The movie happened in a few months after the Shredder attack and I think this is interesting to see, how everyone deal with the loss of their home and Gram-Gram. Didn't think about it before, but movie gives some insight!
Raph is paranoid/tries to overprepare.
It's all about training-training-training because he can't let anything bad happen again and he NEEDS his brothers to be as prepared as possible to be able to defend themselves!
When the mysterios attack happened, Leo, Donnie and Mikey just stood their confused while Raph panickly jumped in front of the closest ones to try and shield them from whatever it is. When Splinter got hurt, he demanded everyone to retreat.(he was partly right but also partly wrong, it was a bad situation no matter what you choose)
(And Raph faced it by basically being the one who needs to be saved despite his trainings and how he most likely put himself as the responsible one for safety of their family)
Leo is in denial.
He refuses to acknowledge anything bad happening, or it happened but they were totally awesome with nothing negative happening as a result either way. But the only way to properly ignore it is to go out to have fun and eat pizza, their old routine.
When Raph was taken he refused to acknowledge the severity of the situation and rushed back. When they were surrounded by krang monsters, he once again refused to acknowledge how bad things are and was blindly pushing forward.
(And Leo faced it by being forced into situation where he can no longer pretend he Got this. He has to go in fight with fully understanding what this means for him and his family)
Donnie is avoidant.
I am pretty sure relocating into new lair and making it livable fell solely on Donnie's shoulders. And I am sure he gladly jumped into work to be useful to the family(even though it chipped away his time for his own needs like repairing Shelldon, whose head is just laying around on the floor).
His avoidance was mostly shown in him becoming more touch-aversed. In the show he was 90% of the time up for a hug and touch. In the movie he more often showed discomfort, the hugs with his family didn't bring relief like it used to.
(And Donnie faced it quite literally by turning his exposed back, his shell that despite his armor was easily reached and probably hurt by Shredder, to the enemy, not only allowing the contact, but submerging into it.
And after everything was over the hug from his family once again brought relief.)
Mikey is repressed.
We know the boy has NO problem letting everyone know when he is angry and mad! But in the movie with all the Leo-Raph fighting, with things always going wrong, he barely showed any strong negative emotion besides fear and uncertanty.
Mikey was always the openly sensitive one and he was trying his best by not adding more negativity to the fragility of their family.
He was forcing positivity and support.
Once he found out about his future mystic abilities, he latched onto them, hoping to be more of use to his family, to protect them.
(And Mikey faced it by allowing himself to be fully angry, by not giving up on Leo, channeling these emotions into finally unlocking his mystic hands!)
I also love the comparison of Leo as past and Raph as future in that one past. Leo is clinging to the post, to how things used to be, ignoring the present. And Raph was looking too much into possible future dangers, ignoring the present.
And Donnie and Mikey are the present. The ones who actually are trying to take care of their physical and emotional needs, while neglecting their own in the process.
They are the present, so they connect past and future. They tried to be there for both Raph and Leo. Training with Raph and playing games with Leo.
head empty, no thoughts. just turtleneck crowley
Ok so many good omens enjoyers have read The Doc making its rounds on here and I want to discuss the supposed hidden significance of the eccles cakes that op mentioned:
In short, I disagree that they meant anything important for season 3 because their symbolism was shown in its entirety through the context of the two scenes they are in.
The first we see of them is in the coffee shop when Aziraphale asks for something that calms people down, then in the next scene the cakes are shown, Crowley is leaving the bookshop in a barely suppressed rage. This leads the camera to focus in on a shot centering the eccles cakes, the established option to ācalm downā, and Crowleyās glasses, basically the option to leave the bookshop in anger and go blow up outside.
I really think itās as simple as that and that their significance is confined to these two scenes. I guess itās a little peculiar that they vanished afterwards without being eaten, but what reason would Neil have to continue fitting them in without making them seem even more important than they are? Three is a pattern after all.
:3
I think another big thing to consider about the end of ep 6 and Aziraphaleās decision to try and change heaven is what he just saw take place with Gabriel a few minutes beforehand.
His ex-boss Gabriel that, to Aziraphale at least, embodied everything wrong with how heaven thought and operated just had a complete change of heart and rejected heaven. So itās possible that in Aziraphaleās mind, if one of the highest ranking angels had been able to change and reject the system, then itās possible for everyone else in heaven to change as well. I think thatās also why he felt Crowley would have such a vital role in that change, because he believes there is so much to love in Crowley and he hoped that he would be able to show that to heaven and make them change too, just like he and Gabriel had changed partly because their love of a demon.
I think the Metatron kind of topped off that hope by making it seem that he was receptive to departing from the status quo as well. He mentioned that he too has tried human food and insists that Aziraphale indulges unlike the other, more uptight angels that belittled him for his interest in human delights. He then waxes off about how Aziraphale would be a great influence on and leader of heaven despite him going against heaven on so many occasions, which Aziraphale might have taken to mean that the Metatron would be receptive to altering the system to be more inline with Aziraphaleās philosophy.
So of course if both the Metatron and Gabriel, the two (or well, formerly in Gabriel case) highest ranking individuals in heaven sans God herself, had been open to change/abandoning the old heaven, then Aziraphale had a solid chance at changing the system to help everyone, especially Crowley and himself.
Just some food for thought
Donnie being wholesome/caring!š

@somerandomdudelmao... I don't know what to say about this part... Song : Unfair [edit audio] || by HMDream
it's the fact that Aziraphale still thinks Crowley's demon status is something that needs "fixing" š„² but it's also about Crowley not understanding that his "holiness" is an inherent part of Aziraphale and not something he'd give up voluntarily, it's about personal identities being lost in relationships, its about the romatinisation of "us", it's about Nina not understanding why Maggie sells records when you can stream it, it's about the inherent struggle between keeping you "you" while still finding space for "us"

Previous episode Masterpost
With the help of an ER Nurse with multiple years in her field, this is a Masterpost for an analysis on the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie on what their injuries would be were the movie seen through a realistic lens. These injuries were figured out through hours of research into the movie and injuries that could come from certain attacks, and were proofread by an EMT who said it was accurate.
This post is dedicated to the angst lovers, artists, and writers out there who enjoy being realistic or accurate in their depictions of injuries and ailments. This is for you <3
Each character's injury list has a timestamp and description of the event that caused their injuries.
And at long last, the posts.
Rules - The 'rules' of the analysis
Benefit(s) of the Doubt - Caveats, so I can excuse how Leo's somehow alive
Leoās Injuries
Donnieās Injuries
Raphās Injuries
Mikeyās Injuries
Aprilās Injuries
Casey Jrās Injuries
Splinterās Injuries
Brain Injuries
DISCLAIMER: Injuries are impossible to accurately predict, as this is both in a fictional setting and the fact that the same event could give different injuries to different people depending on many, many factors. These are theories.
Asks are open in reference to this post, and if you have anything you want to ask me about injuries in ROTTMNT episodes, for example, Iāll be happy to answer them!
Reblogs would be much appreciated, Iāve spent weeks working on this analysis between my jobs and schoolwork, and working around the schedule of professionals and their own schedules!!
//raph and donnie comfort šš
i feel like raph would be prone to overthinking when heās alone and itās too quiet, so donnie stops by to check on him and provide comfort and distractions

@somerandomdudelmao u have made a true masterpiece with this au series šš thank u for making it and I hope u enjoy the art š
Dang yeah I forgot that it would be almost entirely on Donnieās shoulders to build a new, safe lair to replace their home. I wonder if thatās why it seems like Donnie and Mikey are kind of closer in the movie, because Mikey seemed capable of using power tools and assisting Donnie with construction projects as seen in the Todd episode. So I wonder if it was mostly Mikey and Donnie spending time together as Mikey helped him to rebuilt everything.
Also I remembered that Donnie did actually invent one new thing: the escape pods. So I feel like despite not having an explicit view into how the events of season 2 impacted Donnie, these little details kind of paint a picture. Especially since both the escape pods and the focus on building a new, safer home both relate to Donnieās ability to protect his family from future dangers and his utility to the team.
or what actually would have happened:
You know what gets me though about Donnie in the movie considering he didnāt have his mystic guns from the get go? When they all get their powers taken, why didnāt Donnie grab his tech bÅ or any of the tech that he had been solely relying on for most of the series? Like dang maybe it wouldnāt have defeated the Kraang but I imagine it would have helped š.
I just find it a little wack that Donnie, who used to fight exclusively with his tech would just be equally nerfed and out of his element after getting his mysticism removed compared to his brothers that almost solely relied on mystic powers.
But, I assume the reason is that they didnāt want Donnie to be advantaged like compared to his brothers in the movie, plus, they wanted the movie to be accessible to non-fans and so maybe the series-exclusive tech bÅ would have confused them. Also, I know Donnies tech bÅ (and his other tech) broke during the Shredder attack so itās possible he never made a new one. I mean he didnāt remake Sheldon either as shown in the movie so Iām curious to what capacity he works on new tech at all after acquiring mystic powers.
In the movie, we see that he can materialize permanent objects, specifically battle shells, that are different to his temporary weapons, which glow a transparent purple compared to the solid objects.
So itās possible that after the series, he focused his efforts on advancing his mystic abilities to catch up with his brothers, causing him to have less time to build tech. This heightened mysticism plus limited time to make tech traditionally could have made him more inclined to just will tech into existence using his powers when the situation required it. If he had been making tech using his powers and never got the chance to rebuild his old stuff, itās possible he didnāt use traditional tech against the Kraang because he just didnāt have any available and couldnāt make more without his powers. Or at least this is what Iām gonna tell myself as a cope
Anyways I realize now that this is kind of detached from the original post, but I just keep thinking about how different the movie would be if Donnie just used his old tech.
