Writing Tips
Story Endings
✦
↣ readers invested their time into your publication ; make it worth it!
↣ the conclusion turns readers into fans
↣ endings should be memorable & satisfying ; this will make the readers want to indulge in more of your work
✦
↣ know your genre ; different genres can get away with different endings
↣ a thriller novel ending unexpectedly or ambiguously would be more satisfying to readers than a romance novel ending that way ; and vise vera, a romance novel ending emotionally and with happily ever after would be more satisfying than a thriller ending that way
↣ make it unpredictable but fair ; readers should feel like they could have seen it coming
↣ find a happy medium between what your readers want and what is unexpected
↣ be careful with unresolved or ambiguous endings ; regardless of the ending, the readers need to feel satisfied or they won’t come back
↣ be careful with expanded endings ; most editors frown upon relying on epilogues to reach a satisfying resolution
↣ have your ending in mind from the beginning ; this isn’t always plausible, but it’s very helpful — you’ll end up having hints to the resolution you may not even realize, & readers want that
✦
⤷ ambiguous
→ an ending open to interpretation ; allows readers to come to their own conclusions
⤷ dialogue
→ ending with a quote from one of the characters
⤷ emotional
→ leaving the readers feeling some intense emotion ; negative, positive, or bittersweet
⤷ expanded
→ expands past the events of the narrative to resolve aspects that may not be explained in the main chapters ; usually takes form of an epilogue with a time skip
⤷ happily ever after
→ type of resolved ending where everything works out in the end
⤷ humorous
→ ends with a joke or in an ironic way
⤷ lesson learned
→ ends with clear, profound character development
⤷ reflection
→ ends with characters looking back on their choices, achievements, and experiences
⤷ resolved
→ leaves reader with no questions or loose ends ; all aspects have been clearly & satisfyingly resolved
⤷ tied
→ brings the story full-circle so it ends where it began
⤷ unexpected
→ a twist the readers did not see coming but also makes sense
⤷ unresolved
→ leaves readers with unanswered questions ; usually to lead into the next book
the black brothers were both stars but one loved the sun and one loved the moon
She’s a ten but anytime she’s going through a hard time, she automatically reads and listens to music all day because she would rather escape this world and focus on other peoples sorrow and problems than her own.
this tracklist has me thinking so many thoughts you guys.
they broke up a fortnight into tour... the first show post joever was in florida... who's afraid of little old me being a twist on who's afraid of virginia woolf a film which starred elizabeth taylor and richard burton about a couple whose relationship breaks down at late night drinks in front of people... my boy only breaks his favourite toys - is she the toy??? free from the slammer where the slammer is an obvious reference to jail after all the criminal metaphors of her and joe tricking the system... but daddy i love him being a reference to the little mermaid where she gave up her voice for a man... clara bow being a 1920's film star who found her voice, married a guy who denied they were ever married publicly and then died + the majority of her fame coming from silent films where she literally didn't need to have a voice and then successfully transitioning into 'talkies' (films with sound).... the smallest man who ever lived vs. 'the loudest woman this town has ever seen who had a marvellous time ruining everything'... oh boy.

No one better do to Percabeth what some people in the Flash fandom tried doing to Westallen. Percabeth is endgame. They always have been and they always will be both in the source material and they will be in the show. If I see anyone pulling some snowberry bullshit out of they’re ass with Rachel or Calypso or whoever else the fandom decides to make some kind of de facto white female lead because they’re racist I’m gonna fucking scream.
Percabeth is the definition of a slowburn friends to lovers ship and if anyone even attempts to argue against it in light of the casting indisputably racist. I saw this happen in the Flash when it took a few seasons for Barry and Iris to get together and no matter how much those people claimed it wasn’t about race it clearly was.
We’re not doing that.
Leah and Walker are Annabeth and Percy. And Percabeth will be endgame.
