every time i feel like i haven’t done enough things to be proud of myself during the day there’s the voice of louise glück that emerges softly in my ears and says if you missed a day there’s always the next and if you missed a year it didn’t matter the hills weren’t going anywhere the thyme and rosemary kept coming back.. and i feel like life is beautiful and kind to me again
Don’t forget to look around and appreciate the things that are going right as well.
“There is nothing wrong with second place. Your best effort is all that anyone’s asking for. And if you give your best and you come in second, you come in third, you come in last, it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about giving it everything you’ve got. Now, Sam has built a monument to devilry and chaos. I deserve second place. I came in second. The only crime here is that Oscar and Ally deserve first. We should be applauding them for getting more points. But in this sick rodeo, this bizarre fucked up clown festival that Sam’s put together we’re here celebrating what I can only describe as the sickness at the core of America. And uh…. I’m gonna get him I’m gonna get Sam.”

this reminder might be hard, but i need you to know that you have to be ok with people not liking you. in my mother tongue, we have a saying: “not even Jesus pleased everybody,” and the sooner you understand this, the less you’ll suffer for thinking you’re not enough. it’s impossible to be aligned with everybody.
It is okay to take care of your needs.
Your body is a good body because it houses you.
You have to stop ruining things for yourself preemptively because you believe they’ll fail anyway. Give yourself a chance to succeed.
one day you’ll yearn for the person you are now, to tell them, "hey, look, it turned out to be okay" and "i’m so grateful you’ve held on" and "things just worked out somehow". you’ll want to hold their hand and give them the wisdom that the future is actually better, and you know it because you’re living it. but you can’t reach through time like that. the only way to bridge the gap between the you of today and the you who’s doing better, is to hold onto the hope that they exist.
“You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – Christopher Robin, Winnie The Pooh
Healing is like "Ah! I got that part of me back! How nice!" and then start crying because you shouldn't have lost that part in the first place
