considering i just reblogged a post saying i talk about mythology, figure now might be a good time to talk some more about my campaign.
character of the day: parthenia.
she’s a devout worshiper of zeus, specifically of the epithet of zeus xenios. she runs a sort of boarding and bathhouse for travellers passing through called the golden oak. if you know zeus’ symbols, you’ll understand.
so far i have her described as the human embodiment of a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. i considered giving her a child with zeus, but she has far too much respect for hera to accept his advances.
normally i know this would not stop zeus. in this case, i don’t want it as part of my campaign.
so she’s favored by hera and is generally just a lovely person.
Do u have less known mythology blogs we could follow ?
Hmmmmm not really
If i do they're mostly pjo
ALL MYTHOLOGY BLOGS REBLOG THIS. I'MMA GET U SOME FOLLOWERSSS
time for me to talk more about my campaign!
so, this is like an urban fantasy sort of deal.
my players so far are a siren who won’t sing, a living statue, and a pigeon harpy.
one of my absolute favorite npcs is a harpy shop npc. actually two of my favorites are harpies.
they’re both seagull harpies, absolute gremlins.
if any of you remember that seagull covered in curry? yeah, he’s a harpy living under a picnic table in the park. you give him food, he gives you random items of varying usefulness.
and then there’s kallisto. she’s a random encounter, will ask for food and then just kind run off. she doesn’t give you anything for a while. then, eventually, she starts giving you little magic items. these generally act as separate random encounters.
oh, and her name means most beautiful. she is not conventionally that. she’s just a scrappy little seagull that steals your fries and screams at random moments out of boredom.
so yeah, i love her.
yeah, midnight d&d post.
my tired brain decided now was a good time to mention that one of my shops for my new campaign is called the crow bar.
it is a bar.
for crows.
it is not a bar for people.
for people, it is basically like a repairs shop, but the lady who runs it also basically looks after a whole murder of crows.
also she’s cool and has a mechanical hand and is probably a lesbian.
because i’m thinking of him now, y’all get to know about my bastard of a character.
so, i made him with no class in mind, he ended up as a bard because he seemed the type.
he is a bard only because he would not be any other class,
fighter, monk, or barbarian? not too keen on fighting, really warlock, paladin, or cleric? bold of you to assume this man has anything but scorn for the gods druid? no respect for nature ranger? he’s not a coward wizard? not a nerd rogue? see ranger sorcerer? maybe but he’s just not the type
so this mans, this bastard, he’s a bard. he’s a bard with the noble background.
now, a lot of folks would ask “hey, pidge, what’s this dude’s backstory? there’s gotta be something juicy in there, right?”
well, usually they’d be right.
not with oliver.
no, his backstory is that he was born into a really rich family, was the only child and got spoiled beyond belief, spent much of his young adulthood drinking and smoking and sleeping with pretty much anyone he deemed beautiful enough. the biggest tragedy of his life was when his body started failing and he started replacing bits and pieces. eventually he decided to just go full skeleton because he was being held together by magic anyway and wanted to show the world how clever he was to evade death.
but pidge, hasn’t he ever been in love? what about his parents? surely he has some sort of depth!
nope. he hasn’t really been in love (i don’t think, i’m giving him a little extra something for this next campaign because my character secret for the last one was revealed at the end) and he wasn’t too distraught when his parents passed because he’s a bastard who cares only about himself. he doesn’t have any real compassion for others, he only helps out of boredom, and is a terrible narcissist. he has one personality trait and that is bastard.
if you wanna know more about my bastard rat man, or any other character i’ve made, please shoot me an ask or a message. i love talking about my idiot children.
so i have this group, right, we play dnd every sunday and take turns dming. so our current campaign is going great, i have two characters on deck to choose from for our next one and then someone pipes up saying they have an idea for the next campaign. this campaign sounds bangin, no issue there.
however
this campaign involves a character they have sent me art of, a character they had said would get along great with my pc from their last campaign. so, here i am, looking at my elf warlock and my daemonfae warlock/bard, and coming to the realization they might just have to wait. oliver beckons me back.
for context, oliver is a skeleton bard with the noble background, he’s a cocky bastard with no regard for anyone but himself, he thinks he’s better than everyone and flirts with anyone, he’s super rich and thinks he’s more important than he really is, also he seduced the leader of the gang we were supposed to face off against at the end of the campaign and gave him his number. so yeah. guess my sexy skeleton is back.
howdy, folks! i’m pidge, but you can also call me puck! i’m a casual gamer mostly focussed on minecraft builds and dungeons and dragons. i love to talk about my characters and their backstories, so asks are encouraged! beyond that, i’m just a poly/bi/ace nb who likes to scream into the void and practice witchcraft.
