I could not imagine what this would have done to Luke's parents. Clark entrusts their kid to Layton one time, and you know what, it goes well! He really seems to be coming out of his shell, and maybe the road to healing his and Clark's relationship is on the up and up.
Does it again, Luke comes back alright and oh boy, now Clark and Luke are really on the mend! Luke is also happy and excited about everything a lot!
Luke doesn't come home the third time.
Where is their son. Where is his mentor.
Where is their baby boy.
The characters lying dead after the beam of light. I actually cried when I saw this, not just because I love these characters. But the thought of them never reviving and the parents of Layton and Luke having to know that their sons have passed away.
The categories are the same for men, but the numbers are adjusted to accommodate the taller heights of men./j

HOW ARE THERE NO INDIANA JONES PROFESSOR LAYTON XOVERS ON AO3 OR FANFICTION.NET!?!?!?!
I think a nicer twist to this is that Forkle all but FORCED Elwin to stay quiet. Because Elwin said in Legacy(??) that Sophie deserved to know who her bio parents are. Even if their relationship did take a hit, it might help that Elwin WANTED to tell her.
That said, I'm about 90% sure it isn't Elwin tho.
If Elwin ends up being Sophie’s bio dad (I don’t think he is) it would probably cause like a major rift between them, if that makes sense. Sophie sees him as a father figure and he’s been her doctor for years of her life, in which most of her visits were fatal or just really bad.
I understand that if he was her dad, he wouldn’t be able to reveal himself but regardless it would be painful for Sophie. This is how it is between Sophie and Oralie, when she starts to resent Oralie (I think I’ve forgotten the specifics) once learning she was lied to for years by someone she trusts.
She would most likely have the same reaction if Elwin was her bio dad. And Elwin and Sophie were closer than Sophie and Oralie (makes sense he saw her in almost all of her near death experiences).
In my opinion this would also result in Sophie not going to Elwin’s office when she needs to, just to avoid meeting him. This would make her near death experiences WAY more serious and may end up with a disability or death if not treated (I think, I’m not a doctor obviously)
Playing the Last Specter(!!!!!) and I am so concerned for Brock. Buddy? It's gonna be okay? But also please go to therapy because laughing hysterically like this isn't healthy, bud.
THAT'S where I've heard him from! I played Last Specter and a bell went off in my head!
Mild Curious Village spoilers under the cut
I'd like to add that someone harming Luke or Flora would push him over the edge. I'm sure he would for Katrielle or Alfendi when they were younger, or Emmy if she was in that situation, but really I've only seen them when they are old enough to defend themselves, so I can't say. And it wouldn't be in a controlled way, which I think he would do in defense of himself or others, especially innocents. It would be in a you-have-hurt-the-child-in-my-care way. Flora is alone in terms of human relatives, and Luke is usually FAR from home, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a papa bear instinct specifically for his charges.
There's a fanfic that takes place during the Ace Attorney crossover game where Layton rages. Spoilers for the game, but if you don't care, I didn't have too hard of a time following: https://archiveofourown.org/works/49064023
It is finished and very well written, but heed the tags and take care of yourself as always.
Sometimes I like to think about what it would take to make Professor Layton ever hit someone. Like how far does he need to be pushed? Or would he never at all?
Ive said this on another post, but Elwin was also someone who backed her search for her bio parents. When she mentioned that she had a right to know to Forkle, Elwin said "she definitely does." I think it would help her feel better that Elwin WANTED her to know, wanted to be part of her life like a good father would. It would definitely be a step up from Oralie's reaction.
If Elwin is Sophie’s dad can I at least pray she doesn’t feel betrayed? I mean Elwin being her father wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. He has been with her since day one and has been nothing but a listening ear. Yes, him being revealed as her father would make things sticky but I don’t think Sophie would be appalled by the idea. I know people have been saying that she would be angry, and she would have every right to be. But at the same time if it is revealed I don’t think it’ll be that bad… Oralie being Sophie’s biological mom was a lot. The counselors have been against Sophie since the beginning and have made decisions to harm her and her friends constantly. Of course she’s going to be mad because she found out her mother was on the counselor that had been harassing her. But it wasn’t just that it was how Oralie handled it when it was revealed. She kept treating Sophie like she was fragile and shouting “it was the only way for me to have a kid”… like come on Oralie.
If Elwin is revealed that he’s her biological father I know 100% he would take accountability. Something that Oralie could NOT do when it was revealed. He cares for Sophie deeply and would not want her to be hurt so he would take accountability. He would be honest and he wouldn’t lie about anything when it was out. Elwin has always been a man of his word and that’s what i appreciate about him. Not to mention, yes he treats Sophie as a child because she is, but he also treats her as a person with her own life. He wants her to make good decisions and fight for what she wants. He wouldn’t see him having Sophie as his only way to start a family. Elwin would love her as his child not because she’s the moonlark but because she is who she is. He’s constantly proud of her for handling everything even though he knows it’s unfair. He states it in his doctors notes in Unlocked. He has always been on Sophie’s side. When she was exiled and she ran to him for help he was on her side. He fought for her and had hope for her. I don’t think she would be appalled about the fact he would be her dad. I think she would be relieved that it’s not a crazy person.
Would it be disappointing for some readers? Yes. It sure would mess up the headcanon of wanting Elwin to adopt Keefe. (Cuz that would make them kinda siblings… but Keefe can just stay an orphan ngl. I’m joking. I’ll make a new headcanon later.) Anyway- long story short, I don’t think Elwin being Sophie’s dad would be as bad as people say it would be. Not to mention I honestly don’t believe that Sophie would hate Elwin. She might be a little betrayed but come on it’s Sophie guys.
Anna Lea was in three songs and yet she has my heart and mind forever.
I really hope we all give a big applause to Anna Lea because she reached those high notes like her life depended on it only after to go with such a sweet change in what, seconds?
Queen, honestly, i hope she is hired in more things
Hi I'm back on this again.
Spoilers for both the Forgotten Lands memory quest and object quest.
I am on the relic quest, and I was baffled at the fact that the Forgotten seemed so close to Scar as a child. I mean, you find a drawing you made IN HIS DOMAIN. It means both you AND him were comfortable enough to lounge together and hang out. This was puzzling, both with how Scar treats you now and how Scar tried to overthrow the Forgotten in the memory of the Dreamscape.
But as I think about it, it doesn't surprise me as much. Because Scar, the most selfish, catty (ha), power-hungry jerk of the Pride Lands, was willing to share the crown with you. He says it in the memory that if you just said yes, he would have let you rule by his side, which is a pretty big allowance considering who we are talking about. Shit, I don't think he let his own NEPHEW co-rule with him. This led me to the conclusion that Scar loves the Player, so much so as to keep them close in his conquest of power and let you draw in his cave.
This got me thinking about Mother Gothel's Dreamscape memory too. Notice how she wasn't trying to lock the Forgotten in the tree because she wanted something from you, like Rapunzel. No, she seemed to actively want to protect you from what she thinks is naivety. She tells you that the world is cruel and dangerous, and, both then and now, seems convinced you aren't quite capable on your own.
Is what either of them doing right? No. But i think it is their perverse expression of love and care. To keep you close while Scar ruled would risk an overthrow, but he's willing to make that concession. It could be that he wants a powerful ally, but how would that explain his actions when you were younger? Vanity, perhaps, but even the villians in the Village seem to care about the Player. Would the fact that he cares in his own, messed up way be so far-fetched? Maybe Gothel is worried about the Valley's state, but she doesn't say anything about the rotting produce when talking to you. Maybe she does just want to protect you, but the way she tries it bad.
I don't know. I'm not even close to done with the relic quest, but the way Mickey's segment of it played out, I was puzzled with how close the Forgotten seemed with the villians at a young age vs the memories when they were older. Maybe the quest will turn out different, but it's just a thought.
