what if zam and mapic got those bracelets where if you press/hold the top of one than the other bracelet glows for that duration
they use it when the other ignores them or when they’re irritated with the other so they start spamming the bracelet and suddenly the others wrist starts flickering for a good 5 minutes regardless of what they’re doing
middle of a battle- random flickering, trying to brew pots- random flickering, sleeping- random flickering, eating- random flickering, in an important meeting- random flickering, trying to hide from an enemy invis- random flickering
both bracelets are synced to have the same level of brightness so occasionally when trying to find the other while flying, one would crank the light level to max and scan for a beacon level of immense light before the other gets a chance to turn it down
they toned down the mass flickering once they realized how often they would need to change the battery
at a point it switched completely, mapic got bored and had the idea to start trying to communicate with morse code, zam was not in favour of it as they could just whisper if needed but mapic heavily disagreed
once when zam was trying to ignore the flickering while building, 4c gasped from a house over and zam became alarmingly aware and concerned of what the lights had just spelled out, he asked but 4c refused to elaborate, not daring to repeat it so after great irritation and debating whether to take the bracelet off or learn morse code, zam gave in

i did not forget to post here totally (i forgot to post here agai
i do think theres something to be said abt the fact that mapicc has been upset bc he feels abandoned by the empire and by zam, bc he feels like zam used him until he got a new team, and bc minute being on two hearts means the entire empire is entirely reliant on him to be the strong one.
and how mapicc is now working very closely w flame. who would never need him to fight, doesnt intend on ever being his teammate or relying on him for anything, and who seems to be willing to help him w HIS ideas without expecting anything in return so long as their interests align. like idk i dont even think he conciously sought this type of relationship out but i do think the fact that theyre both seeking independence and currently lashing out is like, interesting. theres something there, i just dont know how to word it
Parrot feels himself breaking and Wato is right there with the others to catch him.
This might be a spoiler to the newest UU video from Parrot about the first War, so just as a notice <3
I first wrote this when I was watching the video and edited it a little just now, so here you go :D This video broke me on so SO MANY LEVELS YOU CANT BELIEVE IT
Also warning for:
Description of violent urges & thoughts, mention or hinted at death, etc
Parrot‘s feet hit the ground. He stumbles forward, barely catching himself as the armour weights him down.
His wings hurt, his arms ache and his head is spinning, yet no pain can come close to the way the racing heart in his chest is burning and tearing apart. He wants to yell, to run and kick and scream and tear out someone‘s life from them. He wants to feel the blood on his hands, to feel the way they struggle underneath his grasp until their body becomes lifeless.
Parrot wants - no, needs to get his hands bloody and bruised until the world stops being unjust, until him and -
"Here, take this," a soft mutter catches his attention and it takes a second for Parrot to realise where he was, what was happening. He lightly shakes his head to try and pull himself out of his haze, eyes drifting down to the helmet that was being offered to him by Wato.
Wato looks up at him when Parrot doesn‘t react to it much more, offering a hesitant smile. "It‘s the only one I have, but you need something."
Parrot slowly, briefly looks behind Wato and sees Kenadian, talking about something with a helmet too. Did his break during the fight too? Maybe Kenadian should take it, Parrot thinks, maybe if he had a better helmet and gear he could‘ve tanked the fight. Maybe then they wouldn’t be here, stranded out in the open, looking for scraps of their resources.
"Take it, I don‘t need it," Wato pushes again and this time steps closer to him. Parrot sees them reach out with the turtle helmet, not hovering over his head just yet but nudging towards it as if asking for permission. He gives a weak nod and Wato sighs, gently adjusting the helmet to sit on his head and brushing out any stray hair or feather that might otherwise sit uncomfortably. Parrot sees them reach for something in their bags, but they don‘t step back. Instead, he watches as Wato pulls out a handful of golden carrots and reaches out to hold onto his hand. He can barely feel the weight of the carrots but the small warmth that sparks upon their hands meeting feels burning and like a pained reminder of the life he had just lost. Of the friend he had lost.
"Here, and, uh," Wato stumbles a little over her words as she reaches back into the bag. Parrot doesn‘t speak as a golden apple or two are pressed back into his hand and now the weight of them feels more real, like he‘s actually holding and not just observing them. "Some of these-"
Just as Wato goes to fumble with another thing in her bag, Parrot lets his weight pull him forward and Wato is barely able to react fast enough to wrap her arms around him. Parrot shudders, but then the arms give a small squeeze around his shivering form and he buries his face in Wato‘s shoulder, eyes closing and shutting the world out of his mind. His hands grab at whatever he can feel, tugging at the armour straps and suit he could barely get a proper grasp on. Parrot feels Wato gasp more than he hears it, and only then does he realise why his face suddenly feels so wet.
Parrot is crying.
For a moment Parrot wants to back off, apologise and run, fly far away and pretend this never happened but before he can even act on his instincts, a hand rests on the back of his neck to keep him right there.
And Parrot feels his own emotions spill, clinging to the warmth that Wato is right now. His hands hold on tight, letting his body tremble and violently shake as he muffles his own sobbing as best as he can.
"Hey," another whisper chimes in and a hand presses against his back. Parrot swallows down one of his sobs in favour of turning his head a little so he could look up and oh, oh, Wifies‘ eyes meet his and the familiar pain that is reflected in them makes him want to disappear.
Parrot doesn‘t even try to verbally respond. Wifies takes this as a sign to move closer, pulling him and Wato into a tight embrace. There‘s some shared words between Kenadian, Wato and Wifies but Parrot doesn‘t bother in paying attention to that, opting to bury his face back against Wato‘s shoulder. He does however hear and feel the purring that settles somewhere against his back, engulfing him in a veil of comfort as another pair of arms wraps around the group.
They should be getting out of here, they shouldn‘t be standing here and wasting time and yet this was all Parrot wanted. He wanted this, he needed this and maybe he could be a little selfish for even a few minutes.
