Can y’all imagine the pressure Luz is under back in the human world? Like, there’s no magical threat or anything but she’s the kid to an immigrant mother and unless you’re in the situation yourself, I don’t think most people understand what it’s like.

You can’t mess up because then it reflects badly on your parents and how can you disrespect the very people who upheaved their whole lives to move away from their home and families to give their kids opportunities they never had.

Luz and Camilia only have each other.

And Camilia looks tired. Not of Luz, but just in general. This woman has to be mother, father, friend, etc on top of being a nurse. She’s in caretaker mode non-stop.

Luz is smart. She is capable of so much and I’m sure her mom knows that. Yet there’s a disconnect between mother and child. Camilia loves Luz, but I’m not sure she understands her all too well. Camilia has a demanding job that I’m sure keeps her away from Luz a lot, unlike Eda who kind of makes her own schedule and hangs out with Luz 90% of the time. Also, Luz and Eda just get each other. They’re two weirdos who don’t fit into society’s mold of what a normal citizen should be or do or look like.

I’m not saying Camilia is a perfect mom and that her decisions haven’t hurt Luz, because she’s not and they have. What I’m trying to say I guess, is that she’s trying her best.

Anyways this is all I'm gonna say on the matter, but as a POC viewer of She Ra, Noelle Stevenson shouldn't be cancelled.

Yes, she fucked up. Yes, she made a racist comment. But I am 99% sure all you white folks preaching that she's problematic have done a similar thing. It makes you flawed. Not problematic.

Noelle is an ally. She fucked up, yes, and she now understands why that's not okay. But by canceling creators for making mistakes like THIS rather than giving them room to grow you're:

1. Teaching creators to never own up to their flaws thus depriving them of growth out of fear of being cancelled

2. ENCOURAGING WHITE CREATORS TO INCLUDE NO RACIAL DIVERSITY IN THEIR WORKS SINCE DOING SO PUTS THEM AT RISK OF BEING CANCELLED

If you're POC speaking out on this, go off. Call Noelle out. Be pissed. But if you're one of the white folks PLEASE stfu holy shit. We can handle this. We can speak for ourselves. She knows what she did wrong and intends to fix it.

White people your job is to listen and amplify black voices. Not talk over them. Do better.

SHE THREW A CHILD OFF A BRIDGE PEOPLE. If Eda hadn’t used her last bit of magic to save her, Luz wouldve been shishkabobed.

Do I think she loves her sister and regrets cursing her? absolutely. Do I think she should be forgiven immediately? Of course not, she’s gonna have to work her butt off for that redemption dude.

Something about the owl house I love is that they’re constantly talking about how Eda is the strongest witch ever, but she always uses so little of her powers that you kinda forget about it. Until she finally just unleashes all her fury on Lilith and it’s fucking incredible. And thats her at her WEAKEST? damn 👀
