FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR DOG, DONT SCROLL PAST THIS

IMPORTANT! Gravy Train Dog Food was had a recall.

The food was tainted with and contains euthanasia.

Source: (x)

A bunch of dogs, including my own, eat Gravy Train. It’s a very affordable wet canned dog food, so many people buy it. and my dog has to eat it because she’s lost most of her teeth and can’t chew.

Please, SIGNAL BOOST THIS!

Even if you don’t have a dog, your followers probably do, and plenty of them are at risk. You could save a life.

If you haven’t heard there is a literal massacre going on in Sudan.

People are getting kidnapped, arrested, raped and killed. This has been going on for a few days now but naturally there’s hardly any media coverage.

THE WORLD CARES MORE ABOUT AN EMPTY CHURCH IN FRANCE THAN HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT BLACK MUSLIMS DYING IN SUDAN.

There are a few ways to help:

 - Emergency Medical Aid Donation

If You Haven’t Heard There Is A Literal Massacre Going On In Sudan.

- Facebook campaign raising funds for food and other necessities

- International Rescue Committee

- Save The Children

Even if you can’t donate please help spread the news!!

College Applications Can Be Seriously Stressful And Overwhelming. After Going Through The Process A Few

College applications can be seriously stressful and overwhelming. After going through the process a few months ago and getting into both schools I applied to, I thought I’d share a few tips and a general timeline to shoot for!

as soon as possible

Begin making a list of colleges you’re interested in and researching them.

Start thinking about what extracurriculars you want to list; drop the ones you don’t care about to give you more time for the ones you enjoy most.

Think about the teachers that know you the best and ask if they would be willing to write a letter of recommendation.

six months before applications are due

Narrow down your list to your top choices only.

There’s no point in wasting money applying to colleges you don’t want to go to!

Look at the Common App essay prompts and start brainstorming topics.

as soon as applications open

Fill out the easy parts of the application – your name, address, etc.

Make a list of any fields that you will need help filling out (like if you’re not sure what your advisor’s phone number is).

Start rough drafts of your essays, even if you aren’t sure of the topics.

three months before applications are due

Nail down essay topics and begin serious revisions.

Ask people if they would be willing to proofread your essays.

Visit campuses if possible, or speak to an admissions counselor to better tailor your applications to each school.

one month before the due date

Send essays to the people that have agreed to go over them.

Finish up the questions portion of the application.

Enter in actives and have someone proof them.

Begin final edits of essays.

Contact the teachers that are writing your letters and add them as recommenders on Common App (if that’s what you’re applying through).

one week before the due date

Finalize your essays.

Have a parent review your application make sure all the information is accurate.

Make sure all test scores, transcripts, and any other supplemental materials are in order and will be sent on time.

Submit your applications as soon as possible so you’re not stressing about getting it in on time!

a few things to keep in mind

There’s no right number of schools to apply to.

I applied to two, my sister applied to one, and I have friends that applied to ten. Do your research and narrow it down as much as possible to save time and money, but above all make sure that you’re happy with the schools you choose.

Schools want to see applicants that are unique and passionate about something. It’s not so much about finding a student that’s done a million different things and is a member of every club, but finding one that shows dedication and individuality through their application.

They can tell the difference between an essay written by a high school senior or college transfer and an adult pretending to be one – don’t ever ever ever hire someone out to write yours for you.

Be creative with extracurriculars if you think you don’t have enough! Everything from babysitting your siblings to coding themes counts.

Seriously never underestimate the importance of having other people proofread. You’ve been looking at your essays for so long that you would never catch that one bit of an old sentence sandwiched in between a new one, but someone else will.

Don’t sweat it! You’ve totally got this.

What I think makes a character more than just eye color and hair

I see a lot of beginner artists drawing OCs that have lots in common, so I (a not much better artist, if I’m honest) decided to say what I like in a character design that shows more than just their eyes and hair color/hair style.

1. Eyebrows- Most early artists draw their eyebrows to be very similar across characters, and while some art styles can have the same eyebrows throughout, I think variety here can be great! Play with the bushiness, shape, and color a bit and see what happens.

2. Height- For the most part, I find that backgrounds and multiple people in a drawing can be pretty rare for beginners, so they have nothing to compare the character’s height to. However, when drawing multiple characters in a scene make sure that their heights can contrast with each other to make it more dynamic. For fun, try drawing super short characters or taller ones- and even though proportion is a must in these places, practice drawing these different heights can really help.

3. Tattoos (be very careful with this one)- Lots more people have tattoos than one might think. In a story, it could have significant meaning or just be there for stylistic purposes, but not only do they look cool, they can tell a lot about a specific person. However, be careful not to add too many tattoos and keep an open mind as to placement, size, and what the tattoo actually is. These things can get really angsty really fast, and definitely should try not to be a trend throughout most characters in a story. Personally, I don’t particularly like face or hand tattoos, but ones on the back and collarbone feel nice. Be very, very careful about these, and when in doubt, ask a friend if they look too awkward or crowded.

4. Moles and freckles- I can say that almost every person has a birthmark of some sort somewhere, and to make your OCs more realistic it’s a good idea to add some. Change the size and color of these marks, and remember that they can pretty much go anywhere. For freckles, place them not only on the face but wherever the sun hits, such as shoulders, the back, the collarbone, and arms. Avoid doing these marks in heavy black ink, otherwise it can look like pimples or splatters. Also avoid doing specifically shaped birthmarks in my opinion- the cliché of “I was born with this strange birthmark and I have no idea what it means oh shit would you look at that” can rarely be put well to use and a person may as well be born with a tattoo on their face that says “main character”.

5. Noses- Lots of beginner artists do take their inspiration from anime and cartoons, and just drawing a dot for a nose isn’t very creative in my opinion. Plus, when the heads are turned in profile, all these characters tend to have that signature anime nose shape. Try noses that might stick out a bit more, that are hooked, that are angled, straight, bumpy, etc.

I understand I’m not the best artist myself and I probably shouldn’t be giving advice just yet, so take this with a grain of salt- and add on if you like!

i genuinely hope anyone ages 13-15 on this website (or, god forbid, younger) stays safe and keeps their private information secure and really private

please, if you’re really young on tumblr, try not to get swept up in the discourse and the tremendous amount of arguing with strangers that goes on here. i know you probably feel mature for your age but this website, like, really psychologically affects youth, and i encourage you to be cautious about your interactions with people on here

 please, kiddos, stay safe
