This testimony from Paul Ley, a doctor at the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza, is absolutely sickening: āI have worked in hospitals in Afghanistan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cambodia... but I have never operated on so many injured children as I am now in the Gaza Strip. In the burns unit of the European Hospital we now have 78 patients, nearly two-fifths of them children under five. I have never seen anything like it. I have been in many war contexts where the type of wounds are the same but the number is huge. We never leave the hospital. We work round the clock. We do operations with minimal anaesthesia. If we run out, we canāt operate but there is no clear line. There are a lot of people crying, screaming with pain, but we donāt have enough analgesics. We keep them for the kids or very severe cases. Normally we would change dressings on patients with 40% burns with them under sedation and minimise the time by using more attendants... Now it has to be done with a lot of pain. We try to keep our heads cool and steady, but for local staff this is their families, friends, their people. They never want to amputate. They say: āI canāt do it any moreā and so I say: āOK I will do it, donāt worry,ā and you can feel the reliefā.
On the second day of the ceasefire, I want to say that Iām very grateful to everyone who has helped my friends in Gaza. Naderās (@abdalsalam2000) fundraiser has reached almost 88,000 euro, and is only 12,000 away from the final goal. He is a seventeen year old boy who is trying to save his family of eight, which includes his one year old niece Iman and his father Ahmed who suffers from cancer which is going untreated because of the genocide. They need to evacuate to get Ahmed the treatment he needs to survive. Iām very emotional and grateful for the help theyāve received, it means the world to their family and all the people who care about them. I think very often of the people who donated ā¬1,000, that money makes more of a difference than I can put into words. I just want to say that your donations and your words matter intensely, you have the power to show these people that the world is listening and that we care and you want to help, and that can help keep hope up. Theyāve suffered a lot, and continuing to ask for help is difficult. Please continue to give Nader and his family your support and share this post and donate. Your donations can be what saves them.
The border will likely open soon, and it would be amazing if they could reach their goal by then. They currently have ā¬87,720 raised, only 280 left to reach 88,000! I know there are kind people reading this, and even though we may feel powerless to stop this, we always have the power to help ā¤ļøšµšø

The thing is that like āedgy humourā really is a GIANT red flag among young white menā¦ā¦you hear white boys making racist jokes all the time but people tend to brush it off and assume theyāll grow out of it or that theyāre just going through a harmless edgy humour phase and likeā¦..some of them might grow out of it but thatās not the POINT! Theyāre racist NOW! Theyāre spreading islamophobic ideas NOW and we brush it off because we assume theyāll grow out of it in the future but whether they do or not is irrelevant; they need to grow out of it Right. Now. Or more lives will be lost.

thereās an online mobilisation effort called āblockout 2024ā, where people are en masse blocking influencers/celebrities who have been silent so far on palestine to make them lose followers and income. and itās been making celebrities and streamers start posting links to gofundmes and the PCRF, which is great. But after 7 months of silence, I simply canāt look at many of these creators the same way, and the idea that these people with so much wealth and influence only started caring when something materially forced their hand and affected their social standing should disgust you too.
so accept the meager good these people are doing by posting links, but remind yourself that all of them couldāve been talking about palestine this whole time. sharing resources is truly the bare minimum. remind yourself that your faves arenāt exempt from the criticism attached to attending the met gala because theyāre your faves. and never forget how many lives they couldāve saved if they spoke up sooner, and bothered to put any of their own money on the line.
Iām legit surprised that I havenāt seen more ray cats in fiction.
If you donāt know, one of the first ideas for how to keep people away from nuclear waste 10000 years from now was to create a breed of cat that would change color if it got near radiation and create lore and songs to go with them that would be remembered long after people forgot what nuclear waste was the same way people still have thousand of years old religions that tell us to do stuff but we forgot why. They made a song for them and everything.
One, why havenāt they showed up in more futuristic fiction? Two, why have I never seen a ray cat furry? Three, why did they pick an animal that is THE MOST likely to wander off instead of one we have more control over like horses or dogs?
They need more esims!
Anyone knows what this asshole is trying to do? Heās straight up trying to destroy the US from the inside out and trying to get access into the US treasuryās payment system. Pressuring the previous FAA director to resign after the FAA found that spacex was not prioritising safety enough, then now with all the guardrails removed or fired suddenly a Blackhawk slams into a plane and kills everyone on board? And now heās saying he wants to work with Boeing to produce the new air force one, what can go wrong? Two companies famous for their products malfunctioning in fatal ways. And heās getting his smelly hands into every government trying to influence them or their alt right population like the AFD. Anyone someone should look into him but they wonāt, heāll personally make sure of that.
I promise I am not a bot. I just fear being perceived š„²
