Hey hey hey, niche post I know but food photographer Kat Kimball and the Ganza agency are putting together a naked calendar of New Orleans chefs to help raise money for WeHelpNOLA - a nonprofit that provides free mental health care for New Orleanian restaurant workers. It’s a really vital cause that always needs more support and if you want to help out while also enjoying artful and quirky nude photoshoots of local food icons, please consider buying a calendar.
And for a quick taste of what you’ll be receiving, here are some of my favorite teasers from the calendar’s official Instagram
"Breathe looks like a thin, cropped tank top with mesh panels to keep the user cool. While it's normally tight fighting, Breathe contains a smart alloy material called Nitone that, when electrified, loosens the garment. It's battery operated and can be adjusted with a remote controller, so the user can discreetly change how tight the binding is -- there's no need to change their clothing or go into a private space in order to take a break. There's also an optional feature that will automatically loosen the device when the user is playing a sport."
what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?
The cruelty of racist white men.
The Ketamine King Musk has shutdown the IRS's Free Tax Filing system.
Of all the things a government could off, a way to Freely calculate and file your taxes seems like a good one. But the richest man in the world thinks we shouldn't have that.
In light of the ceasefire agreement, Gaza needs resources now more than ever, and you absolutely should continue donating. Here are some important campaigns:
1. Gaza Funds - provide direct support
2. Life for Gaza - rebuild vital infrastructure
3. Crips for eSims for Gaza - keep Gaza connected
4. The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund - provide medical support for children
now that trump has tiktok, twitter, facebook and insta in his pocket, get ready for a massive wave of internet censorship. one of trump's greatest weapons has always been misinformation; it's going to become harder and harder to spread facts and criticism going forward. posts that aren't made invisible will be magically ignored by the algorithm. dissidents will have their accounts deleted and voices erased.
this is a suppression tactic. this is another stage of fascism.
here are some interesting surnames I have seen on old graves:
*they’re not inherently “weird” or “rare”, they’re just names I noted for possible future use in my writing
ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help
