you know why i love axl? he's real. even though he hasn't made the best decisions, guess what? that's life. humans are meant to carry more and more baggage from our mistakes. that's how personal growth happens. axl never hid his bad qualities. in our society, there's so much pressure to correct our flaws and keep them hidden, but that's going against our nature and that just creates more problems in our communication with each other. we expect too much perfection from each other then ignorantly wonder why we're never satisfied. axl's so forward. pretty much every interview i've ever read or seen with him, they addressed a mistake he made and he faced with, "yep, i did/said that and i shouldn't have and it is what it is. i am who i am." that's rare for someone, especially someone born in his generation to have that level of self-awareness and acceptance. people can choose what they deem forgivable and what isn't, but he at least deserves credit for keeping it real.
