Dear Gus & Magnus,

Mom got Magnus signed up for a toddler soccer league with Gracie, Eli, Martin, and Elena, among other kids. Magnus did fairly well for his first practice, but he also got distracted easily like the other kids, of course. After practice we stopped at Shipley's to get some doughnuts, which we ate at Baker Park.

Mom and Cory went to the Miss Gay Arkansas Pageant, of which Yiayia was a judge, so we had a dads' night with the Grummers. It was a good day.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Gus had his first soccer practice today at the Little Rock Rangers Academy. He was reluctant to admit it, but I think he had fun. I had fun watching him. At the end of today's practice, they divided up into teams of three to play against each other. It was mostly just six kids all chasing a ball -- Gus didn't even know where his goal was until I told him at the water break -- but I was proud of him for kicking the ball when it got close to him.

SIDENOTE: Gus was on the red team and they won 8-0. Gus scored a goal and he had one save (but it was a save for the wrong team). I assume I was the only person keeping score/stats. I've said it before, but I'm going to be a lunatic dad as a spectator.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Mom worked today, but it was a big day for the Choate Boys. Nene joined us to watch Gus's first soccer game at 8:30, during which he got his foot on the ball a few times, and he got to play goalie some. They won 5-0. Then we went to Eli's birthday party at Allsopp.

Back home, Gus legitimately waited by the window for the Amazon van to deliver his new drone. Rhett came over and we stomped cans, played pinball, and Magnus helped me mow the back yard. Then the big boys went to the Grummers' house and Magnus helped me grill steaks. A long day, but a good one.
