people arguing over fanon vs. canon batfam is so funny considering the comics wouldnt know character consistency if it hit them over the head with a steel bat
Sure, he’s had an awareness of the boy’s existence for a while, but Lucius has an awareness of most things that happen in Gotham. That doesn’t mean that he needs to look into all of them.
Now Tim Drake is stood in Lucius’ office on slide thirty-two of a powerpoint on all the things Wayne Enterprises should be doing to improve their profit margins. Lucius takes a moment to regret not looking into Tim Drake.
How old is the boy? Ten? The suit makes him look adorable and tiny, the seriousness with which he discusses the company only heightens the effect. It all contrasts rather awfully with the hard logic coming out of the boys mouth and Lucius would consider putting his head in his hands if that wouldn’t mean missing some of the show.
His mind flashes to all of Tam’s pleas for a little brother and he wonders for a moment how much Jack and Janet Drake would miss their tiny genius.
“You’re not paying attention.” Tim snaps with a severity that he must have learned from Janet.
Lucius leans forward and makes sure he looks properly chastened because, really, he could have missed some good points.
“My apologies, please proceed.”
Tim gives a curt nod and launches into slide thirty-three.
I am heinously picky when it comes to fanfic, so for those of ya’ll hungry for badger cereal and in need of good fics: COME GET YA’LL’S FOOD.
1. (we are) the fault line by @iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid . This is my number one favorite dp fic of all time, tho… it’s not technically badger cereal? Danny’s only in the fic for like, 2 seconds, but it’s still got parental/protective Vlad and found family, and it’s flawless so I’m including it anyway. A basic summary is: Sam, Tucker, Dani, and Valerie team up with Vlad to rescue Danny from the government. Road trip fic featuring angst, hurt/comfort, buckets of found family, and incredible humor. Word count: 46k
2. How to Mentor a Troubled Ghost Child by @ectopal (and its sequel oneshot). This is my second favorite dp fic of all time, and it’s an actual proper badger cereal fic lol. Quick summary: Vlad has a mini-crisis and starts to work on getting his life together, starting with how he treats Danny. Enemies to friends to mentor/mentee, hurt/comfort, EXTREMELY FLUFFY AND WHOLESOME. Word count: 23k
3. Humans and Ghosts by RedGhost1010. I think this was one of the first dp fics I ever read. Not centrally focused on badger cereal, but it comes into play in the last one or two chapters, and I at least was surprised and delighted by it. Quick summary: Danny’s life is basically just falling apart, largely because Jack and Maddie aren’t the best parents. Angst warning, Danny whump, lots of Good Sister Jazz, protective Vlad at the end. Word count: 26k
4. Overshadowed by @whereonceiwasfire . This fic’s a commitment but it was a super cool read; the fight scenes were awesome and I was vibing so hard with the badger cereal. Basic summary: College-age Danny is having a rough time and it just gets worse when a certain enemy- heck, you could even say his ultimate enemy- comes back for a rematch. Fic is 95% heavy angst, some crumbs of h/c, heavy focus on badger cereal, character death and it might not be who you expect, epic anime-style fights, not sure if you’d call it a satisfying ending but it’s an ending. Word count: 142k
5. Untethered by @life-jim-but-not-as-we-know-it (”draculard” on AO3). This is a brand new badger cereal fic that was posted only a week or two ago, so only the first chapter is out, but that so far is excellent. the Official Summary for the fic: There was a dead boy on Vlad Masters’ doorstep. So far featuring angst, hurt/comfort, big Danny!whump and protective!Vlad. Current word count: 486 words
6. Conspiracy by @elowenp . Super cute oneshot! Vlad’s not actually in it, but it’s still about badger cereal. Quick summary: Jazz (and friends) are trying to convince Danny to stay with Vlad since his parents are constantly trying to kill his alter ego. Humor and fluff. Word count: 1.5K
7. Still Better Than Google Translate by Hollyflash. I legitimately laughed out loud reading this one. Basic summary: Danny reluctantly asks Vlad to teach him Russian. This isn’t an overly spectacular idea, and it almost immediately dives off the rails. Humor/comedy, Vlad’s suffering is hilarious. Word count: 2k
I probably have more in my ao3 bookmarks that I’ve forgotten, and I’ve got a bunch of potentially good fics I’ve saved for later that I haven’t read yet, so if I find any more good ones I can reblog this or make a second post with them! :)
Not in any special sense, merely in the way that anywhere you live becomes a little smaller for every year you spend there. The feeling makes him paranoid, it makes him feel too easy to find.
It’s an odd thought considering that there’s no one looking for him. That there’s no one to look for him. He doesn’t really have any friends and any relatives beside his grandmother are long gone. The only person concerned with Jon’s life is himself.
That isn’t quite right though.
There are people, sometimes. A woman with her hair pulled back into a severe bun who looks at Jon like she’s considering the best way to dump his body. Another woman, similar age, who’s covered in tattoos and smiles at him with too-sharp teeth. A portly man with blond hair and glasses just like Jon’s who stares at him like he’s a laboratory experiment rather than a person.
Jon finds the man particularly distasteful. The feeling his gaze elicits is primal and angry and vengeful in a way Jon doesn’t particularly understand the origins of but grips tight nonetheless.
“You should stop looking at me,” he tells the first woman one day when she has a book in her hands and keeps looking up from it as if to see what effect the thing is having on Jon.
“Why?” she asks incredulously, the word sounding like it’s said more as a reaction to his statement than a true question.
Jon turns his gaze upon her.
“I might start looking back.”
He says it like a threat even if he isn’t entirely sure why. The woman must take it as such because she arches an eyebrow and looks at him less like she’s planning how to kill him and more like she’s wondering if she actually can.
Jon leaves quickly. The words hadn’t felt like his own and he’s left suddenly unsure and self conscious. He tries to focus on the knowledge that’s been keeping him going through the last few months of Bournemouth suffocating him to drown out the unease. The offer is printed on a sheet of paper bluetacked to his wall and Jon feels his feet steering him home just so that he can stare at it until he feels like he can breathe.
It’s odd. He had never doubted that he would go to university, academia had always been where Jon pictured himself most comfortable. That had been until he received the email and was forced to spend a week in crisis over whether this might finally be his opportunity to actually know what happened that day with Mister Spider.
Jon takes a deep breath. Two months until he starts as a research assistant at the Magnus Institute, London.
Maybe then he’ll be able to get away from all these eyes.

I love this entire sequence so much, WFA Bruce is everything to me. His children are always his number one priority in this series no matter what. He immediately forgot about Scarecrow to go make sure Tim was okay and give his breather to him.
his swagless looks and cringe fail personality have captivated me
So I enjoyed the batman a normal amount
Who ran your childhood alignment chart edition
I almost forgot about what a legend Derek Landy is and had to make the second one.
