Yeah, it happens... They are pages in the story of each of our lives.
Reblog if you do too. Just to prove that it is more normal than what people actually think.
They had something to eat. They had a drink. They were at the inn...had a room for the night. They argued about philosophy...he was right. She hated that he was right, but he was. It was as if he'd seen all the details of her life and read all the lessons she'd learned through her 30-some years: no one ever stayed for long. They did what was socially expected; not what they really wanted... or needed.
They had another drink... something called "to-kill-ya" or something like that. It was sweet...like his smile. It was tart, like his sense of humour.
No one ever stayed. She knew it, but did it matter? One sweet night is all she wanted, then whatever the next day brought, it brought...no obligations, no regrets. She laughed a lot. How long had it been since she laughed? Really laughed? She laughed so hard that she couldn't breathe.
When they finally staggered up to their room...why had they only gotten one room anyway...she wished she hadn't drunk so much; she'd be asleep in minutes and awake in just a couple hours.... regretting.... wondering what it was like to have a normal life, whatever that meant, and then moving on. Maybe he'd move on with her. She'd like that. Maybe she'd never see him again and he'd be stacked among the possibilities she never tried hard enough to explore. Possibilities... eventualities... who could say? But she did laugh.
The myth that panic, looting, and antisocial behavior increases during the apocalypse (or apocalyptic-like scenarios) is in fact a myth—and has been solidly disproved by multiple scientific studies. The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program, a research group within the United States Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), has produced research that shows over and over again that “disaster victims are assisted first by others in the immediate vicinity and surrounding area and only later by official public safety personnel […] The spontaneous provision of assistance is facilitated by the fact that when crises occur, they take place in the context of ongoing community life and daily routines—that is, they affect not isolated individuals but rather people who are embedded in networks of social relationships.” (Facing Hazards and Disasters: Understanding Human Dimensions, National Academy of Sciences, 2006). Humans do not, under the pressure of an emergency, socially collapse. Rather, they seem to display higher levels of social cohesion, despite what media or government agents might expect…or portray on TV. Humans, after the apocalypse, band together in collectives to help one another—and they do this spontaneously. Disaster response workers call it ‘spontaneous prosocial helping behavior’, and it saves lives.
Love big Burms... they're the Yellow Labs of snakes... big, dopey, docile, snuggle-bunnies. Retics... they are the wolves... always thinking, testing, checking out every opportunity (and I love them, too).
people who are afraid of snakes are fuckin’ WILD, like dude, just carefully step over these fat babies’ sausage bodies and gently move the burmese python chillin’ against the door, then you become unfathomably rich. i would do this for $10. i would do this for FREE.

VOTE!
If you don't vote, you forfeit your right to bitch and whine...and this is Tumblr, so...?
Get registered. Verify that you are registered to vote. Double check your voter registration status.
After Alabama, it looks like 2018 is already trying to tell us something: ”Close Elections” is gonna be the theme for the next two years.
2018 is coming. Voter turnout wins elections. Every vote counts.
And yet the voter turnout for women, minorities, and millennials of all genders/races is expected to be DOWN by 20-40% for the 2018 elections. Our apathy, as a nation, is our demise. Sure, it's hard to figure out/comply with the voting rules, especially for those who don't drive or move frequently...guess why that is? I guarantee it's not to ensure our democratic republic! Our only hope for this nation is of EVERYONE stands up and says ENOUGH!
Yes! Thank you for this great vid. Please pay attention people!!!
Sometimes I just want
To be broken and rest there
I'm so friggin' tired
This caption will be long but important.
First of all, to remind (or tell) you who I am and where I’m from.
I am Ukrainian, and I lived in Ukraine, Odessa my whole life. Until early March or 2022 when I had to flee my home because of war.
Since then my life has been a whirlwind. To sum it all up briefly – me, my mother, my grandma who is 82, and our dog fled to Romania, moved multiple times traveling through the country with the help of the kindest locals, and after another month and making good good friends on the way who helped us on the level I'm still struggling to comprehend I was finally sure the situation for my family is stable.
The hospitality of Romanian people is also the reason for this post to have exactly this one art piece.
And because Romania is beautiful too.
Should I tell you I dreamt about seeing mountains? It came to life. But I hate the circumstances of this dream coming true. I can only wish to come back to Romanian Carpathians while not running from war.
Why “to come back” would you ask? Because after that month I moved further, but on my own. To France.
Yet worry not, I’m not alone here! (Though I’d still appreciate help from locals in terms of information and such. Please feel free to message me if you can spare a minute or two to talk about daily life 🙏)
What am I up to now? Looking for an on-site job in Paris as a game artist. Taking in freelance offers in the meantime (giving preference to commercial). If by chance you can help with my job search – you know what to do 🙌🏻 my DMs are open.
If you want to support me – my pa🌳on and other ways to help/donate are linked in bio. I have to warn I can’t promise any constant updates of my content though.
I of course want to thank the people who helped me through all the way♥️ Both with advice and donations they (you all, when you read this!) supported me immensely, literally keeping me going. You are the most amazing human beings, I’m grateful to you eternally, and I’m still astonished by how many you are.
I could have said much more, but for now it is what it is. Thank you for sparing a minute to read.
Small addition – I now have a life profile with pictures on Instagram – @joycetakespics. If you want, you can stop by and look at my yet-to-be magnificent collection of flower pics.
Another important part.
You might think I’ve come through a lot, but I'm in fact incredibly lucky compared to way too many other people in Ukraine.
⁉️What you can do to help not only me, but my people⁉️
First of all: Spread the information you see about war. Keep talking about it.
Both luckily and unfortunately we live at the times when awareness in social media is the greatest weapon, and the lack of it – even more so. It’s the part where you choose sides.
Secondly, donate.
There are hundreds of ways, destinations and options. Don’t ignore it if you have a coin to spare. There are reasons people ask for help, there always are.
If you won’t mind a hand at figuring out where to donate, I’ll try to share smaller Odessa volunteer accounts on insta stories (or twitter) when I can.
This is hilarious!
I’ll never not be amused by the fact that I can drop the words “crucifix nail nipples” into a conversation and some of you who have been with me since the livejournal days will join me in the flashbacks, screaming and crying all the way.
As a country, the U.S is a reality tv show for the rest of the world now.
