jaemin had tried his best to ignore it. like for real.

whether it be scribbling in his notebook, staring back to his laptop and trying to read the contents from it, playing with the google chrome dinosaur; he has done it all. although none of it made little to no sense anymore—for he always finds himself staring back at you; his head propped on an elbow, eyes laced with nothing but pure adoration.

at this point, he had given up. he’s certain you’ve caught him plenty of times enough for you to give him your attention.

and it seems like it does the trick.

you sigh, you took one of your earphones off before you stare back at him across the table. “jaem, do you need something? you’ve been staring too much.”

you could only wonder why is he doing that other than do his own homework: a thing that is inarguably worthy of his attention than you.

“do it again.” he said.

“do what, na?”

“sing for me.”

and oh boy, did his heart swell from the sight of your heat-up cheeks and furrowed eyebrows. you’re so damn cute jaemin wants to kiss you on sight.

“what...are you stupid?”

“i probably am, will you sing for me now?”

only you could make his own world stop even if you didn’t meant to. well, although he’s not blaming you–sometimes he just wants to hold you accountable for it.

“was it an akmu song? say, you really know what i like, huh?” a sly smile spread his lips.

he might act stupid around you all the time, but he’s not real dumb. it was small and barely noticeable, however, the fact that he is all ears for you every single time–quite literally–was enough for him to hear it.

“i wasn’t singing for you!”

gotcha. “so, you were singing!” he said, enthusiasm in his voice evident.

everyday you learn something. today, na jaemin, learned that the person he likes has the lips of an angel. so, his best friend, donghyuck, wasn’t lying when he said that you can actually sing, huh?

holy hell, he’s certain that it would forever be engraved in his mind.

the strings of tones and melodies coming from your lips was enough to put him in reverie. it was lovely, and he wished you’d never stop because jaemin wouldn’t mind getting lost to it.
