You look like a couple of asshats in those ridiculous costumes.

I’m so glad they made Gus smart. I’m so glad they made Gus a teammate that speaks his mind and rolls his eyes at the “wacky but cool and always right” protagonist. I’m so glad that he’s a real person who has a life and a job and his own skillsets that rival yet complement Shawn’s. Shawn is fun and makes sure he’s the focal point of the show but I really think the show would be empty without Gus.

If Psych only followed Shawn I’m convinced I would find him irritating and, at times, unwatchable. But there’s something about Gus being there and being exasperated and yet backing Shawn up and correcting him when he’s wrong and Shawn actually listening that makes them. the best duo.

#psych in a nutshell

Nobody committed to the bit harder then Shawn Spencer. The fact that he could've just come out and told them about his photographic memory and deduction skills on the second day and they probs would've still hired him and taken him much more seriously, but the dumbass bi man chose to continue to pretend to be a psychic FOR 8 WHOLE YEARS is genuinely insane behavior. And don't even get me started on Gus keeping his besties secret for that long, he a real ride or die.
