Your eyes fly open, and your other senses slowly awaken. You’re lying on the floor in some unknown place. Rain’s sound is muffled, with a thunderstorm raging just outside. Your sight falls on the silhouette sitting by the fireplace, murmuring their prayer to the gods. You have no recollection of how you got there.

Furthermore, your brain can’t remember your name. But, it seems that that’s not your only trouble - the door creaks and someone hooded enters the room.

The game's events are set in a dark, low, medieval fantasy world, where each step you take needs to be tread lightly. Your journey starts with you awakening in an unfamiliar hut that’s located hell knows where. Try to find out what happened to you, carving out your own story in the process.

↳ YOU ARE A SCAVENGER; a lone wanderer of the galaxies barely scraping by on your derelict secondhand ship. You hunt down abandoned ships and settlements, stripping them of what useful parts you can find and selling those to whoever will pay your prices. It's a dangerous, solitary life, but you don't have much choice in the matter. You have too much of a past to trust a crew or to settle down planetside.

But everything will change when you discover the salvage of a lifetime. Among the ruins of a planet older than you thought possible, you discover an ancient prison, containing something that you thought existed only in myth.

You don't remember what happens next; but when you wake, you're a prisoner on a Consortium ship — and you are no longer alone in your own mind.

↳ YOU ARE NOW A VESSEL; the last vessel of the lost god.

Or is is the lost vessel of the last god? Either way, life as you know it is over. The Consortium — the conglomeration of various companies and governments that rule known space — want your head. The rebels want your power. But what do you want?

Escaped the Consortium with the aid of a fellow prisoner and a disgraced officer. Find a new ship, gather a crew of your own, and forge your place in a universe in which you are now something other than human.

And don't forget.

Lore Bite (World Premise)

So the premise of this world is that a long time ago there were deities, nobody would deny their existence as their was tangible proof of their existence. But then an almost mythical historical figure called the God Slayer rose to power and did slaughtered every single one of them. Before that though, there was a prophesied hero who was meant to stop the God Slayer and they evidently did not.

The magic of the gods still courses through the world but it is not stable, and neither is the world. Many civilizations fell and monsters plague much of the world. And religion became weird. But on the bright side magic is more available to mortals, not by much but noticeably.

But this story is far removed from that time. Monsters are still a problem but it's become a normal fact of life now. Most, if not all, gods have been forgotten but still some groups cling to the idea of a deity. Or they have simply moved on to worshipping to other powerfull beings, but most simply have left those "archaic" ways behind.

Only Oblivion remains.

Well of The Divine is a 18+ fantasy text-based game built using ChoiceScript. Rated 18+ for explicit language and optional sexual content.

This is my first time writing anything in ChoiceScript (first time coding in general) so please bare with me as I learn and thank you for your patience 💛

The Well of The Divine has been compromised. Once the source of the Gods strength, it is now closed off to them leaving them truly vulnerable for the first time in their long existence. They are scared.

What does this have to do with you?

Found as a new-born, abandoned by those that brought you into this world, you never knew your birth parents. Only those who took you in. The problems of the Gods had never involved you until now. Divine blood flows in your veins. An encounter with your Godly parent brings death to your village. Those who hunt the Gods have come for you too.
