he probably went to go fuck with gran
so the thing about my family is that we have two ancestors on my dad’s side who were buried in france, where I currently live. one died in the spanish civil war, and one died prior doing…we don’t know what. but he somehow managed to get buried in père lachaise.
so anyhow, my gran sends me a message like “pls put flowers on ur uncle samuel’s grave because he’s gone over a century with none and it will make the ghost mad if he hasn’t already” because my family spends time in europe but never long enough to go all the way to père lachaise and give ya boy samuel jr. his death rites. so im like “ok gran I can do that” bc im a good grandson and you do not fuck with gran she doesn’t DESERVE THAT
i figure out which plot he’s on and ask someone specifically where you can find uncle samuel jr. and they tell me where and so I arrive at the junction and.
HE GONE.
WHERE DID YOU GO UNCLE SAMUEL.
*celine dion’s smash hit “my heart will go on” playing in the distance*
in other words either someone stole my entire great great uncle samuel or he has risen again, ready to party in paris for all of eternity.
this brings me back to that one time i started a polytheistic cult and one of the gods was an eldridch monstrosity of rats that would hunt down homophobes and give them diseases. Good Times!

Anyone wanna here me info dump about the fictional city I'm worldbuilding?
this would be great for a tea party!
Hello Tumblr, I haven’t posted anything here in quite some time, what with a new job and other various life events I simply have not had the energy to be posting regularly.
I have a large post concerning the nature and role of Gender and Identity in the Green Sea in the works, if you would like to see my previous post concerning sexuality and queerness, click here.
For now here is a recipe from the world of my WIP, The Testaments of the Green Sea.
Kipsha is a kind of cake or biscuit commonly eaten by the wealthy and poor alike. Kipsha is a popular form of street food and can be served as savory or sweet. All Kipshas contain barley, however those of the wealthy may contain up to 50% wheat, giving the cake a lighter texture.
This recipe is for Labisaji Sweet Kipsha, as would have been eaten at the city’s many festivals, typically at a stand or shop. This happens to be the favorite food of my MC Narul.
Note: For those ingredients which are not available on earth, approximate substitutes are provided.
The Cakes
2 ¾ cups Barley Flour (Optionally 1 ¼ Unbleached Wheat Flour may be used in substitution of an equivalent amount of barley)
½ cup Water
1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Untoasted Sesame Oil
1 Tbsp Sweet White Wine (Riesling or Muscat are suggested)
2 Tbsp Kava (This Kishic yogurt drink can be substituted with equal parts plain greek yogurt and whole milk)
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
1 ½ Tsp Untoasted White Sesame Seeds
½ Tsp Sinrian Cinnamon (Substitute Cassia Cinnamon)
¼ Tsp Ground Black Pepper
½ Tsp Poppy Seeds (Optional, traditionally only added during Spring Festivals)
Toppings
1. Narul’s Preferred Toppings
1-2 Dried figs chopped (Fresh figs may be substituted)
2 Tbsp Honey, warmed
1 Tbsp Rejir Juice (Substitute 2:1 parts orange and lemon juice)
Ground pepper to taste
2. Other Toppings
Unsalted soft cheese such as ricotta
Yogurt
Dates
Crushed nuts (typically walnuts or pistachios)
Chopped Cherries or other fruits
Preparation
1. Combine all dry ingredients.
2. In a different bowl combine all liquid ingredients and whisk thoroughly.
3. Fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, using your hands to form a firm ball, add water and flour as needed to achieve this.
4. Cover the dough with a damp towel and allow it to rest at room temperature for a minimum of 2 hours and maximum of 4.
5. Preheat oven to 400 F or 200 C.
6. Liberally dust a counter or large cutting board with barley flour. Dust a rolling pin or similar instrument with flour.
7. Place the rested dough onto the floured surface and roll out to approximately ½ inch (Note: At no time should the dough be kneaded, take care when rolling to avoid tearing the dough)
8. Using a biscuit cutter or knife, cut dough into rectangular cakes roughly the same shape and size of a graham cracker.
9. Place cakes on a parchment covered cookie sheet making sure that they do not touch.
10. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden.
11. Remove and cool, 10-15 minutes.
12. Once cool, drizzle warmed honey over cakes and add any additional toppings.
13. Enjoy!
just a random question
I know that people do open species, I was wondering if I could do that but for an entire world? because I realize that I'd have much more fun worldbuilding than writing, and I'd like to share my work with people because I'm really proud of it.
this is adorable, so I'm gonna try to resize it for my chromebook

MORE WORLDBUILDING, this time on a holiday that i came up with
Diviti week- TLDR: celebrates Merudi as the patron god of the Ojalana empire, but isn’t celebrated outside of it.
Diviti Week is a well-known holiday sponsored by the Ojalana Empire, though it is not widely celebrated outside of it. It takes place from Merudi 1st to Merudi 7th. The holiday is a celebration of the god of wealth Merudi, and is marked by a life of affluence. People show off their wealth, sales boom, profits are made, and debts are paid off. People wear their best clothes and host parties and feasts in celebration.
While this may seem like a holiday that only the wealthy and powerful enjoy, the lower classes are still in full support of the holiday. Local merchants consistently lower their prices during this week, especially at the end. The holiday attracts no small number of tourists that flock to the capital to partake in the festivities and watch the city become more beautiful than anything they have ever seen. Every street is hung with string lights that can best be described as icicles of pure gold that reach down to touch the heads of the pedestrians on the streets. There are ropes of braided silk draped in every alley, lighting the stony streets on fire. Exotic flowers are shipped from faraway lands and placed in the central plaza of Jackal Quartz, where one of the centerpieces of Diviti Week is held.
On the 4th-6th day of Diviti Week a massive 24 hour market is held, featuring everyone from farmers to furniture makers, menageries of all kinds, and spectacular dressmakers. Merchants of all kinds flood to Jackal Quartz during this week to sell their wares, most of them coming from Kelly's Caravan that makes its second arrival at this time, the other time being the 1st of Grecis.
The second centerpiece of Diviti Week is the massive palace ball, called the golden ball, that is held on the last night of Diviti Week. It is held in the grand hall of the Palace, and it is completely public. Everyone, from the nobility to the commoners walk in through the massive doors of the palace to behold splendor beyond imagination. The roof is hung with gold and silver candles suspended by chains that fit perfectly into the space not taken up by the second floor balcony. The sconces that are drilled into the Carmine Red walls are hung with garlands of resplendent diamonds and topaz. The intricate swirls on the banister are interwoven with roses, lilies, tulips and snapdragons in every imaginable shade of orange and yellow. The marble tile of the floor is polished to a shine that reflects the feet and clothes of the various dancers
I want to taste these, they sound delicuous
