While I was looking at hopepunk/solarpunk stuff I found https://fallingfruit.org/ and I am SO excited because last year I found a "hey what's this and is it edible" and it turned out to be wild american plum and it TURNS OUT there are several on a university campus near me. I've lost the post I found it in or I'd just reblog that, but, here's this post at least. A lot of markings for things like "this tree is on private property but hangs onto public land" or "tree is on public property" or "this location uploaded by property owner," when things are ripe, notes about the fruit being really up high or whatever. (obviously ymmv, maybe your local fruit-sharers are not as helpful.) There are no markings in my immediate town, but I'll change that. "My" plum tree, black raspberries, mulberries... what gets me about every instance of clubbing/partying discourse on here is the Jughead complex people bring to it. Oh I'm weird I'm a weirdo of course I've never been to a party or the club only cool normal people have access to those things. Which is just completely false the biggest freaks I know are partying harder than anyone you just have to pluck up the courage to go the first time and then you'll see there's nothing special about these spaces and nobody at a party when you're an adult is going to care if you're socially awkward

I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later. when i was very young, i used to have boundless energy. i could throw myself wholly into something and have something to show for it--work tirelessly to make something out of it.

this is no longer the case.

my illness has taken yet more from me. i'm not dying--i don't think so. but i have been ill for longer than i intended, and there are yet more parts of me become metal.

where before, i had smooth, human skin running up the full length of my back, i now have thick metal cable for a spine, creeping its way into my ribs. my eyes--already damaged, already mechanical--have begun to glow, faintly, behind my eyelids. my voice is harsh in a way it was not. my arms are heavy with leaden bones.

i'm sorry for having been gone. i have not gone into the road. jonathan is with julian for the weekend, and i will not see either of them until next week.

i am going to cook something that will make me happy, tomorrow. i don't know what, but i need to begin to heal. i have been so, so tired. my body has become so heavy.

i'm going to post a photo post later of everything i feel is worth sharing. i bought some new sweaters, but i don't want to reveal my body.
