oh to live in a world where the worst thing that ever happened to carpenter was a scraped knee :( notes and closeups below the cut!!!
part of the concept of this painting was that it's one of carpenter's memories, so em is painted with warmer tones in his hair and she is painted with cooler tones, because she remembers him as a comfort. he also looks much older than he would have been at the time of the memory, again because of the warping of memory

of the 3 paintovers ive done so far, this is the one ive changed the most. patch notes include: mallory's face has been completely rejigged, the angle of her foot has been changed, the angle of em's wrist has been fixed, and both of them have had their proportions shifted to look younger
