This Got Me Thinking.

This got me thinking.

You’ll notice Mike is sitting on the couch, literally in the same spot he was sitting almost a year earlier when Will confided in him for the first time about the mindflayer. Will also asked that Mike not tell the others because they wouldn’t understand.

And here we are again. Nothing's changed.

Except it has.

Now, instead of Will being right beside Mike, with them on the same level both sharing something that is weighing down on them, we have Mike sitting next to Lucas, while Will is sitting higher up above all of them. It’s only now after several signs of the mindflayer, and with everyone present, that Will is deciding to come clean about what he’s been seeing. Not one on one with Mike like before.

Just makes me wonder what Mike could have been thinking at this moment, in this exact spot.

I wonder why Will lied to me about being okay that first time at Day of the Dead? Did he really think it wasn’t a big deal? Or was something else stopping him from opening up to me like he normally would when I asked if he was okay?

Then he’s suddenly thinking about the second time it happened, at the field, which is when he ran off with El. Obviously Will wouldn’t have been able to tell him then. And then the final time at castle Byers after their rain fight… yeah that's when Will finally told them, but look what brought them here?

This also makes the ending of s3 hit a bit harder.

I guess I’ve been feeling distant from you. Like, you’re pulling away from me or something.

While Mike has his own battle he’s dealing with when it comes to choosing El over Will and the party at times, I think this realization that this played a role in Will distancing himself instead of confiding in Mike like he did before, is such an interesting concept.

I was worrying too much about El and… I don’t know. Maybe I feel like I lost you or something…

It's as if Mike has already outright told us why he latched onto El in the first place and how it directly correlated with why he felt like he lost Will (lost exclusive best friend perks? idk dude is dramatic).

That it was about worry for him when it came to El. Concern. Care.

What he feels for El is deep and meaningful, but it also comes with a dose of obligation and responsibility. Mike feels extremely indebted to El after everything she has does for them. Not only has she had to endure so much because of those around her expecting things from her, but that also includes Mike. His worry for her is fairly warranted.

Mike's attempt in s3 to be as normal as possible, while simultaneously trying to juggle his care for El and his relationship with Will and his other friends... it's just interesting seeing how it plays out and where it all leads to.

In s3, but especially s4, there is this distinction that Mike makes, where he separates Will from their other friends. He also then compares his relationship with El to theirs and how it's negatively impacted them because of his feelings and behavior...

If it was really platonic between him and Will, why in the hell is he making these distinctions at all? Why is he separating Will from the category with his friends and putting him into a category with his gf...?

There were so many words trying to spill out of Lucas’s mouth but all he could manage was “holy shit, holy shit, holy shit” over and over like some kind of mantra as Max faintly mumbled “Not very big?”, so it ended up being Dustin who managed to say what they were all thinking.

“Max was right! You do have superpowers!”

“That’s not what I said,” said Max, but Jane was already glancing between them hesitantly. Okay, Dustin might have yelled it. “But like, you do, don’t you?”

“Did you not see the way she moved them with her mind?”

ML Week - Day 6: Evil!Heroes

@mlstaffappreciation I’M SORRY FOR THE FEELS This is not propriely an Evil!Heroes but… I thought that the way Chat Noir can “cleanse” akumas is absorb all the negative power from them and take strenght by it. (Alas, with a sort of abstinence included in the price) This is not a regular cleaning, because he needs Ladybug to purify his soul, after that. My headcanon that these butterflies cannot be akumatized anymore after this. They are pure and protected, because Chat Noir took the anger and Ladybug filled the butterflies with joy instead of just take the pain away. PROBABLY IT’S IMPROBABLE, BUT OH WELL.

Okay so high school sports AU where Jack is a hockey player with the nickname ‘Jack Frost’ because of his talents and Merida is the star archer. They never cross paths because different seasons and stuff, but Punz drags Merida to one of her gymnastics meets and Astrid is also on the team so Hiccup brings Jack to the same meet. And of course Jack and Merida are huge on school spirit and they both start screaming and yelling for their school and soon they’re both forcibly dragged out for really graphic threats and insults to the other team. Since the meet isn’t over and they both rode there with other people they have to sit out there with each other and of course they start talking. And once they start talking they start fighting mainly about what’s better hockey or archery. Soon they’re yelling again and Hiccup, Punz, and Astrid walk out and have to physically pull them apart. When they see each other in school again they both roll their eyes and make faces at each other. But Hiccup and Astrid became friends with Punz and so now they’re all sitting at the same lunch table. They try to avoid conversation with each other but soon they can’t help but talk about their rival schools and how much they suck at whatever sport and who they think will win this sports game or that championship. And before long lunch is over and they’ve made plans to go to all these games together. And at Jack’s first hockey game of the season Merida is in the crowd with Jack’s jersey number face painted on her cheek. In the locker room the guys poke fun at him and ask if she’s his girlfriend and he’s blushing like crazy because he totally wishes she was his girlfriend. Then the team wins and she crashes him into this giant bear hug and all he can think about is how much he wants to kiss her. And of course he confides all this in Hiccup who confides it all in Astrid who talks about it with Punz since Merida’s been confiding all her feelings for Jack in her and soon the three of them are scheming how to get them together. In the end they end up switching Jack’s jersey and Merida’s sweatshirt and she doesn’t notice wearing it to school and suddenly everyone thinks they’re dating and the guy’s on Jack’s team are like ‘dude, why didn’t you tell us?’ and he’s like 'what?’ then he sees Merida still unaware she’s wearing his jersey because obviously at school she’s a total zombie. SO he walks over and makes a joke like 'so you decided to become my girlfriend and not tell me?’ and she gets so shocked and embarrassed and can’t even talk and so he points to his jersey. Then she’s looking down and getting surprised all over again and he just says 'its ok you’re cuter in it anyways’ and suddenly Merida’s not the only one blushing and of course after that they start dating.

secret relationship byler au where lucas and dustin catch mike kissing will on the cheek, and somehow it doesn't register in their brains that it means that they're dating, but rather it's another special thing only mike and will have. accusing mike of favoritism, they now always demand that he has to kiss both of them on the cheek, too.
