Ways to heal from ‘Traditional Witchcraft: a Cornish Book of Ways’ by Gemma Gary
rawest fucking florence and the machine lyrics in no particular order:
no more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone
want me to love you in moderation, do i look moderate to you?
this will be my last confession, ‘i love you’ never felt like any blessing, whisper it like it’s a secret only to condemn the one who hears it
because i am done with my graceless heart, so tonight i’m gonna cut it out and then restart
tenderest touch leaves the darkest of marks and the kindest of kisses breaks the hardest of hearts
you don’t have to be a ghost here among the living, you are flesh and blood, and you deserve to be loved and you deserve what you are given, and oh how much
but the loneliness never left me, i always took it with me, but i can put it down in the pleasure of your company
at seventeen i started to starve myself, i thought that love was a kind of emptiness, but at least i understood then the hunger i felt, and i didn’t have to call it loneliness
the fabric of your flesh, pure as a wedding dress
it’s an evensong, it’s a melody, it’s a battle cry, it’s a symphony
but i know it’ll have to drown me, before i can breathe easy
to the crowd i was crying out, and in your place there were a thousand other faces
and it’s over and i’m going under, but i’m not giving up i’m just giving in
in a moment of joy and fury i threw myself from the balcony like my grandmother, so many years before me
and it’s peaceful in the deep, cathedral where you cannot breathe
i know i seem shaky, these hands aren’t fit for holding
i’m not beat up by this yet, you can’t tell me to regret, been in the dark since the day we met, fire help me to forget
it seems that i have been held in this dreaming state, a tourist in the waking world, never quite awake
shower your affection, let it rain on me, pull down this mountain, drag your cities to the sea
and i did cartwheels in your honor, dancing on tiptoes, my own secret ceremonials
a year like this passes so strangely, somewhere between sorrow and bliss
in the spring, i shed my skin and it blows away with the changing winds
i swallow the sound and it swallows me whole until there’s nothing left inside my soul
And how does it feel now you’ve scratched that itch? And pulled out all your stitches? Hubris is a bitch
and i want you so badly, but you could be anyone
drink too much coffee and think of you often in a city where reality has long been forgotten, and are you afraid, because I’m terrified, but you remind me that it’s such a wonderful thing to love
i was in the darkness, so darkness i became
If you're hoping for a smooth reply... you'd be disappointed about this post LOL. This is just a personal opinion.
First thing first I'd prefer to use the term "beginner" instead of "baby" but let's go with the flow for a moment.
The more you know...?
I honestly don't think that the amount of info you know defines if you're a baby witch or not, but it does help for sure. Why?
In my humble opinion...you stop being a baby witch when you're able to fully explain the aspects of Your own ritual.
Easy? No. In order to do that you have to:
🔺Know how to set intent.
🔺Know how to focus properly on what you're doing.
🔺The ingredients correspondences.
🔺Be able to give a personal meaning to words/gesture/timing etc
🔺Be prepared for the consequences and eventually know how to nullify your spell or correct your mistakes
🔺If you work with a deity or another being... you should know about culture/pantheon/offerings/proper EVERYTHING.
To add your own touch to a certain ritual you have to know the general basics, the history behind your practice and mostly...Yourself, your reasons, what pushes you to grow or holds you still. Who you are...
“It is also important to avoid making regular offerings to the spirits, including you familiars. Each offering should be made as payment for a specific service performed. In this way they will always be active and eager to earn their keep. As it is written in the Book of Abramelin the spirits are industrious creatures and must not be coddled like pets.
On the other hand, a spirit who expect to be fed on a schedule will be less inclined to work and may become a lazy glutton. Your only option then is to withhold food until they agree to work, which is counterproductive and certainly not the kind of hostile relationship you want with them!
… Other exceptions to this rule would be offerings made to your ancestors and your personal head-spirit/guardian angel - for whom you can make regular offerings without harm. However, such regular offerings should be kept very simple (such as fire, water, and incense), and special or more elaborate offerings given only as thanks for specific work accomplished.”

Kyoto Bean Soup
👽1 tablespoon vegetable oil
👽1 red onion, finely chopped
👽4-6 pieces thick-sliced unsmoked bacon, chopped
👽1 carrot, coarsely chopped into chunks
👽4 ounces burdock root, peeled and coarsely chopped, soaked in water
👽4 cups (1 pound) Chinese cabbage, coarsely chopped
👽4 medium rutabagas, peeled and cut into bite-sized chunks
👽4 ¾ cups dashi broth (recipe here)
👽4 tablespoons sake
👽3-4 tablespoons light soy sauce
👽1 cup canned cannellini beans, drained
👽2 tablespoons medium-colored miso paste
👽salt to taste
👽2 scallions, finely chopped
👽2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
🌵This is a Japanese interpretation of Tuscan bean soup. Like its Italian counterpart, this soup is wholesome and nourishing. The addition of miso paste gives a hidden depth without changing the character of the soup. I use canned cannellini beans for convenience, but you can substitute any beans of your choice. If you are using dried beans, soak them with three times their volume of water overnight and cook slowly until soft.
🌙Step 1:Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over a moderate heat and saute the onion until softened but not browned.
🌙Step 2: Add the bacon and cook for 5 minutes before adding the carrot, burdock, cabbage, and rutabagas. Saute until soft.
🌙Step 3: Pour in the dashi broth and season with sake and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, skimming off any scum that floats to the surface. Reduce the heat to low/moderate and add the beans. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
🌙Step 4: Stir in the miso paste gently and adjust the seasoning with salt. Ladle into warmed soup bowls. Garnish with the chopped scallions and sesame seeds and serve.
Hello my greenies! I have here a recipe to celebrate Litha! I am recovering from the removal of all four of my wisdom teeth and am unable to feast accordingly. I hope everyone can celebrate and eat for me, so I have here a favorite chicken recipe that I have especially during Litha and many times during the summer.
I will put the corresponding meanings of all the ingredients for the recipe at the end of the post and hope everyone enjoys my recipe. I hope to be posting more soon!
***You can use these ingredients for a whole chicken, but the amount for the coating will need to be adjusted and so will the cooking time. There are many websites that can tell you how to prepare a whole chicken, if that is also what you are looking for.
Ingredients
3 or 4 chicken breasts (I use 3, but I think the recipe would work with four as well.)
1 tbsp of dried lavender
2 tbsp of dried thyme or 4 sprigs of fresh and pulled off the stem.
drizzle of olive oil or coconut oil
1 tbsp of garlic powder
1 and ½ tbsp of onion powder
3 tbsp of honey
1 whole lemon.
dash of salt and pepper
dash of oregano
Directions
If lavender is not crushed, crush until powdery. Then in a small bowl, mix lavender, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a separate bowl, place the three chicken breasts and add the salt and pepper. Mix well and after drizzle the oil, honey, and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Mix thoroughly.
Place in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Make sure all parts of the chicken are covered.
Cover the bowl and let the chicken sit for three hours in the refrigerator.
Once complete, stir the chicken in the bowl again and then place the chicken into a roasting pan and sprinkle oregano on the tops.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the chicken in the oven and bake for 45 minutes, make sure you flip after 23 minutes. When done, take the chicken out and let it sit for about 5 minutes before you eat. While it sits begin the chant.
“With the heat of the day and kiss of the night, summer bring love and spirit to me. Let me feel the child-like dance. Let me embrace myself. I am my own fire.”
While speaking these words allow yourself to hold in the heat inside you. Let it move around through your system and on your skin. Rise that heat up into your neck and float around your head. Then have it come out of you, so now you only feel a slight glow. Have this warmth embrace your house and everything in it until that happiness is surrounding you.
Then enjoy your meal!
*I always find that this meal goes well with some honey garlic potatoes, thyme roasted carrots, Zucchini casserole, and fresh baked flaky biscuits.
If you decide to make this recipe please send me pictures! Although I can’t eat any solids at the moment, I would feel satisfied just by seeing everyone else enjoying their meals. I hope you enjoy this recipe and have a special Litha!

Kitchen Magick is Something near and dear to me. And something I enjoy doing damn near every day..A way to make something that you do every day a little more magickal… though I believe cooking and food itself is magickal. It is a gift of earth. but adding in your own magick and intent makes it all the more powerful.
I usually just let my guides…guide me.. I’ll find myself sprinkling in typically unusual things like A pinches of nutmeg and cinnamon along with basil and rosemary in my spaghetti , I stumbled upon the perfect sweet treats for calm composure and memory help with rosemary and lavender sugar cookies,
and todays topic…COCOA . I use it in SO MANY THINGS. Even when I’m not purposefully trying do the Witchin’ . And there are some great magickal and medicinal uses for it!

I have had a lot of difficulties because of my depression and anxiety lately, which has made me not do anything basically. Now I’m just so tired of not being able to get out of bed so I decided to use what little energy I had to make a spell involving something edible. Here are my negative energy banishing cupcakes.
You’ll need:
1/2dl vegetable oil 1dl granulated sugar A few drops of vanilla essence (to make you love yourself) 1dl coffee
Mix the wet ingredients - not the coffee - together until the batter is a little lighter and fluffier. Then add the coffee and mix everything together.
Then mix the dry ingredients together in a different bowl: 1 and 3/4dl all purpose flour 1tsp vanilla sugar 1tsp baking powder 1 pinch of baking soda 2tbl of cocoa powder ~100g dark chocolate, chopped However much peppermint you want. I used dried peppermint and just crumbled it up (to clear out sickness and negative energy) A few shakes of cayenne pepper (for banishing negative thoughts)
Fold in the dry mix into the wet mix and make sure there are no clumps in there. (Except for the pieces of chocolate, of course.) Divide the mixture into 12 cupcake tins and place in oven for about 12-15 minutes at 175°C.
I also drew a sigil for self love and acceptance on the bottom of every tin with vegetable oil!
When the cupcakes are done and have cooled down you can also make a frosting. I mixed some icing sugar with water, sea salt (for protection as well as banishing) and lime juice (to brighten my mood).
This is probably the witch advice you didn’t ask for, but I’ve found it’s much easier to remember to do general periodic maintenance that’s otherwise easily forgotten or put off when tied to milestones such as solstices, equinox, new, or full moons.
For example: Stow your winter blankets or clothes on the Vernal Equinox and take them out again on the Autumnal Equinox. Replace your air and water filters on solstices and equinoxes (every 90 days). Begin new 30-day challenges or do reset/cleaning of your living space on the new moon (every month).
Living cyclically breaks life down into manageable little blocks of time and helps us live in the moment by paying attention to the ebb and flow of the Earth.
