Hello, I'm hamdi π΅πΈ After 100 days of displacement, my family and I found ourself forced to leave our home and land in Gaza. π‘π The journey to Egypt was not a choice, but a necessity imposed by the harsh conditions. we crossed the border, carrying with us scattered dreams and hopes for a better life, but we quickly realized that displacement was not the end of the suffering, but the beginning of a new chapter.
In Egypt, we are stuck between a bitter alienation and a painful reality. ππ§ We do not have residency, which makes every step difficult and every day full of challenges. Prices in Egypt resources are unforgiving, and the ones we brought with us are quickly melting away. πΈ While we try to endure and survive, our hearts remain attached to Gaza; The homeland that never leaves our minds or leaves us for a moment. π΅πΈπ Our loved ones there live under siege, and we live under the burden of alienation and worry for them. Every day in Egypt feels like an endless wait, and every contact with Gaza opens a door to pain. ππ Returning to Gaza did not alleviate the anxiety, but rather confirmed to me that the suffering continues, whether we are inside or outside.
We may still have 300 days to reach the βgoalβ that we do not yet know, but until then, we will continue to face the challenges of life with patience and strength, waiting for the day when safety and stability return to us and our loved ones. πππ€² Donate now: In these difficult times, every donation makes a difference. Your support can help alleviate the suffering of families living under siege in Gaza and facing the challenges of daily life. π΅πΈβ€οΈππ€ Please put your hands in mine and support my childrenππ

let us take a moment and grieve for all the lives lost. so many thousand people have been murdered by the zionist entity in the last fifteen months. palestinians in gaza have lost too much, from friends and family to their homes and livelihood.
this ceasefire is not an end to our solidarity with gaza. we will all be here waiting and praying for palestine to be wholly liberated from the occupation and watch her people be happy and free.
in the meantime, please keep donating to palestinian fundraisers. it is essential to support families planning on rebuilding.
alaa is a mother of two young children. her fundraiser has been verified. i request you to help her by sharing and donating to her gofundme.
please donate here
Last week I made a post to raise awareness my friend Bisan Al-Balawi, who I've been speaking with for some time. She is trapped in Gaza with her family facing immense hardship due to the destruction of her home and life, the onset of winter, and the continual threat of violence. Originally, she made fundraiser primarily to buy a new tent to replace the one her family currently lives in, which is damaged by the elements and unsuited to protect them from the coming cold.
However, since then, the situation has become more urgent. Bisan, who has been working day and night to try and find food and water for her family, was hospitalised with malnutrition just this week. Her life is in danger. Her situation is unsustainable without outside helpβhelp that we can provide.
Bisan needs Β£8,000 both to buy the tent her family needs and also help pay for vital necessities such as food and medicine. This is not something that can wait a long time. Currently, she is only at Β£1,774 of that goal. Compared to other fundraisers this is very achievable. Just this week I was able to dedicate the spare money from my paycheck to her campaign, and I know that a lot of you also have steady paychecks and cash to spare. You may not think it's a lot, but donations add up. If you can't donate, please share so that this can reach more people!
imagine you are texting with a friend and suddenly they tell you that a house near them was just hit with a bomb. in the middle of your conversation. to be more specific, think of the last friend you texted, open up your messages even and look, and think about how you would feel if that happened. how would they feel?
this just happened while i was talking with @nesmaah. she and her family are in constant danger and their only chance of escaping it right now is to get enough money to leave gaza. i'm leaving their fundraiser below. please share and donate if you can. these are real people who are in danger right now, who are suffering, who are trying to live despite the circumstances. do not forget that every single person asking for help is a person just like you and your loved ones.
I'd like to bring to attention another fundraiser which also really needs your support, and it's that of the Abushammala family. This is a family which has been separated due to the war. Amal is trying to get her family out of Gaza to reunite with her.
In the past few months, everything which is familiar to them, their home, their streets, their neighborhood, has been demolished. They've had to evacuate and have been on the run, struggling to find healthy food and clean water. And through all this, her family has persevered and shown their resilience, even as the occupation has been bombing them and cutting access to food and water.
You can see Amal's 2 sisters, Tala and Eman, in the video linked below talking about their family's situation and requesting your help.
They will need to raise funds in order to not only cross the border, but relocation fees and living expenses. They still need your support. Their fundraiser is nearly β¬8000 off of their goal.
And you can find Amal's tumblr @amalisam where she's posting about her family's situation and updates about the fundraiser.
If you, for some reason, still have a subscription to the Atlantic, cancel it
