If a queer director makes a queer movie it doesn't necessarily say anything about the actors' sexuality.
Lee and Maren - fictional characters - being queer coded says nothing about the actors' sexuality either.
It's fiction. It's art. It's called acting.
Also, enjoying to watch queer scenes isn't problematic. Even interpetrating the actors' sexuality as queer isn't problematic.
The problem starts when fans harass actors if they don't conform to their interpretation of their art in real life.
Tim can fuck a 1000 men on screen and stil identify as straight. He can also fuck a 1000 women on screen and identify as gay, bi, pan...
A performance is never real.
A persons fanfic tells you a lot about them, i , a fanfic writer, realize in terror
i am here i am naked i am waiting
So anyway where do I sign up to have him fuck me?
Guess the carpet’s over now I’ll never recover
who let this man out of his cage
i was wondering why he's so good at the slav squat but then i remembered he's part russian on his mom's side
oh, he's got nice legs.
sweet tired babbus 💖
can we talk about his hair and his big smile🥺💙
finally a timmy sighting in budapest.
sometimes i wonder if im being cringey with my interests and then i remember there's people that ship minecraft streamers together and i realize im doing fine actually
honestly ... yeah i agree with this. i think of actors like mark ruffalo for example, who is capable of truly incredible things, and it kinda hurts my heart that in 50 years or so he'll be better remembered for his turn as bruce banner than for anything like spotlight or zodiac or shutter island.
i also think about tom holland, who is by far the most charming spiderman and seems to enjoy doing it — will this be more of a jumping off point for him? i hope so; baby can act. he more than held his own against robert pattinson in the devil all the time, which is saying a lot. i would hate to see him mostly cast in goofy shoot shoot bang bang bullshit after this.
i've seen quite a few "pedro pascal in marvel when?" type posts lately. i'm not inserting myself into the marvel vs ✨cinema✨ debate right now even though i have some thoughts about it, but i will say this: i can't imagine wishing for this poor man to get stuck in marvel hell for the next 10 years or so
i enjoy marvel properties on the whole — they're fun and sometimes genuinely emotionally resonant, but they do have a tendency to swallow up good actors and not spit out their withered husks until character death occurs
