WANNA GET READY FOR "THE MIKU MOVIE"? Here is a basic guide to the main cast that isn't Vocaloid:
(haven't seen the movie yet but this should be helpful)
i think a lot about how toya believes there's rabbits on the moon as well as believing that if he sleeps with a plush toy he'll have wonderful dreams
he's very pure hearted in that sense. (hence people calling him 純粋) and i think that makes him a very kind and thoughtful person who loves all the little things in this world; he also keeps all of these memories in his head and brings them up from time to time because it is what makes him happy and proud of himself — like the time he cut the pepper, it was such an achievement for toya he became really excited. if you place the cutting board in mysekai he talks about his memories and offers help if you need it
his innocence also extends to inanimate objects sometimes. for example, that one time he got really worried about the plush toy's feelings when he had to stuff it inside a locker; the time he wanted the giant pochacco nui to come home with him, him talking to the toy and other things like him choosing the panda in cgo because he liked it.
and so he puts in so much consideration when it comes to gifts, because of his empathy for inanimate objects. he wants the things he catches and gifts to go into a loving home to people who will cherish them ie. the plush toys he caught for souma because they matched arata and souma well, him considering all the things that saki and tsukasa would like when he was thinking about what sweets to make. i think that he pours in all that care and consideration because he would feel sad, and probably feels that the object would be sad too, if it didn't suit the person. that consideration is also shown in the above 4koma (that was dedicated to utsuro's event), with the level of detail he puts into the snacks he brought.
i think that sort of empathy also partially stems from him placing such high value on objects and people that mean a lot to him since he was young — in some way, the objects in your life make who you are. this is shown very well in his fes story as the very first thing he was worried about was the state of the two instruments he loves dearly. that care for the objects in your life was in him since he was young. his kindness also means he wants to share that feeling of importance objects have in his life to others' lives. if you think about it that way i like to think that he gives plush toys to people simply in hopes that it makes both the object and the person receiving the object (that had lots of care put into, that care being toya's consideration for what people like) happy. i think that's all that matters to him.
i find it very cute, and also because i do the same to his own merch lol
NO BECAUSE SOUMA IS GENUINELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES EVER. Like even more than many of the MAIN CHARACTERS 😭😭😭 no look I need to yap about this—
I saw someone on Reddit say that he was a “worse saki” and I’m just like…. How… could you be so wrong???? I was so happy about how much souma content we got in walk on and on because his dynamic with Toya was really sweet and his character is so compelling!!! Are you kidding me?? A kid who was so passionate about music, who’d practice with his best friend until he hurt his voice to chase after something he really loved— his love for music brought him and arata together— just for that suddenly to be taken away from him with no warning or reason or explanation! And he is left to pick up the pieces. Trying to be strong for his family and for his best friend, trying to keep smiling and carrying on. But deep inside, he’s afraid that without his ability to sing, he won’t be able to keep up with arata anymore. That he can’t contribute to their team or their passion, that he can’t even write a song without his partner. He waits in the hospital and listens to arata tell him about the new friends he’s making, the steps he’s taking to get closer to what used to be their dream, and he keeps smiling. Keeps encouraging his friend to chase his dream— because it’s only his dream now, right?— keeps complimenting and showing genuine admiration for the new friends he’s making— even if it feels like he’s being replaced— keeps telling him not to worry. But you always see this quiet sadness evident in every word. This somber defeat in the way he talks about his dream and his friendship and Gurney Flap. There is so much to be explored in Souma. Genuinely I think he is one of the strongest, sweetest, and most amazing characters in the game and he and Toya have so much to learn from each other and I want MORE Souma!! Npcs don’t need to exist to play their part and then get out of the way, I love hearing about their aspirations and their personalities and their lives!! Complex side characters make for a better story!
defending misunderstood PJSK side characters isn't enough i need to draw them
SHUT UP

IM SO JEALOUS SHE MADE ME SPARK. IM BROKE NOW
I also had the luckiest pull in the history of humanity today, so that's something.
I really wanted Kanade's spojoy park card (one of the favourite cards in the entire game), but was left with only around 10 pulls after the Pandemonium fiasco with no way to get to the spark in time...
And she went ahead and came home from the first roll.
I love you too girl.
Toya has acrophobia. In an “interview” with PASH! Magazine, he stated that he doesn’t quite remember what triggered it. Apparently, one day he suddenly thought of what would happen if he fell from a height, and has been scared ever since.
I wish people would do more realistic looks at Ena & Akito’s sibling dynamic, because they really are interesting and I think people forget how important they are to each other . Akito would be devastated if anything happened to Ena, and Ena would walk to the ends of the earth for her brother.
I think the fact they don’t openly show affection toward one another makes people assume they despise each other. Though you can read between the lines and see how much they care, and I wish the fandom would do that more.

kanade penguin attack !!!!!!!!
Ykw I’m feeling inspired it’s time for a yap session. Who wants to hear my opinions on akitoya? :)
You know… people seriously underutilize how much Toya rags on Akito. The fandom never acknowledges it because Akito is the mean one and Toya is the nice one but in all the stories and interactions they’ve ever had (bc I’ve read all of them) Akito has not said anything even slightly rude to Toya, and Toya is consistently like—
Which is much more peak dynamic if you ask me.
I like to imagine the first time he made a comment like that and Akito stared at him for several seconds like (I didn’t know he was capable of jokes…) and Toya was like (oh shit I messed up he’s gonna get mad at me maybe I should apologize..) and then Akito just laughs about it and that is the beginning of the bromance
Both of them put on a certain amount of facade when interacting with most people, like most people do. For Akito, that’s his ‘tough guy’ standoffish and combative persona, and for Toya it’s his stiff, formal politeness. So naturally, it would follow that with the person they feel most comfortable around, this vanishes. During the first wedding event, when Akito met Rui he immediately put up a front and decided to dislike him. But the second Toya asked him, he caved and agreed to help. If you looked in his brain while he’s talking to toya at any one moment it would just be like
Akito’s vulnerability is letting himself be sweet and sentimental. It’s the genuine smile he only wears when he’s looking at toya or at his sister. It’s ruffling his hair after doing well in an event and complimenting him the way he only does for his teammates. And for Toya, it’s being able to joke around and mess with his best friend without worrying about getting in trouble. Their affection for each other is mimicking the parts of the other’s personality that they find most endearing and I think that’s beautiful
Another example of this fandom attitude that I’ve noticed is stuff like this meme: (no hate to the creator obv.)
Let’s be fr… we know what Akito is like, right? This is the guy who beat a band that bullied him in middle school in a singing battle and then immediately berated himself for daring to be even a little bit proud about it. This is the guy who heard that he wasn’t the most committed to soccer in the entire world and decided to quit. Do you think his thought process would be so simple as to just be happy after kissing the love of his life? AbsoLUTELY not. This guy is running out of the room IMMEDIATELY to go white-knuckle the bathroom sink. He is going to stare at his reflection breathing heavily and trying to wipe the blush off his face before falling heavily against the door behind him and sinking slowly to the tile to bury his face in his knees. Akito is the least mentally stable man I’ve ever met. Toya, on the other hand. With how much he admires Akito, and with how much he wears his heart on his sleeve without even realizing what he’s feeling himself, the only thoughts I can imagine going through his mind are ‘:D’ Toya would not hide any of his emotions from Akito for a second, I doubt he even knows how. The only thing Toya is doing is realizing, ‘oh, I’m in love with him.’ And then saying, ‘Akito, I’m in love with you.’
To close this out I’m going to send you all to one of my favorite takes on their dynamic in this post. This is especially true after reading Toya’s side story in his 3star from kick it up a notch, which I highly recommend all akitoya fans go read ❤️❤️❤️
I make Toya and Kanade fanart. Also fan fiction and other things. Send me a request and I might fulfill it :)
