hi yes henlo how do you do the 3D look with your line art? it is a very neat look and i have seen it in other artists’ work as well but idk how to replicate that effect :/ quick tutorial, if you don’t mind? ^w^
hmmm well! there’s lots of different methods and different results when it comes to 3D-ish effects in art, but personally, i do it like this:
1) I…….. well, have the casual normal black/dark lineart at first:
2) (This usually happens after I’ve finished coloring and shading my drawing) I copy-paste my lineart and color it red, and then I put it under the casual/black lineart, and move it a little to the right:
3) I do it once again, but this time, instead of red, i color it blue (cyan? cyan), and move it slightly to the left:
aaaaand THAT’S IT! nsxkjsjks I usually also erase the red/blue lineart in places where the 3D-ish effect makes it hard to read the drawing (for example, on the entire face, or places where there are lots of messy brush strokes next to each other, like hair), and sometimes playing aroud with the linearts’ opacity slightly might do the trick too.
And yeah, it doesn’t have to be red and blue! Honestly, it mostly depends on the drawing’s color palette; as long as it’s two different, vibrant colors, it’ll work.
Here, some examples:
