I just think Shawn and Gus are really neat. Two pretty best friends that embody what it means to be ride or die.
Gus needs help covering up his presence at a crime scene? Shawn is right beside him making an even worse mess of it.
Gus is taken hostage during a bank robbery? Shawn has somehow found his way into the bank and gets them out.
Shawn needs a distraction while he’s solving the Yang case? Gus is in the room impersonating Michael Jackson.
Shawn is kidnapped and shot? Gus is joining the search for him. And when he tells Shawn not to jump on the blueberry? Shawn abides and finds another way off the runaway truck.
They’re the blueprint for codependent best friends. They wrote the book on it and will literally follow each other to the ends of the earth.
I want to implant Shawn and Gus into every media I watch they just have that immense power to seamlessly fit in and inevitably elevate whatever is going on. it literally wouldn't matter it could be a post-apocalyptic wasteland and Shawn would still show up at the survivor camp wearing shades drinking from a pineapple like "wow this place is sadder than Gus's dating life in high school" and Gus would be all "the water here isn't even being boiled properly Shawn. I'm not staying at this camp I will not be getting dysentery I'm already fighting my sciatica flare-up" and all the people at the camp would be like "what the actual fuck" as Shawn and Gus walk off bickering into the distance and disappear

shawn spencer is genuinely so insanely smart that he could be an evil millionaire. he could win any poker game he joins. he could infiltrate (and destroy) world governments. he could be successful at almost any job he put 1% effort into. he could be in/famous and destructive. instead he runs around santa barbara california pretending to be psychic with his life partner gus solving crimes and creating minor chaos and I love that for him
