A Friend Of Mine (@squiggl3) Sent Me A Video (check The Comments For It) And Then I Spent The Night Making

Finished all "references" for the anthro Scugs/Rhythm of Falls AU since it has a name now. Also - they come with a full list of names and pronouns because I got attached to my headcanons. You can find all content related to the AU under #rwrof au tag.

Taking on the common approach of pinching the timeline so they all can meet and interact with each other during their lifetimes, moreover - some of the scugs get familiar bonds that weren't in game (guess who based on my shipping preferences and design traits)(hard /j)

I plan to post a family tree soon enough + I have *some* ideas floating around in my head about them all and possible canon timeline for this AU but it's still very unstable and rough. If you have any questions/drawing requests for those guys, feel free to send them my way! It'd be super cool to dwell on this AU more and would serve as a huge motivation kick.

I always somehow imagined anthropomorphized Rivulet as a very gnc guy and it stuck to me + the moustache is one of my favourite design decisions from the whole lineup.

Couldn't bring myself to separate Upturned and Fallen so now we're going in groups of threes

Also, just noticed that Enot's/Upturned's full name got messed up in the process (fitting) - the full is "Crack of Shells, Nine Colors Upturned"!

Monk/Shine is still the younger sibling, but this time - not the smaller one! I really wanted to imagine him as a "gentle giant" sort of deal.

+ he matches with his sibling when it comes to the zebra pattern sleeve.

As a mortal they had a tendency to second-guess the things around them, especially in terms of safety, and often took action to get rid of the possible risks. The Grove became much safer thanks to them, shaky infrastructure was fixed, fences were put up around dangerous areas, etc. That's what led to them being elected as the new god. However, after ascending they felt like they were under an obligation to detect any & all possible risks before they resulted in something bad, and the pressure stressed them out so much that their usual caution and tendency to notice threats early turned into overthinking and paranoia. They became so afraid of everything and didn't know what to tackle first that the aspect of taking action against these dangers got pushed into the background.

In a hypothetical chapter with them, Godpoke would have to deal with a lot of obstacles put up for "safety" and would have to find a way to remind them that they can't prevent every disaster, but must do their best and just stressing out about every possibility under the sun isn't as helpful as actually helping with even one thing.

A squirm of scugs

I did not get half as many scugs to draw than i had anticipated, and people had to wait an aweful long time, so I decided not to draw rthem in the simple rainworld style and instead draw them in more detail with my personal touch! This being said, I hope I caught them all (slippery things) Enjoy!

Starting with Collector from @potassium-guy I feel the urge to play monopoly with them. I also have a feeling that I would loose

second in line is this wormgras bean from @yullzor I get the same urge I have when looking at seaanemones. I want to run my fingers through the tendrils but I dont think that would be a healthy idea XD

next is The Ender, by @kirpichq And its where I have to apologize! I was so hyperfocussed on getting the beautyful scars right, that I missed the tailend tassles. Im so sorry TT_TT I see that now that I uploaded it aaaa

I am thankful to @malaikaesc for submitting Tallyscug. Not only because it gave me an excuse to listen to Tally Hall, but also because it helped me get back into the scug drawing mood.

The Parade (Full name being Constant Parades of Aid) by @fishyaudio was a lot of fun to draw! The flowyness and dynamic just really flew with me

Evilgaysoda on bluesky submitted vulturescug. And since I did not have that many submissions, I decided to draw their partner too. Just look how adorable they are! Vulturescugs colorsheme is so soothing!

Bombardier and Crafter are both by @apple-eating-goat I saw them and I heard squirrelnoises. Just please dont drop that grenade!

Next are Simulacrum by @baltdev and Nonpareil by @nyuufruit who just worked so well with each other, coming to a similar idea from two completely opposing directions! "Are you scug?" "its complicated"
