chest, "You", he pushed him to the ground, "You," he was already lying on him, "Home."

Home.

This was his home. The only home not so quickly to be taken from him.

Venti, once again, laughed, a melodic sound that echoed through the alley, "Look... I love you too, but maybe we should get into the Teapot before some guards yell at us."

Aether froze, and still straddling Venti's waist, sat up, a light flush over his features... Embarrassment.

"And then I'll stay next to you aaaall night long, okay?"

"... okay."

head empty only venti knows jackshit about braiding, he just spawned in like that and uses magic to upkeep them. When he loses his gnosis he has to use his power sparingly, which means no more wasting magic on the braids. He's got to do them manually now. As stated before he has no idea how to fucking do this, so he asks the person he thinks knows braiding best to help him. Who is that person? Aether.

Two ways to go from here:

1. Soft aeventi where Aether teaches Venti how to braid his hair. Venti is clumsy at first so Aether braids his hair for him.

(Optional part 2- He ends up enjoying this so even after he learns how to braid his hair he comes back to Aether to do it each time)

2. Aether also knows jack shit about braiding hair. His hair is magically kept it place. He tried unbraiding it once but it just didnt???? Like it would not unbraid??? help

(Optional part 2- Venti is sad because he feels like a piece of his friend is gone now)

(Optional part 3- Aether comforts Venti about it, and eventually Venti gets used to having his hair down, and starts feeling more like his own person than an imposter)
