experience in RP. so there was this vampire knight community where i wrote zero for about a year or two and then moved to death note where i played mikami for another couple years, it was mostly forum-based rps and when i found out about tumblr wrote midorima shintaro for years and then rohan kishibe, leone abbacchio, risotto nero, chrollo, yomo, xanxus, byakuran, ogata all at the same time and then took like 3 years of break and came back with geto but also met kaiser and was like why not so now im hopping from geto to this multi to kaiser and whatever i feel like writing. my maths arent adding though but just know ive been rpying since i was 12 and unsupervised.
best experiences. writing golden kamuy with my friend spice who's no longer on tumblr! i feel like my writing improved a lot while exploring ogata's character — in fact i think he's my favorite muse that i've written ever, for anyone who doesn't know about GK please read it ! it's such a great manga and ogata one of the best written characters ever and jsyk he was ranked 7th for the 4th consecutive year in the yumejoshi top. another great experience was getting back to rp this year! i got to meet a lot of new people and made new friends who are also obsessed with geto.
pet peeves / dealbreakers. duplicate jealousy or whatever it's called. i don't really do exclusives because i think everyone writes their own muse differently so it's a big deal breaker for me that someone is unfriendly towards or does't welcome writers of the same muse. uh... aside from that, i don't really know what else. i'm pretty laid back and shrug off a lot of things.
muse preference (angst, fluff + smut). a bit of everything actually! a lot of angst gets too heavy for me eventually, comedy gets tiring, smut also gets old, so you could say i prefer varying there's really no preference. though i do favor character study! love analyzing a character's psyche and their responses, love putting my pookies into situations.
plots or memes. memes are usually better for me but that's because i'm really slow on discord since i'm always working, drawing or at the gym fighting for my life, so plotting privately might get frustrating with me :melt: unless you're really patient or just as busy as me lmao

what would a jjk/psycho pass mash up look like?
gojo and geto would probably have similar roles as kogami and makishima with the exception that they'd known each other from before. i can see geto antagonizing the system for the same reasons as makishima: his character is built around revolution, the one-eyed madman in a world of blind people and for that he was led astray and isolated, by choice and by the impossibility of ever being understood and then going radical on the system that tore him apart. it's not too different from makishima's own role in the universe of PP and gojo, well, he'd probably differ in the way that unlike JJK he doesn't have to execute him and there's the option of disappearing from the city but would geto accept it? would he really be able to leave everything behind for a short-lived fantasy? that'd take convincing that depends entirely on gojo's own approach of the situation, if he comes to that point of grasping geto's intentions not too late as he did in jjk but sometime earlier.
now for kogami in a jjk setting i can see him being born with a heavenly restriction in order to oppose to makishima's special grade ability, to balance out the anomaly that is his existence in the sorcerer world. same way that geto was born a short time after gojo, with an ability to stabilize what gojo's birth moved, the only curse that could hinder the six eyes, kogami would likewise be the other end of their dichotomy.

for that i'd have to also out my other ships sugimoto/ogata and sherlock/william, which also fall somewhere in the spectrum of psychosexual obsession.
i've written both makishima and kogami and based solely on the canon material it's undeniable that they are two sides of the same coin, perhaps made of the same stuff and you can't take one out of the map without ripping a fundamental part out of the other, their characters are complementary to each other and i think that if it weren't for their opposing roles they might've become "closer" as any rivals would be in a conventional world, but they are two unconventional minds in an unconventional setting so it was bound to end in death or mutual destruction for them. they're so alike and so different at the same time that for every trait that draws kogami towards makishima there's another opposing one that repels him. how scary it must be that there is someone who you have not yet seen in person and only through photographs, through conversations, through myths, someone who might as well not exist and yet he knows everything about you and only you seem to understand the inner machinations of his mind even though you've never met? it's like chasing a ghost that's already possessed you, an apparition luring you deep in the abyss. i think that's what's charming about them tbh, the mutual obsession.

“since the bridge, this is the most honest thing you’ve told me. excluding the confession from a moment’s ago, of course.” he jabs slightly at william’s pride, maybe payback for the scare of walking up into an empty room and messy sheets. satisfied by the remark, sherlock smoothly waltzes back into the next sentence, “you know exactly what i want. i’m betting a big coin that you’ve known for a long time, and still you denied me it above everything else. it’s late to ask me to hold back, knowing how far it’s taken me — us for that matter.”
a smirk escapes him, throwing a sideways glance at him. william’s hair glows under the sunlight, and though his face is partly scarred, none of the beauty that’d drawn him in from the start like a moth to a flame is marred. before he can stop himself, two fingers take a stand of gold-bathed hair, places it aside to take a long, good look of those features. yes, the face is a lure, and the mind behind it even more so. “it’s you.”

voice lulls the despairing pleas that came in between their pressed mouths, seeking each other’s warmth, hungry for a taste of the other. sherlock’s finger traces a line across the fine curve of william’s cheekbones, down his jawline, committing to memory every little detail. it’s not nearly enough, he thinks.
haunting william’s every thought is the beginning - breaking him is beyond his intentions, but creation doesn’t love stagnancy, nothing is created from the static. for there to be something to change, a body has to be broken beforehand, split into smaller components, rearranged and treasured, and who else is better at dismantling layers upon layers of facade than a detective smitten by the temptation of mystery? shrouded in these lies, william’s become something even sweeter, addictive like no other.
sherlock’s mind wanders, blue sapphire meeting ruby-tinted eyes. “ well - can’t say it bothers me, having every bit of you, including your thoughts. would love to listen what’s inside that head of yours. is it something you can give me, liam? ”
to purposefully goad him into something harsher feels like a poor call, and still, the gnawing feeling in his chest doesn’t fade away. instead, the pace quickens, his stomach shrinks with something akin to desire, the kind that leaves a man hovering close to the edge, stalked by the abyss. he wants to take the leap, give it all in, to be engulfed by nothing else but the depths of william’s thoughts. a selfish parts wants it to belong only to him. he lets it spill all at once: his mouth returns to its previous position, sucking at william’s lower lip, hands occupied with unfastening william’s belt, then his own.
he takes both their sensitive points in a grip.
it’s quick, insistent. he’s got none of the care and patience that distinguishes william’s gait, the way he crafts his plans; sherlock is aware of the chaos, the force that makes the house of cards crumble. william gasps beneath him, their bodies finding the perfect rhythm between fluid riding and heavy pressure as he pushes william further down into the mattress. the sun’s all set now, leaving only darkness in its absence. the night gives them privacy, bad deeds done in secret but there’s nothing sacrilegious about this. william is the closest thing to heaven sherlock’s ever had, if there was a God at all.

that's honestly how i feel too, sometimes i've read more in-character approaches of a character in pwp fics than in whatever threads nonshipping fans make on twitt dot com. what matters to me at the end of the day is how the characters are written in the dynamic, probably my only turn-off in regards shipping is when a character who is fundamentally broken, has a wrapped perception of society or human relationships, is written as romantic and like a dream boyfriend/girlfriend because that's not who they are. but when the character's method for love and their response to being loved is approached like in canon, with all the visceral disgust, or the obsessive patterns, or the self-sabotage... now we're talking. shipping can be an extension of character study and everything depends on the writer *shrug*
This is genuinely apropos of nothing but I am thinking about how annoying I find it when people insinuate that shipping is like, somehow diametrically at odds with being invested in a narrative for its own sake because like……I have rarely ever been interested in a ship that was not itself an expression of the narrative themes and character arcs. Investment in the narrative IS the very reason I care about a ship.
I feel like it makes no sense to pretend like these are entirely separate activities (although I understand for some people they are/can be) when to me MOST of the time, for most of the things I seriously ship, they are inextricable.
