friendship is so crazy they literally invented people who are niceys to you....and you get to love and care for them........
you matter so much! you have significantly more of a positive impact on the world than you know. with how big and busy it is, it can be easy to feel insignificant or irrelevant. but youâre not! think of all of the years youâve been alive and interacting with your surroundings. all the people youâve met and passed, all the animals youâve pet, every tiny act of good youâve committed. holding a door for someone, picking up a piece of trash off the side of a road, complimenting someone on their hair or outfit. youâve kept plants alive and influenced someone into experiencing a new media that they turned out to love. youâve made some poor retail workerâs day with your patience and empathy, boosted a strangerâs low confidence, stripped away even just a twinge of anxiety from a fretting friend. every little thing youâve done for people has had some effect. and if you werenât here, it wouldnât have happened. heaps of people are grateful for your existence, you matter so much!
idk I just personally think that getting chills from music is the best part of being alive. like when a song is so good you can feel it in your whole body. thatâs why Iâm here.
Conservatives yap and yap all the time about how kids donât understand âwokeâ culture, but today the school age kids at the daycare had a field trip to a park and saw a really weird swing, and one immediately said âthatâs for people with disabilities.â And the others were like, âOh, people with disabilities, yeah that makes sense.â Like, the whole, clunky, politically correct phrase. These are kids who spend most of their time on tablets and donât like using five words when three words would do, and they said that phrase like it was natural to them.
Sometimes my kids will be making up characters and write pronouns on their pages. One day a girl turned to me and said âThis character is they/them.â They donât think of it as a foreign concept - different genders are just as new a concept to them as all the other stuff theyâre learning at this age, and like all that stuff, they regard it not as something to fight about, but just another facet of the world to learn, understand, and incorporate into the stories they create.
The kids handle learning these things just fine. Itâs the adults who are moaning pissbabies about it.
