Regarding the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock, read some of the Sioux comment made…
“We cannot throw the Earth away like old shoes and iPhones, this is civil rights!”
“We need our water to drink.”
The Pipeline would cut through their land, where American’ Chiefs’ (Presidents) promised the Indians the land would be theirs, in perpetuity.
The fight continues to protect the land and natural resources of Standing Rock from the threat posed by the Dakota Access Pipeline. Listen to the representatives of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe tell us why it matters to them and why it should matter to you.

WORLDS OLDEST DRESS
It is almost impossible to imagine that any item of clothing from ancient times had survived to the present day. The world’s oldest dress, dating between 3482 BC and 3130 BC years, is named, “The Tarkham Dress” since it’s discovery in 1913 from the town where it was found. It is a very finely woven linen apparel. Alice Stevenson, curator of the Museum of Egyptian Archeology says, “The dress has provided people with a real sense of the antiquity and longevity of the ancient Egyptian state and society.

U.aS. Election Spending Using his $330 million, I’ll bet Donald Trump sent an SOS to Russia in his seemingly unreasonable rants to the public, ‘asking to be saved’ from Hillary Clinton s “$1.2 billion”, spent on the campaign. Or maybe it was just his support of wife from Slovenia.
CIA REPORTS IN SEPTEBER THAT RUSSIAN HACKING IS INTERFERING IN US ELECTIONS
In September, in a Congressional meet meant to establish bipartisan support in order to stand with the international community against Russian government interference in US elections, as reported by the CIA, President Obama’s had his idea squashed by Mitch McConnell, a seemingly unAmerican act, threatening partisan action. In a check on the government, the media had publicized this with varying results.

World Problems?
As the previous blog mentioned, there are places and things out there that are not contained or looked after, either due to size and/or outside of one country’s realm of control. That blog mentioned that, even though the World’s oceans cover 72 million square miles, it not on it’s own, it has troubles no one nation can deal with. The United Nations has responsibility for “relations and commerce” rules between many nations; it took that over from “the League of Nations” after WW2, that didn’t redirect troubles then. Another hot spot is Antarctica, which no Nation has permanent settlements on, but there are stations at differing locations there. Space is no one’s property, but “The Big Three”, the US, Russia and China have put space vehicles on the Moon, a quarter of a million miles away. Does this mean these countries “control space”? No, it just means they reach farther than others, sooner. No, the things no nation has bearing over is right in front of our collective faces. During the USA’s 1969 Apollo program to the moon, and when at the Moon, it was remarked that the Earth looked like “a pale blue marble” and was “very small”. The World is growing smaller every day.
Since Guglielmo Marconi invented the first working wireless radio in 1894, we “have come a long way” from dots and dashes to Broadcast Radio to Television to the the Internet, completed in under 100 years. Not much later, the world is in our pockets, with instant visual communication on opposite sides of the Earth for those that own or can reach a computer with the Internet, and it is ubiquitous.
There is person to person visual communication, broadcasting by individual to groups - text, audio or video, stock markets, consumer companies in one country selling to peoples in a country thousands of miles away or next door, library borrowing of ancient texts by other libraries, schooling from Institutions to third world countries, monitoring by security services of all types and more. The Internet has a place in the world of communication, alongside radio, the telephone and television. Even though it can emulate those electronics, a simple radio or cell phone is cheaper and easier to use than a computer with a connection, and a television has timely broadcasting networks that computers with internet connections follow. The computer/internet has a place of it’s own. What will happen from this result?
The World
10 years after Marconi invented radio and connected all the world, WW1 began, then about 10 years (1918) to the Stock Market collapsing after stock prices plummeted. The “Great Depression” that followed lasted 10 years, preceding WW2, and about 10 years after that the Korean War - ended - in a ‘stalemate’, still going on. The “Cold War” began with Sputnik about 10 years later, which ended when America landed on the Moon in 1969 - about 10 years later. Interestingly, “the Internet” could be said to have begun in late 1970’s and early 1980’s, ten years after the Moon landing. The USSR broke up anywhere from 1992 to 1995 becoming “Russia”, and 2001 is a memory. Were we expecting 'something’ in 2000? Don’t forget 2006-8 was a World economic problem we pulled out of, slowly, to be sure; and by 2010 we were well 'back on our way’ to economic recovery. Marconi, what did you do? :-)
The generation retiring at this time is much larger size than the following one, from “the Baby Boom”, making financial recovery seemingly hard. They know what to do, but are not working to do it. And 2010 is about 10 years after 2000, another 'expectation’. What will happen 10 years after that? Wait another 5.75 years.

Imagine above … the “Life Cycle of a Star”. It grows from gravity-fed interstellar matter until it glows, … then explodes to life! Some billions of years later, in burning out, begins to collapse, becoming smaller and smaller, massivity decreasing toward a single point, nuclear reactions ocurring for heavier ad heavier elements, ‘growing’ smaller and smaller. Soon mass will (may) become so compact, so small, as to draw in - even light! This occurs in the instant less than - a second! More mass at a point means more gravity by that point; What happened to ”E=Mc^2” ?! Inward implosions inflame interior recesses never yet seen, and the black hole, the dark star, forms. Stop. We are watching the event occur - in our time! - of a black hole forming.
What happens? At the ‘event horizon” we are watching at a safe distance in space-time, the ”dark star’s once-insides” turns black, reflecting, releasing, no more light energy, no more normal ”star-stuff”. Outside, light rushes away and escapes ultimate destruction, of crushingly into itself, informing the remaining universe of a star’s final furies. ”Gravity pulls material inward, gas pressure pushes outward”.
Basically, with these words, a black hole has formed.
Past the event horizon, no more light, or even possibly energy, escapes, and we no longer can tell, visually, virtually that anything is there. Nothing. But now, new rules. What happens when atomic and nuclear structure breaks apart?
It’s been said, similar to chemical reactions, some parts of those ”atom’s inside’s” slip away, when confronted with stronger energies, some other’s join up. Billions and billions of atoms, trillions more ‘re-actions’ until the ”Singularity” point in our space-time has been reached. More ”new rules”.
What happens to all that matter and energy that once was? All that massive, trillion-ton star mass … vanishing? What happens? Aside from - the fantastic flash of final flame that can be seen across a galaxy - nothing?
Nothing but the usual goings on of a trillion-ton ”gas mass”. With the incredible ”forms in space, forms of space and time”, the billions, the trillions! of reactions, … the energy … where does it go? Energy IS matter, matter, energy. Relentless energy, and … dark matter production, is there ‘nothing’ else? What ARE the ”new Dark Matter rules”? Do we have ”Dark Matter” with so much open and released energy?

You Can’t Go ‘Bloody Wrong’
December 11, 2013
Ever see that red stuff inside you? It’s more than likely, as a child you cut, scraped or viewed someone else’s blood, whether pouring out or just appearing at skin level. A definition of ”blood”:
“Blood is a connective tissue, with a fluid rather than a solid matrix. Blood functions mainly in transporting substances from one part of the body to another and in immunity. It is pushed and pulled through the body’s system of blood vessels by the heart muscle. The average body has 4 -6 liters, 8% of body weight, of blood constituents called plasma, red and white blood cells, and platelets. Plasma makes just over half the volume of blood, which is 90% water and is the transport medium. In every cubic mm of the remaining ‘blood’ are 5 -6 million red blood cells, 5 - 10 thousand white blood cells and 250 - 400 thousand platelets. Red cells transport oxygen, white cells help defend the body.”
We don’t have to worry, that when cut it will not all ‘leak out’. The platelets and fibrinogen help to clot any ‘leaks’ when exposed to the air. Regarding ”types” of blood, there are 32 of those, with the major ones being ‘A, B, AB, and O’ with combining ‘+ ’ and ‘-’ of those. Which depends on heredity, from each parent.
Whatever the case, it’s something not thought about, and in doing so, we don’t think of the help and assistance we could do to those that need it.
Ever saved a life? In the US, someone needs blood every 2 seconds.
When you donate part of your blood, every part of that is used, and surgeons could not operate without blood. Platelets last only five days and are needed by trauma victims and chemotherapy/radiation patients. Plasma can be used immediately or frozen up to a year for use. Red blood cells last up to 42 days.
Every part of your donated blood is used, and everyone needing a surgeon’s services needs blood, every 2 seconds.
You can donate blood one time or regularly where there are parked and running ”Bloodmobiles”, or at business locations, ”Blood Source”. When you go to a ”BloodSource” to donate, you are signed in and complete a questionnaire regarding history; usually of diseases you’ve never heard of and aspirin taken in the last 48 hours. Then, you are escorted to a comfy chair upon you will wait while donating. There are recent movies available you can listen to on private earphones or your radio. Or even do crosswords or read; but be aware of not moving the arm being used (don’t forget - saving lives!).
You might be put off by the machinery or tubing, but you only have to ask to get immediate attention. A warm blanket on your arm might distract continued glances or, if you feel cold, a blanket over the rest of you! The attendees are polite, attentive, and well-trained. Basically, remember the movie is there.
Then, before you know it, your time is done, another number of lives saved, or helped from the ‘bother before surgery’. You are offered (the required) snacks and soda and asked to recoup oh, maybe 15 minutes, but you can take your time.
Those that donate blood can return in 8 weeks; plasma, 4 weeks and platelets every 2 weeks. Realize, however, those are minimums, you could be too busy or your health requires lengthier times. Donations are accepted by young (17+) and old (no limit), men and women. You are given your BP, amount of total donated and told, ”Yes, you do save lives”. Because you do. It’s no joke.

Climate Change Promotes People Problems
December 14, 2013
In a BBC news article, because of weather causing homes to be destroyed, farmlands to be flooded, and low lying cities to be inundated, the BBC explains that is why poor people remain poor. The more developed nations are doing what they can, but more is needed. Children in low income neighborhood are prone to depression; and a quarter of the World’s children are struggling to learn because of malnutrition. With no hope of something better for your children, sometimes life seems too hard. What would you do for your children? These too, are people problems.
At present, those without are barely keeping up with clean water; food is hard to come by, so the housing - homes put together with tin and discarded scraps - is simply not possibly able to be improved and ‘reinforced’ against ANY possible weather conditions.
There will be 325 million of those people, highly exposed to the elements by 2030 in 49 countries. Sub-Saharan Africa will be home to 118 million, over a third of that ‘people number’. Expert researchers for the Overseas Development Institute have ”often heard that ill health is what keeps people poor”. If we are going to feed and care for the third world, we must consider better ways to house them - or take Climate Change into account - which would help US also. It would do ”a world full of good”.
And Some Are Thinking Ahead
The Peace Research Institute in Oslo, Norway, the journal, ‘Science”, and the University of California at Berkeley have completed and compared several dozen studies of relationships between climate (not weather) and conflict. These compilations are from most regions of the world, and from points in the past 10,000 years. 100’s of papers were weeded out.
They find a correlation as to what they call, being ”hot and bothered”, differing from ‘cool and composed’. In other, more obvious words, “higher temperatures and a disagreeable attitude are connected”. Some disagree, however. They say that the underlying mechanisms remain unclear”, that is, no ”A causes B”.
More Reptiles?
Another, interesting point is that, due to Climate Change, warming makes reptiles bigger, and mammals smaller. This change has been recorded in the Florida Museum of Natural History, and in the journal ”Science Writers 2013”.
Now, most would consider reptiles more distant from ourselves than other mammals, and that when hearing the word ‘reptile’ thinks of dinosaurs, crawling creatures and lizards, mostly animals to avoid. This ‘swerving of nature’ toward animals we avoid may be deemed towards more - violence - and it may not. It is just included here for the reader.
”Murders Could Follow Math Law”
In South America, in one country, the murder rate is exceedingly high. Postulates say that it is due to poverty, population concentrations, and ”loss of face”, requiring revenge. Again, however, statistics show those are in the same pot, but ”there is no cause and effect”, no ”A causes B”. Some ask “Can Big Data Help Predict Future Crime”? Ever hear of a movie about “Pre-crime”, starring Tom Cruise? My question: Is this “comparable information” with Climate Change? Are they, too, ”hot and bothered”? Is this information being discouraged?
”Air Pollution Kill Millions Each Year”
In cities, even avoiding crime, where high ‘particulate matter’, fine dust material suspended in the air (pollution), premature mortality exceeds others by 15 - 20%. WHO, the “World Health Organization” says Beijing, Karachi, New Delhi, Kahmandu, Lima, Shanghai, Arequipa, Mexico City, Cairo are such cities. That’s over 86.7 million total population, of which over 17 million deaths are preventable! Because there are multiple cities in different countries, WHO says it’s beyond individual control and that a national or international body is needed.
How much is the value of 17 million lives? There could be another Einstein! Another Mandela!!
Air Is Everywhere - No One Country Owns It, But One Could Ruin It -
The BBC reports ”Air Pollution Still Is Harming Health”.
NBC news reported in July 2013 that ‘air pollution causes Lung Cancer and worsens Heart Failure’, virtually the same words. There is the indicator that ”more pollution equals more disease”.
The Danish Cancer Society Research Center says ”there is no safe level” or, ‘if you live in a polluted city, you will get these diseases’.
In Japan, the Okayama University Graduate School of Environmental and Life Sciences reported in the Lancet Medical Journal that, after compiling and correlating 17 different studies of over 300, 000 people in 9 European countries over 13 years, that a (as tiny as) “a ten micro-gram per cubic meter increase in Co2 will cause a 2% increase in the likelihood of Heart failure” … !
In another grouping of 47 studies of the greenhouse gases in the air of the US and Europe, that with an increase of 1 ppm (part per million) of Co2 (gasoline exhaust), you will have a 3.5% increased risk for Heart failure… One wonders if that is over a lifetime, or annually, or … shorter?
Overall …
These are not inconsequential studies, and neither are they area specific. The indication is that, according to accumulated knowledge, past recorded events and computer modeling, that “what we make is killing us”. Have you ever heard about lemmings? How about just going out and jumping over a cliff? We are smarter than that, aren’t we? If one saw a rake with prongs up, would -you- turn it over? How about a field full of ‘prong exposed’ rakes?
Again, it is beyond individual control, but together, we are stronger than by ourselves.

Thanks. Let's see responses.
IT’S “THE PEOPLE” VERSUS THE GOVERNMENT … Wait A Minute,
THE PEOPLE ARE THE GOVERNMENT!
This National Security Agency has people working inside it - they are working for US. The problem lies in privacy versus information; The NSA (not NRA) wants to know what ‘we’ are doing, ‘we’ want to be left alone.
Any national security problem concerns itself with ”what is it”? That would be the NSA, the CIA, the FBI, the DIA or whatever 3 or more alphabet letters you choose to print. They want to know, “are they secure”, “is there any leak”, “does anyone know”, “are the bad guys planning something big”, or the Big Guys planning something bad? Those are far-reaching, world-wide, and permanent arguments in question, Mr.Internet, and soon, very soon it will reach Mars. Those are very definite concerns for each and every American, and not something to be complained over and look away. Let’s get it right the first time.
Any private citizen wants to put his ‘life story’ on the ‘net, and/or be assured that only friends; or ‘gfs’ they are looking for, get that; or business associates get what data they enter and only them - no one else. “I’m a private citizen, and my Right’s are in question here, Mr.!”
Nobody, nobody, nobody cares if you listen to itunes while you work. Nobody cares if you watch humorous, or raunchy YouTube videos. No one cares if you email your significant other about groceries to bring home (Okay, some, but not all). And nobody (else) cares about your social website ‘data’.
Only when illegal are you breaking the law. The same-sex marraige and proposed marijuana laws are an example of how to change a law that some think is worthwhile, demonstrating about something that they ‘feel’ is right. That may be upsetting to others, but it’s the ”right way” to get such things done, peacefully. Let’s air out our differences.
The NSA vs “the people” is truly Worldwide, in as diverse places as Germany, England, Brazil and Venezuela. With those being the most vociferous, it’s certain this ‘trouble’ is elsewhere, hidden behind cultural differences or need for power. And, due to the necessating - secrecy - involved, seems one-sided, America - the NSA vs ”US” - with US on the always right’ side. In any case, a ‘business’ will not want scrutiny - someone will always find something wrong. Standing back, one can see that it’s also everyone using an internet, infranet or ‘some such similar software sequence’. Only two days ago - I heard that was 85% of the United States.
Someone (hint: person in Russia) is in the middle, joined by news readers daily. He may be offered and accept amnesty, and promised ”Due Process”. That would be only expected.
It requires noted knowledge in The Constitution about our rights, which is how and why this has gotten so much publicity, somewhat like President Roosevelt warned us about, ”the Military-Industrial Complex”. Once started, it’s a ‘steamroller’.
There has to be a middle ground. No one person is going to get away with any criminal activity of any type, not at this point. No business of any size or type is going to gather up everyone’s private contact data and sell or ‘pass it along’ - legally, including Target stores, who recently had private credit data hacked.
The current situation is this; a national government agency of no previous national ill repute has - without direct, obvious choice, one way or the other within that agency, chosen to protect the nation in the best, and with the most significant means possible without causing obvious upset, until now.
The problem is that many folks with responsibility over large number of more or less randomly insignificant ‘security keys’ have been publicly been ”scooped”, to use a news term, by a former ”insider”. Supposedly, “insiders know it all”, and have evidentally touched a nerve from the distance of a former “Cold” opponent. For the uniformed, that means that anything from that side is suspect and immediately deemed wrong. It’s like the ‘60’s song title, “That Was Then, This Is Now”.
Just today, the president is meeting with fifteen heads of companies in Silicon Valley to talk over ‘surveillance reform’ in an open letter. According to this source, they also want to talk of ”sharing more information”. Hmm. And, on December nineteenth, all 193 member states of the UN voted ”to respect and protect rights to privacy, and that includes digital communication”, according to RT.
So remember, it’s ubiquitous - has to do with our connections - on the internet.
It’s a ‘high-profile’ subject, including heads of state and very large, worldwide industry.
It’s from ‘the Cold side’, touchy.
It has to do with ”our Rights”, never an uninteresting discussion.
It should be questioned to get it right the first time, being ubiquitous, high profile, touchy -and- has to do, very much, with our future.
So, why not, when we are filling that yes/no form on our ‘profile’ or entering into that ‘social website’ or signing up on the latest news site, have two sides, one with public, one with private information that ‘We’ and the NSA require for internet use? That would make it obvious as to what ‘they’ get, and what what ‘we’ keep’, possibly in ‘non internet connected memory’. What we should do is, 1) require new inputs for new ‘net input, public and private, and 2) decide what to do with Mr. Amnesty.
Any comments on this Blog are welcomed.

Project Blue (@proj_blue) tweeted at 1:49 PM on Dec 04:
Interested in the science of imaging Earth-like #exoplanets? See this @reddit_AMA w NASA scientists doing just that:
Project Blue is a Kickstarter, crowd funding campaign to finance plans to build an orbiting telescope capable of imaging a planet in the AlphaCenturi star system, a first. No telescope, however large, has yet done that.
It will employ nested lenses capable of being focused by warping, and also of blocking the intense light of a star, 4.37 light years away, in order to see the dim planet.
So far, Kickstarter has received 1,000 donations, and that was the first number to tackle. Now Project Blue has gone beyond that.
It appears their next goal include building a starship that can get there in 40 years instead of 10’s of thousands. That’s would be at approximately 1/10 the the speed of light!
This starship may only include machinery, sensors computers and a radio, as well as propulsion and antenna, and not include people. Since it took 9.5 years for a conventional spacecraft to reach Pluto, the idea of a non-conventional positron-electron powered ship to reach the nearest star in 40 years is a real jump in propulsion invention and may have barriers to overcome. This idea of a new way is not uncommon in America, we invent news ways all the time. Kickstarter and Project Blue and are standing on the edge of reality, both in devices and present knowledge. Want to take a Ride?
The American River bike trail, ARBT, runs with no bumps or potholes, nearly, from downtown Sacramento Discovery Park to old Folsom, both are Pony Express stops. It’s 35 miles of “green traveling” along a well maintained asphalt pathway following the American and Sacramento rivers. Some spots are even being fenced off and replanted. . Drinking water and portable outhouses are provided, no worries for tired riders or bike tires. Very scenic, lots of trees, plants, bushes, Grey or Ground Squirrels, the occasional pet, and of course, bicycle riders. There are many access roads from Folsom, Sacramento and places in between. Many will drive from Folsom, park the car, ride or raft to Sacramento, driving or bicycling back home. I rode one way in 3 hours, very scenic. You could be careful by having an extra tire, but that’s just in case. . From the trees and such, it’s a quiet ride mostly, but the trail crosses under several more than 2 lane roads, it’s “God’s bicycle country”. In any case, you will see only bicyclists or joggers of both sexes only. Many days will see empty trails; however, it’s a good sign in seeing others, knowing your bicycling efforts are not alone. . There is at least one sign, thank you Department of Public Works and County Parks, with 100’s of Golden Poppies, California’s State Flower, this 2014 Spring. . So we gravel roads run parallel for maintenance trucks that travel the route and keep all up to shape. It’s well travelled, but well maintained. A riding rules and large map are available from county parks.
