Heart to heart, being sentimental, compassion… joy, love…those aren’t things that the Horde acceptsI’m not sure her anger is hair-trigger. She doesn’t go off for no reason. It’s something that builds. She always has a reason for being angry. She’s smart. Very smart. Definitely a high-int character. How else would she have overthrown Shadow Weaver? She knows how to use her assets; she saw a chance with Entrapta and she took it. She’s afraid but she doesn’t let that fear rule her–she’s terrified of Shadow Weaver but she still fought against her. She’s terrified of Hordak but she still spoke up against him in defense of herself. 

I think she’s motivated primarily by instincts, but she executes her will with her intellect. She’s a very passionate and somewhat impulsive person…Adora is too, for that matter. hey if I may ask for some advice..( I'm not the anon who sent u whether they could ask you for advice but how do you deal with the constant fear that ur friends don't actually like you and all hate you?

1. communicate with your friends. tell them something like “i have anxiety and one of the ways it manifests is that i have a fear all my friends secretly hate me, so can i get some reassurance about our relationship, and if you ever did want to stop being friends would you tell me?” opening the lines of communication is super important bc u can get validation that they like you and validation that if they didnt like you they wouldnt pretend to keep being your friend

2. love yourself. a lot of that anxiety comes from insecurity, so once you learn to love yourself and have faith that you are a good person worth being friends with, you wont fear that everyone hates you, and even if they do hate you it doesnt matter bc ur a rad person and can find new friends

3. understand that these thoughts are probably a symptom of anxiety, and anxiety is treatable in many ways w therapy and a change in mindset. once you figure out how to calm your anxiety in other respects you should be able to apply it to this too. thinking constantly about negative “what if”s takes you away from the present moment and reality as a whole. instead of saying “what if my friends hate me” say “i should go see one of my friends to make sure things are still good between us”

One of the main complaints I see a lot from ST fans is that many of the characters are either useless or have had nothing to do over the course of the show. I wonder if said fans ever took the time to consider the fact that:

Mike’s intelligence, optimism, compassion, unorthodox method of thinking, and commitment to his friends saved the Party from bullies and the great evils of the Upside Down, the Demogorgon, and the Mind Flayer.

Lucas used common sense and rationale to aid in finding Will, and was supportive of Max and Mike in their respective times of need.

Dustin’s keen sense of observation helped to resolve conflicts within the Party, keeping them on track to finding Will, and his book smarts later gave more clarity on the impending dangers of Dart and the Mind Flayer.

Will’s heightened sensibilities informed and prepared the Party for what they were up against in fighting the Mind Flayer.

El’s empathy, loyalty, and protectiveness saved her loved ones on several occasions, both physically and emotionally.

Max’s independence and willingness to extend a hand in friendship made El realize that she could have a life outside of her boyfriend.

Joyce’s maternal love and unwavering faith in the impossible aided in Will’s return and subsequent well-being.

Hopper’s protectiveness and a strong sense of duty resulted in Will’s return and El remaining safe for nearly a year after her disappearance.

Jonathan’s displays of kindness and courage, as well as a sincere fondness for all things abnormal, provided a solid foundation for his family (both biological and surrogate).

Nancy’s fierce determination, intellect, and passion for justice led to uncovering the truth behind Barb’s death and the growing threat of the Mind Flayer.

Steve’s willingness to reconcile his poor decisions and become a mentor figure to Dustin showed us all that self-reformation is possible.

Robin’s unconventional skills and academic intelligence helped to expose the truth behind the Russians’ involvement with Starcourt Mall and their plans to reopen the Gate.

At the end of the day, this is a large ensemble cast of characters. While one can argue that some individual storylines could have been executed differently, it’s impossible for everyone to get an equal amount of screen time. A character’s purpose isn’t always measured by how many times they can throw a punch or swing a nail bat. Their mental and emotional strengths are just as important, if not more compelling and vital to the show overall.

i got bored so i thought i’d share some art tips ‘cause why not!!

- start with a sketch. seriously no artist i’ve ever met starts a drawing with lineart

- construction lines like boxes and circles are a godsend and the more you use them the more you’re able to make different body types that are proportional. eventually you’ll be using them less and less as you commit different body types to memory

- study some realism first because it’s a good way to build skills in lighting and proportions. this doesn’t mean you can only draw realism obviously, but having that knowledge does help for future reference

- anime is a valid style and fuck anyone who says otherwise

- originality is a myth. take ideas and inspiration from other artists, movies, whatever and build your own style from that. it’s gonna take time but it’ll come i promise

- use references if you don’t know how to draw something. as long as you don’t trace it or claim it as your own, you are totally valid if you look at other poses online for how to draw something. if it’s heavily referenced just mention + credit where you got the pose from

- don’t be afraid to ask artists for tips and tricks. personally whenever someone asks me about brushes n stuff i get super excited and am like “yes here and here and here” and i’m p sure other artists feel the same

- flip!!! your canvas!!!!! you’ll hate it at first but it really does make your drawings 1000x better i promise

- try not to shade too much with black ‘cause it looks muddy. there are some exceptions, like light diffusion and differences in lighting, but if the object is colorful or around something colorful try to shade in a darker color similar to that one

- don’t be like @staff. learn basic color theory

- watch!! tutorials!! and speedpaints!!

- color dodge is so good for glowing. seriously. those glowy effects i use? all color dodge. it highlights the saturated colors while casting the rest in shadow

- overlay is your best friend

- use multiply for shading if you’re not sure what colors to use

- use many many layers, there is nothing worse than doing something wrong and messing up the whole thing trying to fix it because you don’t have a different layer for it

- draw what you want. no rush. no pain. it’s for you. it doesn’t have to be perfect

- practice practice practice!!! drawing is a skill, anyone can learn. y’all should see my drawings three years ago. it’s all practice.

- there’s this weird culture around filling up your sketchbook with only clean drawings and stuff which is, uh. bullshit. your sketchbooks can have whatever mess you want. that’s why it’s called a sketchbook and not a masterpiece book. do whatever you want

- don’t feel discouraged if your art doesn’t get as much attention. time zones + filters + a lot of things may be a factor and it doesn’t mean you’re not good

- don’t compare yourself to other artists unless you’re looking to learn from them because everyone’s style and level is different and you won’t get anywhere if you feel bad because you think you’re “not good enough”

- “not good enough” is also bullshit btw, art is fluid and creative and the standard is whatever you want it to be

- ignore cringe culture that should be abolished immediately anyways

- you don’t owe anyone anything. you do you.

- if someone tells you you can’t draw something, that’s a perfect motivation to draw lots of that thing to spite them

- drawing is supposed to be fun. if it’s super stressful for you, it’s okay to take a break

- experiment!!! there’s so much you can do for art, don’t be afraid to try new things!!
