there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than look a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.
a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.
if art gets better traction, then there’s an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.
within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gaza’s fundraiser. it’s a small effort in the grand scheme of things. it’s not a fix it. but it’s something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.
here is bashar. i’ve drawn him, spoken to him, and known him now for a few months. any shares help, any art helps. draw who you see, draw what you see. thanks all
Hello. I'm really sorry I haven't updated here, I really don't know how many people are going to see this. The place in the photo above is called Catia, it is a popular lower-middle class area close to where I live.
Currently in Venezuela the largest electoral fraud in its history is occurring. Thousands of people around the country are protesting against A DICTATORSHIP that has left the minimum wage in misery, economic support for elderly adults in almost nothing, and universities in ruins thanks to the fact that the governors steal the money. money that is destined to fix them. There are few artists or public figures in my country who say anything about it, since many of them have bought their silence. Please, many in our peaceful protests have been kidnapped by the national guard, and they are minors. They are transferred to El Helicoide, the largest torture center in the country.
I am currently serving first aid during the protests, but I also fear for my life. There are seniors and many young people with us. Today a guard almost stole my cell phone.
You would help us a lot as a nation by reblogging this and spreading it, thank you very much. May the virgin bless you.
My mother in law has had one her worst days, she lost mobility over one of her legs for hours, she already got treated through her healthcare but she needs to keep going to her appointments.
We need to secure money to take her to a bunch of appointments, starting the process so she can get physical therapy and probably get surgery.
We're using our last bit of money to pay the computer rental to beg for help.
Our last post
We got lots of notes but didn't make our goal for groceries.
We've been living in a house full of mold with roaches and ants after my in-laws lost their house to a fire and grandma lost her life.
I offer trinkets through my KoFi but we have been relying heavily on your generosity online.
We need $125 for food, $250 to keep going to her and my appointments, $130 for my meds tomorrow Monday and the rest $795 are repairs to get rid of the mold before the rain fucks up the house further.

Hello! My older sister is currently escaping a domestic violence situation. She has been financially abused and suddenly cut off from their joint finances by her ex, and received a ten-day eviction notice while in the process of financially recovering.
She is at risk of being homeless in winter with two children, and of uprooting her child with an intellectual disability from his support system.
I know this is a tough time for all and that I've asked for help frequently lately, but our family has exhausted our resources and we are unable to get the funds together to keep them housed.
Her most urgent goal is 1,500, to pay her rent and avoid immediate eviction, but the full goal would help her find a new place and fully remove herself from an unsafe environment.
Anything at all would help her and her children tremendously, and I can provide more receipts to verify the situation in private if necessary.
Spreading this would be a huge help. Thank you so much for reading.
Help me spread the word about what is happening in my country.I don't want to cry anymore thinking about what is going to happen to my family, or my friends. Many in my generation have committed suicide due to the desperation of the current crisis, others have left their university careers to go to work at an early age for a starvation wage. Please, I just want to stop suffering, I don't want to cry anymore, I just want a normal adolescence for all young people. My people need FREEDOM.
"I told Congress: you are killing poor children in Gaza by buying bombs, and you're paying for it by cutting children off Medicaid in the United States. This was the response from the authorities."
Please don't stop donating and supporting Sami and his family, who face death every single moment. His family consists of 14 people, and thanks to your donations, he is feeding his children and covering the needs of his sick mother and father.
A piece of your heart... saves what's left of theirs. And we thank everyone who helped them get food and medicine. Donate here.
I officially inform you that we have run out of flour and no food is available. Within two days, the flour may run out completely in the Gaza Strip.
We do not have flour and it is expensive because the occupation prevents its entry.
Donate to save our lives from famine.
