I’m a Yoda fan. Not an apologist. I just think his crimes were funny. I think he should hide in bushes around the senate and trip Palpatine as he passes. I feel like he could have fixed the galaxy that way. I think he should eat raw frog on live tv while they try to stop him. He should be allowed to infiltrate dreams in the form of that frog crying out in pain. I liked his crimes I think he should have gone farther with them.

do you think the birth families of the jedi mourned when they heard the news about order 66. do you think they worried and that they weeped when the clone wars began and they heard that their children were going off to fight in it. do you think they looked at their calendars and kept track of how old their children had become every birthday. do you think they knew that their child was only 10 when they were murdered during order 66. do you think any jedi went out to find their birth parents after losing the only family they really knew. do you think any families sheltered other escaping jedi, knowing what likely happened to their own. do you think the families cried. do you think they mourned. do you think, even though they hadn't seen their children in years... they still weeped?
Padmé’s death is the most clear cut suicide in the franchise. She has no indication that her death will benefit anyone, nor has she been told by anyone that death is on the horizon; and yet, she wants to. The love of her life has become master of Hell, the father of her children has set the galaxy aflame, and the ruling body she gave her life to has gone obsolete—indeed, always was. How could we talk Padmé off the ledge at this moment? How could anyone? Ultimately, the film doesn’t ask us to. This is a tragedy. The point is not to berate our protagonists into healthier living choices, but to watch them fall into the abyss. At the end of every good tragedy, there’s nothing else left.
So Padmé falls neatly into the canon of self-annihilating tragic heroines. Her death is not inspiring, or productive, or well-adjusted, but it is her death. The means, the reasons, the aftermath, all belong to her. Padmé, the victim of multiple assassination attempts from the ages of fourteen to twenty-four, warrior on the frontlines of the battles of Naboo and Geonosis, survivor of Nexu claws, force choking, and a difficult trauma-informed birth, dies firmly and exclusively because she wanted to. If she wanted to live, she would’ve lived. This is not a weakening death, especially when compared to oft-cited “strong” deaths like having Anakin kill her. One wonders: how is Padmé choosing to die less empowering than having that choice taken from her?

And we must ask ourselves. is Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith the greatest and most important movie of all time. well it’s definitely possible
The thing with Palpatine is that I do believe he cared for Anakin, like, he really did! In a extremely twisted way, because see, he really DIDN'T need Anakin, seriously he didn't. Palpatine's plan was going to work either way and he already had power over a republic already becoming a failed state.
For him Anakin was kinda just a whim, a little extra thing to rub on the face of the jedi to take their golden powerful chosen one and make him a menace from the inside. He really DIDN'T NEED to put on the work to groom him for over a decade, exhaust him emotionally and isolate him to the point of extreme distress, like he seriously put a lot of work on it and it wasn't needed.
So he cares for Anakin like the thing he's a bit obssesed with, he cares for Anakin the same way you care for an extra score, like the cherry on the top, he cares for Anakin in a possesive 'Look what I made of him', which is pretty much what abusive parents that see their children as just an extension of themselves do. But there is some very twisted and awful love in there, and Vader probably knows that, and in his fried mind he's unable to be anything else but grateful that there's someone that cares for him even if is for, yknow, a walking weapon.
Palpatine didn't really to put on the work to go and look for Vader when he sensed he was in danger, nor to put on all the work to put him into an Iron-Maiden-Suit, like yeah he relished in the torture, but he didnt want him to lose him just yet. It isnt until 20 years later that he seems to be kinda okayish with Vader dying, and partially i think is because at that point he got a bit bored of Vader lol
But my point is that he did put an awful lot of work for something completely unnecessary for his plans, an awful lot of work just to rub it on the face of the jedi that didnt even exist anymore for the most part. Except to maybe have the last laugh at Yoda and Obi-Wan. So yeah, Anakin was Palpatine's little prized pet, and probably his little obssesion, like I'm sure it just made his game more entertaining; but also he's repeating the cycle that all sith have been doing.
He's in a way just doing exactly what Plagueis did with him, because man being a sith lord surely sounds lonely, after a while you might as well start caring for the guy that you're trying to manipulate into murdering everything that moves since he was 9, even if is in a very selfish and dehumanizing way.

It takes some time for the festivities on Endor and in the wider galaxy to fizzle down, and even longer still for anything to even slightly settle long enough for both of them to rest. There’s always some new problem arising, some new political drama or skirmish with remnants who don’t take the Emperor’s death well or don’t believe in it at all. But Luke and Leia have always been good at adapting and they always manage to squeeze time to talk to each other, whether it’s in the corner of a peace gala or in a dropship headed to the frontlines.
For those first few weeks, their conversations always seem to circle back around to the fact that they’re twins, and what this means for them both. In some ways, there’s not a lot to discuss; their bond goes deeper than blood or friendship, it runs through the songs of the Force, stronger than anything Luke has ever felt. One night, they spend hours comparing and trying to work out what was coincidence and what were actually latent Force abilities. They talk about childhood dreams of each other’s planets and how — despite both losing all they had once called home only hours before and the imminent threat — everything just felt right when they reunited on the Death Star. Like a small part of them had been missing until then, tied by invisible string to something very far away.
Outside of it connecting her to new twin, Leia does not seem interested in the Force. She listens intently when he tells her what he knows of the Force, but Leia has never wanted to be a Jedi. She is a politician, like the mother and father who raised her were. She spends her busy days on Coruscant and Chandrila and wherever else she’s required to go to build the fractured Republic her parents tried to save. She finds as much time as she can for him , but she finds time inside of that only to learn the basics of Jedi training, nothing more.
Luke understands. It’s alright. He’s sure more Jedi will resurface soon, now the Empire has been defeated. It’s just a matter of time...

the Star Wars universe is great because you read enough you eventually find out things like the fact that the Stormtrooper whose armor Luke stole in Episode IV was gay and in an affair with fucking Grand Moff Tarkin, which is a completely canonical fact that I am not making up.
